The SpaceLike staying in a chic, adult treehouse. You'll wake up amongst mature trees and have gorgeous views of San Francisco and Marin. Three full bathrooms and three full bedrooms make for a luxurious getaway! Welcome to our 2000 sq. ft. beautiful home. Nestled in the hills, one view on the top story gives you a scenic picture of San Francisco while the other is Mount Tamalpais of Marin (especially gorgeous since the sun sets right over the mountain). We love our home for a few major reasons. 1. An amazing view of both San Francisco and Marin. 2. A great location that's close to a vast regional park system yet easily accessible to major interstates. 3. The amazing light from a full southern exposure. The top story includes our kitchen, which was renovated last year and includes a wonderful assortment of imported Italian dishware and professional cookware. In the living area is an awesome sound system, 42" TV, carefully selected library, Xbox 360, and games of the electronic and board variety. It's a great place to relax after adventures in the surrounding area. Our spacious home includes: 3 bedrooms (with an enormous Cal King and two Full real beds) 3 full bathrooms Open floor-plan living room/kitchen/dining room Family room 3 parking spaces Unfinished rec. room with ping-pong table (another 350 sq feet, NOT included in total square footage) The middle story is like living in an adult tree house. It includes an expansive 300 sq. ft. deck (large enough for a full patio set and BBQ) and a second side deck that situates you at the level of the mature trees in the backyard. Oh yes, the upper floor has another 400 sq. ft. deck, and the lower floor has a 600 sq. ft. deck with BBQ and entertainment area. The lowest level is unfinished but has enough room for a heated game of table tennis as well the table and paddles. Please send a message if you have any questions. We hope that you will enjoy this beautiful home. The SpaceMy wife Holly and I call our home "Woodsy" because out every window you see natural life-trees, birds, flowers, nests and more. Nestled along the peaceful East Bay hills and just a block north of the beautiful 2,407 acre Wildcat Canyon park, you'll feel at home here. The guest room is great! We've had a number of guests state they've had 'the best sleep of their lives' while staying here. There's a dresser and closet for clothes and other belongings and a super comfy queen sized bed with warm covers. The views right out the bedroom windows are fantastic, overlooking secluded garden and wooded areas. Our home has a large living/family room and dining room. There are multiple decks for enjoying the bay views and beautiful surroundings. We have everything you need to cook and enjoy great meals including a BBQ off the kitchen deck and multiple outdoor seating areas. Exposed wood trim, large plank hardwood floors and a large pine A-frame extension give the house an instant feeling of home. Not to mention the green visible out every window. If you're looking for a relaxing spot to spend your visit in the bay area while still having access to the city, wine country, wilderness and more then you've found the spot. Welcome to Woodsy! Outside our home you'll find a range of relaxing options including a gravel garden hangout with a large 10 foot long custom table and benches that are perfect for enjoying your morning coffee or afternoon drink of choice. Walk around the garden areas and keep an eye out for the local deer, birds and other wild animals that frequent our home. Walk for 1 minute out the front door and you'll be on the trail in Wildcat Canyon or Alvarado Park. These adjoining parks are some of the best kept secrets in the East Bay with incredible views of the entire bay, hiking trails, creek access, craftsmen stone work and plenty of space to play. Go outside and get inspired. The place is yours while you're here. We have tenant neighbors that live in a separate but connected bottom half of the house and share the outside space and laundry with us. They are friendly always say hello. The neighborhood is quiet and family oriented with limited car traffic beyond residents. There are nearby (1 mile) shops, parks, hiking trails, restaurants, grocery stores, coffee shops, bakeries, bars, bike shops and more. We can recommend all kinds places for you to dig into the neighborhood. Our home is located in the perfect jumping off point for any Bay Area adventure. There's plenty of parking in the carport (room for 2 cars) and street parking is ample too. It's just over 2 miles to BART (the bay area's subway system) which is accessible by Uber/Lyft/taxi for around $8. Cars usually take about 7-10 minutes to arrive. There are trains to take you just about anywhere you'd want to go just a few miles away in downtown Richmond. The heart of the wine country is just a 45-60 minute drive away and San Francisco is a mere 30-40 minutes while Oakland is about 20 minutes to downtown. We send out a digital guide to our house with lots more info on the ins and outs of staying at Woodsy once reservations are confirmed including wifi, hike maps, laundry, garbage night, etc. You'll be all taken care of with full access to our neighborhood and all it has to offer. Welcome to Woodsy! We look forward to saying having you. -Doug & Holly Guest AccessThe bedroom is your home base while you're staying with us, but the whole house is yours to access as well. There's an office with a desk and chair for getting work down, a killer living room with multiple comfy couches for lounging and soaking in the atmosphere, a fully stocked kitchen for cooking up anything you can dream up, multiple decks offering scenic overlooks and and a BBQ as well as a lovely outdoor custom built 10 foot table for hanging outside and watching the birds, trees and wildlife. Interaction with GuestsWe are more than happy to help you navigate your stay in the area from getting around, shopping, entertainment to finding those hidden local gems. We also respect people's privacy if you want to stay low key and do your own thing. We're usually out working during the day and home in the evenings, but work from home on occasion as well. We like to cook and are happy to share meals. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is quite with access to an incredible network of trails throughout two adjoining parks. You can be gone for 15 minutes or all day if you're so inspired to see bay views from high atop the East Bay ridge lines. We've got maps and trail recommendations for days. Getting AroundOur place is up on a hill making it mostly car dependent. There's plenty of street parking and it's free. We bike regularly to and from our place into Oakland/Berkeley (~8 miles each way) and BART into San Francisco, but the final hill leading up to our place is a steep one! The closest BART station is El Cerrito Del Norte 2.5 miles away. It's a quick ~10-12 minute drive or Uber/Lyft/Taxi usually costing about $7 one way. From BART you can access much of the Bay Area.
