NOTE: If you like this unit and it is unavailable, or if you are looking for a smaller unit, take a look at this suite we have listed on AirBnB: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/241788 Interaction with GuestsComment from previous tenants: My wife and I rented this loft for almost one year while our new home was being remodeled. We had an excellent experience. It is located in lively Santana Row, with ready access to shops and restaurants. The area has become a magnet for both locals and out-of-towners. While Santana Row attracts big crowds, particularly on weekends, this loft is surprisingly quiet, as it faces away from the main drag. The loft itself is very comfortably appointed and gets lots of natural light through its large windows. Owners Ginger and Ray are very friendly and responsive, and are focused on meeting their tenants’ needs. Given the length of our stay, a couple of issues naturally came up, with appliances and plumbing occasionally needing attention, as it happens in any home. Ginger and Ray always had contractors lined up who took care of these few issues immediately. In addition, they provided help with luggage when we went out of town, and generally went out of their way to help us enjoy our stay. They were also very flexible: we were able to address all scheduling and payment issues with them very smoothly. In sum, this loft is a great choice for a vacation in Silicon Valley, a business trip, or a temporary rental. I very highly recommend it. The NeighborhoodPeter from United Kingdom commented: The apartment is centrally located on the fantastic Santana Row it was well maintained with every facility you could wish for. Ginger provided every assistance to make the stay comfortable and enjoyable and maintained contact throughout .The apartment is in the heart of the Santana Row and is so well located for the shops, restaurants, gym and transportation to places such as San Francisco the property has a secure garage space too. Supermarkets and Westfield Shopping Mall are literally across the road . The row is an amazing place with so many restaurants and high quality shopping on the door step with Al Fresco dining or indoors if preferred restaurants such as the Left Bank, The Yard House and Maggianos are a must the row is classy and definitely the place to be. I would recommend the property to anyone and Ginger and Rays attention to detail make the apartment a perfect place to stay simply superb Peter United Kingdom Getting AroundSantana Row, Valley Fair, and the Winchester Mystery House are located west of downtown and south of Santa Clara. The SpaceBuilt in 1923, this well-maintained 3 bedroom home is bright and friendly, with a quirky combination of antique furnishings and modern toys: the pinball machine was made in 1970, the cocktail robot in 2013, and the 3D printer in 2014. My home is on one of the largest lots in the neighborhood, with an expansive lawn, fruit trees, vegetable gardens and a large deck. You are always welcome to enjoy the sun (or the shade) on the backyard deck. Located a short walk from downtown San Jose in the historic Naglee Park neighborhood, our home provides a safe, quiet landing space with easy parking and quick access (2 minutes to HWY 280) to all the best the Bay Area has to offer. Bedroom: The blue guest room is furnished with a beautiful antique oak queen bed (the mattress was purchased new in November 2015), desk, and a small refrigerator. Relax in the overstuffed reading chair with a book from the well-stocked bookshelf or browse with your laptop on our wifi. Bathroom: The marble-tiled semi-private bathroom with a bathtub/shower and soft fluffy towels is the first door next to your room. Your bathroom may be shared with visiting friends and on rare occasions, overnight house guests. The cozy living room has the most comfortable couch, but you may have to share it with Sir Gussman Pooftail (or just Gus), the resident feline in good standing. Please note that Gus is strictly not allowed in the guest room or guest bath. He is friendly, and content to ignore you if you ignore him. Guest AccessIn addition to their bedroom and semi-private bath, guests may also use the living room, laundry facilities, shaded patio, and large back yard. Free on-street parking is available - remind me to loan you the visitor parking pass that's required weekdays between 9am and 1pm. Interaction with GuestsI am often at home when guests first arrive and during their stay. The NeighborhoodNaglee Park is full of historic and architecturally interesting homes. William Street Park is a block away and the local coffee house is three or four blocks towards the SJSU campus. Downtown San Jose offers several museums, some shopping, an art house movie theater, and many pubs, clubs and restaurants. I am happy to share my recommendations and favorite spots. Getting AroundSan Jose International Airport (SJC) is a short five or ten minute drive. Access to rental cars and terminals at the airport is fast and convenient. At Diridon Station, a five minute drive, you have access to Caltrain which connects with BART and takes you to San Francisco, VTA (Valley Transit Authority) street cars and busses, and Amtrak trains to the East Bay and Oakland. The VTA trains make several stops downtown and the DASH shuttle also runs between downtown and Diridon Station. Other Things to NoteThe check in time is flexible, but generally require that guests pick a one hour slot between 2pm and 10pm. Other times may be arranged depending on date and availability. A minimum stay of two days on Friday and Saturday nights is preferred, and I require that guests verify their ID through Airbnb.

The SpaceI have a really nice room in a quiet neighborhood that is 10 mins. away from the major freeways. Easy access to public transit, light rail and the train/bus station. It's in a nice Mobilehome Park. The home is a manufactured home. Not a trailer or one of the older mobilehomes with paneling and such. The room is small, but for most guests that only book the room for sleeping, the room is fine. I clean on a regular basis and do the best I can to maintain things. I can't help our location. Have been getting low ratings for location, but our location is fine. You may not have a fine view out of your window, but you have a comfortable stay. We have a hallway bathroom across the way from our two Airbnb rooms. It's a shared bath, but so far no one has had any issues, as everyone's schedule is so varied. Rating me on location....well it's something I can't help. It is accurate. You do have easy access. I can't help where my home is. Please keep in mind when rating me on my location the ease of access to freeways, public transit and safe community. We have wireless internet. We bought our own modem and router since Comcast/xfinity just wasn't cutting it in terms of their modem. We know how important internet access is to our guests. If your laptop doesn't have a wireless card, we can provide you with an Ethernet cable for a wired connection. We provide high speed internet. Please check our pictures to see the speed we have. We know how important internet access is to our guests. We just recently cancelled our cable service. Most people don't watch TV while they stay with us. So, we kept the internet and got rid of the cable. You can do your laundry here and if you would like to cook something, you are welcome to make use of the kitchen. If you need room in the fridge, I will gladly accommodate you as well as provide you with cabinet space for what you need. Feel free to contact me if you have any questions. The home is air conditioned, so nice and comfortable during California's hot Summer weather. Due to the increase in the use of utilities, I've had to increase my room rate a little bit. Hopefully this is still affordable for everyone considering all that we offer our guests. Guest AccessThe kitchen and all that it offers. The laundry room. The dinning room area. Of course the guest bathroom. Please be mindful that we are going through an extreme drought in our area when showering or using the bathroom sink. Also if cooking or washing dishes in the kitchen, be mindful of just letting the water run. During the drought we are reserving watering all outside plants to once a week to help conserve water. Interaction with GuestsWe follow our guests lead when it comes to socializing. Some guests like to get to know us and sit down and have a meal. Some guest have a hectic schedule and come and go like if at a hotel, which in essence that is what we provide a home/hotel service. So, leave the interacting up to our guests, as this is their trip, their stay. I have asthma so I may not always be up to hanging out with guests. My daughter is a busy entertainment tech and my boyfriend keeps to himself quite a bit. The NeighborhoodOur community is a safe environment and at night it is super quiet. You feel quite removed from the city even though you're not. There are rules for inside the community. We must accompany our guests to the pool, clubhouse, any community used places, so not always do able. You can park in our driveway during your stay. The only inconvenience is we do the car shuffle so that the person that leaves first in the morning, has their car at the end of the driveway. Keys are kept in a dish, on the kitchen table so, no one is ever stuck and not be able to leave. If keys aren't left in the dish, we encourage our guests to knock on the door of the other guest or on our door. Our car has a manual transmission, so not everyone knows how to drive one. So my boyfriend always has the keys and moves the car when needed. Usually everyone is quite cooperative and there are no hassles. Just takes getting used to if you have never done it before. There is room for only three cars. So, when you book, there is only room for one car per room. Getting AroundWe have a bus stop right outside our community that takes you to the lightrail or the train station. Wherever you need to go. Easy access to the highways, you can easily drive from our area to where ever you need to get to. Other Things to NotePlease remember that you are in my home and respect it as such. Leaving messes for me to clean up on a daily basis is not cool. Hotel service yes, but I am not the cleaning service hotels have. The bathroom is the main room I would like to see guests clean up after themselves. When both rooms are booked, it is only courteous to the other guests that will be using the bathroom as well. Night temperature for the heater is kept at 62 as the heater heats up the house to 67 before turning off. House is comfortable during the day, so no need to adjust the heat. If you have a tendency to be on the cold side, please let us know. During the summer thermostat is kept at 78 for AC.

The garden yields a variety of herbs and vegetables each year. We recommend the lemons outside the cottage to spice up any drink or dish. So you'll find emergency supplies, like Q-tips, cotton balls, bandaids, safety pins, etc. in a drawer for you if you have an emergency need. I stay in a lot of 5-star hotels as well as guest houses so try to provide the parts of each that I appreciate. So while there isn't butler service, :-) I work to make your stay comfy and very pleasant. It's a joy to walk around the neighborhood enjoying the different, well-kept homes, from the one built in 1890 on our block, to the Frank Lloyd Wright disciple's design across the street to modern interpretations of Craftsman. Willow Glen was recently named by Money Magazine as one of ten best city neighborhoods. To read the article you'll need to do a search for it as AirBnB deletes the URL! Our neighborhood is full of unique houses and interesting people. There are CEOs, lawyers, artists, tech execs, doctors, retired folks, stay-at-home parents, tech entrepreneurs, a former Lakers cheerleader and even a Sharks player! Newport Ave. is one of the most coveted (some say the most coveted!) streets in Willow Glen. If you don't have a car, no problem. From SFO, you can take BART then CalTrain to the main San José station, then it's a short cab or Uber ride to my home. You can also access BART by bus out of the main San Jose train station 3 miles away. Want to go around the Valley? The Light Rail station is a mile away (Tamien Station), or there is a bus stop steps away (look up VTA bus #82 -- Westgate/Downtown -- Newport/Minnesota stop). Or from SJC, a short cab, Uber or Lyft ride will bring you to my front door. Want some exercise? Rent a bike in downtown Willow Glen and ride the bike paths to downtown San José and even to SJC, or the Los Gatos Creek Trail head is less than a mile away. There's even a bike share program now in San José! Or walk around the interesting neighborhood where every home is unique, or to a nearby park. Pamper yourself at one of several day spas a few blocks away, or get toned at one of several yoga and Pilates studios. Or maybe take a belly dancing class! While the room has shades and eye shades are provided for those who are light sensitive, the shades are not blackout so the light from the street light does get in. If light bothers you and you won't wear eye shades you should probably find another accommodation until I get blackout shades. If you'd like to go to the beach (Santa Cruz, Monterey, Carmel, Half Moon Bay) or have a picnic, I can loan you lawn chairs, a beach blanket/mats and a cooler -- even a frisbee! The SpacePrivate Room, Shared Bath. I have just put this room back on Airbnb after an absence of almost 2 years. The reason for the absence? I had a long-term guest - for 22 months! Please note: I have 2 other listings on Airbnb as well as this one. All are named "Comfy, Cozy & Affordable" with a number 1,2 or 3 appended. If you don't like this one, you might like one of the others. As your host, my goal is to make your stay with me the very best possible, whether you're staying in an Airbnb for the first time or have stayed in one before. I hope you will let me know if there's anything I can do to make your stay better. The first thing every guest says when they arrive is "You have a stunning view of the valley". My house is on a hill above Silicon Valley and provides beautiful, panoramic views of all of Silicon Valley. Note: You will need a car. Public transportation is about 2 miles away, down a hill, so unless you really like to walk, you'll need a car. There’s an Ikea sofa bed in this room (see Beddinge on Ikea), that can be a twin bed or open into a full-size bed. An ample closet has plenty of space for hanging clothes and for your suitcases, packs and other things you’d like to have out of the way. A desk with chair and a bookcase complete the room. It’s on the 2nd floor of my home and shares a bath. There's high-speed internet and WiFi, and you have use of the common living areas: dining room, living room with TV and cable, and yard. Amenities provided include: linens, towels, hand soap, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner; if you need something else let me know and I will try to provide it. All you need to bring is yourself and your suitcase. My home is in a quiet residential neighborhood in the foothills of San Jose. There are fields surrounding the neighborhood, and abundant wildlife - it's like living in the country but only minutes away from everything in the valley. Guests are often enchanted by the variety of wildlife that can be seen from my house, and surprised by how quickly they can get places. If you’re interested in hiking, trail running or even a little mountain biking, check out Alum Rock Park which is quite close to my house. It’s a beautiful park in the foothills that reminds me of a little Yosemite – there’s even a stream running through it. You can do a web search and get the official park info, and Yelp has great reviews where people have added 470! photos. I do have a dog, he's a big, friendly, lovable goof, and he's not allowed into the room. You will need a car. Public transportation is about 2 miles away, down a hill, so unless you really like to walk, you'll need a car. I look forward to welcoming you to my home. Getting AroundMcKee Station is the closest public transit to the house. I highly recommend using Lyft/Uber as a way to get around the Bay Area. The SpaceWe understand that there are plenty of shared living situations, so why stay with us? 1. The People Our community attracts talented individuals from around the world. Whether you pursue an MBA, attend a developer school, start a company, seek funding, find market validation, expand your network, or hack a project, we provide a quiet and professional environment with people like you. Our guests are constantly scheduling events and meals together, and we have a private page to keep everyone connected. 2. The Space The most common complaint of shared living situations is that there is not enough space to work. We furnish every room with desks and chairs, we don't overcrowd the rooms, and we keep a professional environment so that you have a quiet place to work, read, relax, study, and code. We have a garage with seating and work space and a spacious backyard with patio furniture. The weather here in San Jose is nice all year long. 3. The Food Plan $7 per day gets you access to all of the community food - We keep the kitchen very well stocked. The house doesn't make any money on the Food Plan, it's just an added convenience for our guests. For the cost of 1 fast food meal per day, you get unlimited access to high quality nutrition, you never have to spend time shopping, and it is much more efficient and convenient than shopping individually. Plus, you get access to a much wider variety of food because we leverage the buying power of our entire community. Even if you still eat out once a day, this is worth it. We pride ourselves in having the best cooking equipment: Vitamix blender, Keurig coffee maker, rice cooker, pressure cooker, toaster, high quality pots and pans, and cutlery. We also have private shelf space and fridge space for your personal food items. We want you to eat well, enjoy cooking meals, sharing food, and making smoothies with fresh fruits and vegetables. We love food! 4. Comfort We strive to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We have invested in high quality mattress, pillows, and sheets to ensure that you sleep well. We provide ear plugs for light sleepers, and nasal strips for those who snore. Our house stays clean because everyone contributes. If you make a mess, clean it up. Sheets and towels are cleaned by the house, so you always have access to clean bedding.
