Hello! Thanks for looking at our listing! Please read my description in its entirety to see if we have a potentially good fit! We look forward to hosting guests of different backgrounds and welcome you to our sunny tranquil family home in San Mateo with a view of San Francisco Bay. Our home is spacious and cozy, and is very kid friendly. Our home is ideal for vacationers or those on business, and we will always make you feel at home. We are in an ideal location, close to hwy 101 and 280, and public transportation. We are 20 miles south of San Francisco, 30 miles north of San Jose, 36 miles west of the Tri Valley and 13 miles from half Moon Bay and beaches. We are 10-15 minutes from SFO. If you must use public transportation, Sam Trans #53 passes close to here. The Caltrain station is 1.5 miles away. You can park there or walk there. Keep in mind if you walk, it is a rigorous walk back up the hill. The train is a 20 minute ride to SF. I can send you a referral code for either Lyft or Uber for a free or discounted ride, if it is the first time you are using their service. A little more about the location: You are within walking distance to the Laurelwood shopping center which includes Piazza's grocery store, and several eateries. The College of San Mateo, and Laurelwood Park, which has hiking trails, are nearby. There is also a farmers market at CSM on Saturdays featuring lots of organic produce. Our perfect guest is someone who loves life and sharing good conversation. We enjoy learning about different backgrounds and interests! While we would love to share our space with you, and will likely invite you to join us when we are around, we also appreciate very self sufficient guests! We are a very busy family and need our guests to make themselves at home and take care of themselves. This means tidying after yourself, like loading and unloading the dishwasher, and being respectful of our home. We do not allow any smokers or smoking on the property, inside or outside. Also, we have no TV, so bring your laptop! We have plenty of toys to share with your children- we just ask you to clean up after they enjoy them. A little about us: We are an active household, homeschooling our young children. We speak English and Italian in our home and we have a passion for cooking. We love to experiment with gluten free international vegetarian cuisine. We love art, books, gardening, inventions, entrepreneurship, and creativity in general. The animals in residence are fish and four lovely chickens who lay eggs. About the accommodations: Please note that we may have guests staying in other accommodations in the home during your stay. A private bedroom upstairs. There is a queen bed with an organic mattress that can sleep two, and a single futon bed for a thrid guest. There is a lovely view of the bay from this room. You can see the San Mateo bridge and Mount Diablo from the window! There is a beautiful private bathroom en suite. Because the room is upstairs and away from the common areas and our bedrooms, you have the option of having complete privacy. There is a  loft that is adjacent to the private room, so while the bedroom is completely private, you will need to pass the loft and any guests staying there to access the bedroom. You also have use of our garden and patio, kitchen and laundry (laundry is available only to guests booked for a week or longer).  You will surely enjoy our outdoor living room, with a view of the Bay! Organic coffee and a variety of tea available. When you make a booking request, please make sure to include: a) your full name(s): include everyone in your party. b) something about you and the other people in your party, so that I can verify you online. c) what you expect to be doing during your visit (for instance, please let me know if you will be working from my home during the day so that I will know if I can accommodate you) d) confirmation that you have read through the description of the accommodation you are requesting to book. We look forward to meeting and hosting you! -Angela

However, if you keep the windows closed, it is quite a quiet place to relax! There is a Holiday Inn (San Mateo) 1 block away to arrange for airport shuttle service for pick up and drop off. Getting AroundOur apartment complex makes it convenient to travel to San Francisco or to San Jose (30 minutes driving or take Caltrain). Caltrain is 20 to 30 minute walk. The SpaceHello. Thank you for looking at my listing. I have two fully furnished large bedrooms available in my newly remodeled 1900+ sq ft home in San Mateo, CA. (There's an identical listing for the other bedroom on this site. I have to make two separate listings because the calendar can only show availability for one listing each.) The house is in a residential neighborhood with ample parking, 15 miles south of downtown San Francisco. It's about 15-20 minutes drive to SF border, or you can take the bus to Millbrae BART station or walk to the San Mateo or Burlingame CalTrain stations to get to SF, or south bound to Mountain View or Palo Alto. For those days/nights when you want to explore the suburbs, nearby within two miles are downtown Burlingame and downtown San Mateo with shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. A little more south are Palo Alto and Silicon Valley. I am also two block from the bay trail where you can go for a run or a bike ride for miles and miles. It is absolutely beautiful and will lighten your spirit. San Mateo is below the fog line so you are almost always guaranteed to see the sun in the summer and most of winter, which is more than you can say about SF. There is a daybed with trundle in one bedroom and a queen size bed in another. As you can see from the pictures, the entire house is flooded with light. There is wi-fi through out the house. All bathrooms are new and with shower over tub. Towels and linens are available for your convenience. For those guests who are staying for more than a week, washer and dryer are also available for your use. Rentals include utilities and wi-fi. If you are interested in booking a room but the calendar shows it is unavailable, please check my other listing. The other room may be available. I frequently travel on business so you may have the whole house to yourself for the entire or part of your stay. I have an indoor cat and a toy poodle dog but the house is immaculate as I have a cleaning service every other week. The cat stays home while the dog goes to a sitter when I travel. While I welcome tourists and travelers, my house is also perfect as short term rentals for those students who are doing internships in nearby Foster City, Palo Alto or Mountain View. Genentech is even a short drive to the north toward SF. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns that I have not addressed here. I hope you will come and stay with Lulu (dog) and Titi (cat) and me as we love our clean, spacious and beautiful home. But if not, we still wish you a memorable visit to the beautiful and magical Bay Area.

Getting AroundEasy on-street parking, 2 minutes to freeway (US-(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) minute cab ride to SFO. 20 minute walk to Caltrain Station (goes to Silicon Valley, SF, BART), or 10 minutes on a free loaner bike (can go with you on train). The SpaceHello. Thank you for looking at my listing. This is a fully furnished large bedrooms available in my newly remodeled 1900+ sq ft home in San Mateo, CA. (There's another listing for the other bedroom on this site. I am also two blocks from the bay trail where you can go for a run or a bike ride for miles and miles. It is absolutely beautiful and will lighten your spirit. San Mateo is below the fog line so you are almost always guaranteed to see the sun in the summer and most of winter, which is more than you can say about SF. Both bedrooms have new and comfortable queen size beds and private entrances. As you can see from the pictures, the entire house is flooded with light. There is wi-fi through out the house. The two rooms share a Jack and Jill bathroom that is professionally cleaned by my cleaning service every other week. The bathroom is new and with shower over tub. Towels and linens are available for your convenience. For those guests who are staying for more than a week, washer and dryer are also available for your use. Rentals include all utilities, laundry and wi-fi. While I welcome tourists and travelers, my house is also perfect as short term rentals for those students who are doing internships in San Mateo, Foster City, Palo Alto or Mountain View. I have had interns from Visa, Sony, EA, Palo Alto Medical Center and Stanford. Guest AccessAll common area, including my beautifully landscape back yard. No cooking in the kitchen though. Interaction with GuestsThe two rooms are in the back of the house and are separated from the living room, kitchen and my bedroom by the kitchen and pantry. As you have your own private entrance, you don't have to see me if you don't want to. But on the other hand, I'm avail to hang out and chat if you'd like. I cook often when I'm home and not traveling. If you're open to it, you'll likely be invited to sit down to dinner with me and my friends from time to time. The NeighborhoodQuiet, residential neighborhood with plenty of street parking. A few blocks from the beautiful Bay trail where you can walk, run or ride your bike along the San Francisco Bay. Getting Around20 mins walk to the San Mateo Caltrain station.

There is exercise equipment for you to use including a commercial quality spin bike, Precor Elliptical, and a Hoist V4 home gym. Plus a TV hooked to AT&T Uverse with On-Demand Premium Cable. The SpaceThis is my home where I live with my kids (part-time). It is nestled in an oak grove, by the side of a creek, and it offers the feeling of being in a tree house. A deck wraps around the back of the house, overlooking the creek, and is at the canopy level of the surrounding oak (and redwood) trees. A hot tub is in the front patio, a short walk from the sliding glass doors that lead into the family room. There is a California King bed in the master, and a double bed in each of the other two bedrooms. A note about the photos: The first set you see were taken two years ago when I staged the house to put it on the market (and then took it off and decided to keep it!). Some of the furniture shown in those pro photos is no longer there, so I also added a handful of snapshots of the rooms as they currently are. Guest AccessGuests have full use of the house, with a few restricted areas (closets, basement, and the garage) where I keep my things. You will have full use of the kitchen, the grill on the deck, the hot tub, and of course the living space. Wifi is provided, along with Apple TV (Netflix, Hulu Plus, and Amazon Prime Instant Video (free stuff only, please!) on the 52" screen in the living room. Interaction with GuestsThe front door has a keypad lock, and I'll send you a private code that you can use during your stay. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is very quiet, and the house is at the end of a quaint cul-de-sac. Neighbors are all friendly, there are a few dogs nearby but they rarely bark. The squirrels are generally too busy collecting acorns to be much for conversation, sorry! Getting AroundA local bus stop is about four blocks away, and if you have a bike (or don't mind the 25 min. walk), there is a CalTrain station nearby as well. For driving and freeways, there is very convenient access to 92, and from there to 101 and 280. Other Things to NoteI want AirBnB to work well, and I plan to do whatever I can to make it succeed for us all. I hope that you share this desire as well!

The SpaceThis unit is two story, and is accessible from second story, so you must be comfortable with stairs to stay here. The front bedroom is a queen bed, and the back bedroom is king bed. The back bedroom has more exposure to the CalTrain, which can be quite loud for guests. Guest AccessThe kitchen is available for your use, and you may use spices and dishes. Replace if you break. You can use the Breville Juicer, but be sure to clean well after use. A press-pot is available for coffee, along with fresh beans and a grinder. Washer and Dryer Drycleaner Free WiFi Cable, with HBO and Showtime Interaction with GuestsI will be available at check in, and am just a quick email / call / text away. The NeighborhoodOur condo is nestled in a mixed professional and residential neighborhood with plenty of parking. Getting AroundWe are less than a mile walk to downtown San Mateo and the CalTrain station. We are just a little over a mile south of Burlingame, and their CalTrain station. Other Things to NoteOne of our family members is a Shih-tzu, which is hypo-allergenic....but we want you to know just in case you have any crazy allergies. Once upon a time we had 2 cats live here. The home has been deep cleaned, but I can't state that someone with aggressive cat allergies wouldn't be affected.
