The SpaceGreetings - - - We have a recently renovated, fully furnished, casual, comfortable home with all the amenities including cable TV and WiFi. We have a large, sunny family room, great for relaxing after a long day. The new pictures are at the start of the photo gallery and do not have the airbnb logo because we are awaiting a redo by an airbnb photographer. (The pre-renovation pictures are inaccurate but have the logo.) The bed in your room is queen-sized. The bathroom shown is a private bath for your use. We regret having to increase our rate recently due to the City of Santa Rosa levying a local "transient occupancy tax" of 12%. This is a tax on the traveler that we are required to collect. Hopefully, the City will put the funds to good use! Our home is located on the east side, very near Sonoma County wineries and a short drive to Napa County. It is a peaceful, lovely area on the edge of town with shopping within walking distance. There are lots of nearby walking and hiking opporunities as we are minutes away from Spring Lake, Annandale State Park, Hood Mountain State Park, and more. We are also very accessible to the quaint Town of Sonoma, San Francisco, the coast, and many attractions for a variety of day trips. We are a very congenial, semi-retired couple. Since I am in Wine Country, the guests are minutes away from many wonderful attractions including world-class wineries, the Russian River, Redwood forests, beaches along the coast, Wells Fargo Center for the Arts to name a few. The drive to the coast to Bodega and the drive to the city of Sonoma through the vineyards are not to be missed. Getting AroundThe downtown is less than a mile away. There are public transit bus lines a block away that go around the city and county. There is parking in my driveway for the guests' convenience when they are staying here. There is an Airporter Shuttle service to get from either SFO or OAK airports. But rental cars are probably best because then the guests can get around more easily in Sonoma County.

Interaction with GuestsWe like to greet our guests when they arrive, if we can, and make sure they have whatever they need, including recommendations. Once we have made intial contact we like to leave them alone to enjoy themselves and their privacy. The NeighborhoodI love this area! We are situated on the road to Calistoga, which is known for it's mineral springs and mud baths. On the way there you will find such unusual roadside attractions as the Petrified Forest, the Old Faithful Geyser and Safaris West. We are just 10 minutes from downtown Santa Rosa and we are also 15 minutes away from lovely downtown Healdsburg and hundreds of delightful wineries on the back roads of Sonoma County. The SpaceThe studio is a newly built unit that on the outside looks like an authentic 1940's garage, and on the inside is a modern and quaint studio apartment. In the Summer months you can enjoy our backyard and swimming pool (with a great tube style water slide!) The unit is detached from the main house and very well insulated. I think you'll see from our many wonderful reviews that guests love our poolside studio. The studio is well equipped with all of the cooking utensils you will need, fridge, gas stove, microwave, toaster, etc... You will find basics like spices and oil, sugar, etc... There is a French Press coffee maker and a tea selection (please bring your own coffee, I can't guarantee if there will be coffee on hand). There is a queen bed and a sofa (sofa sleeps one person quite comfortably) in the studio. There is also a fold out full size foam mat available upon request. Our home is located under large very old walnut trees, this brings shade and the occasional spider and bug. The pool area & pool house is shared between myself and my family and other Airbnb guests who are staying in the house, but you will find that it is rarely used and you will most likely experience much privacy poolside. ** Please note that to access the bathroom you will be stepping outside of the apartment for literally one step. This is via the pool room, not the outdoors. The bathroom is only yours, not shared with any other guests. *Confirmed guests PLEASE read your "Itinerary" once your stay is booked so you know how to check yourself in, where to park, etc. This property has self check in instructions. There is a market 1 block away, Santa Rosa's Historic Railroad Square is a mere 8 block walk, and downtown Santa Rosa (RUSSIAN RIVER BREWERY) is a mile away- a 20 minute walk. Our listings include a 12% local "hotel tax" for stays shorter than 30 days, this is included in the nightly price already- not added on later. Guest AccessPlease park on the street in front of my house, not in the driveway. Your studio has a full kitchen and bathroom (no bathtub, just a shower). You also have access to the shared pool room space, and the pool itself. Please ask before inviting guests over to swim. Interaction with GuestsI don't interact much with studio guests, if we run into each other I'm happy to introduce and chat for a few moments, if we are both out by the pool that is fine! I am happy to be of assistance so you are free to message me anytime, I am right next door. You might see other Airbnb guests, me and my family, or my neighbors during pool season at the pool, and in the small pool room by your unit. The pool is a big hit with all and you are very welcome to join in on swimming time anytime! There are plenty of times that you will have the pool areas to yourself too, it is not heavily used. The NeighborhoodI love that my neighborhood is so close to Hwy 101 & Hwy 12, Historic Railroad Square and Downtown. Our street is very secluded and private, a tree lined old fashioned dead end neighborhood street that many locals don't know exists even though it's so close to town. I am friends with many of my neighbors and feel incredibly safe here, though you will notice that our surrounding area is semi industrial. Getting AroundYou are very close to Hwy 101 which runs North & South, Hwy 12 that runs East & West, and within walking distance to downtown Santa Rosa. Santa Rosa has Lyft & Uber services as well as public transportation and traditional taxi cabs. There is little wait for taxi services and there is a bus stop a block from my house and the main bus terminal is a 20 minute walk. You can easily find wine tour info, many of the tour busses pick up at the Hyatt which is a 10 minute walk from here.

The SpacePlease Note: Additional cost (taxes, cleaning costs, etc.) have been factored into the daily rate posted. There are no additional charges. The 2-story air-conditioned home has hardwood floors downstairs and carpeting upstairs. Downstairs there are 2 large flat-screen TV’s. The guest bedroom upstairs has a queen-sized bed, mirror-door closet, flat screen TV, ceiling fan, clock radio, Wi-Fi access, and desk. A private bathroom with tub/shower is across the hall. A home-office with printer, fax, copier, scanner, desktop computer, etc. is also upstairs. There is a nicely landscaped backyard with a deck and patio where you can relax by an outdoor fire with a glass of local wine after a great day of site-seeing. Guest AccessDuring your stay, the home is essentially yours...laundry, kitchen, appliances, backyard, clubhouse amenities, etc. Feel free to make yourself a fresh cup of coffee in the morning and enjoy fruit or cereals. Things to See and Do Santa Rosa is in the heart of Sonoma County’s wine-country. It’s home to many great restaurants, a fun nightclub scene, a great air museum featuring the “First Responder” an F-15 Eagle the was the first plane to fly over New York city on 9/11, and the F-14 Tomcat featured in Tom Cruise’s film “Top Gun.” Santa Rosa is also the home of the late “Peanuts” creator Charles Schulz. His museum, gift shop, and ice arena are great places to visit. Just north of the city is Safari West, a private animal preserve with over 400 acres. It’s home to over 90 different species of about 900 exotic mammals and birds. Napa Valley is to the east, Mendocino County to the north. To the west, it's a beautiful 40 minute drive, through the Redwoods to the Pacific ocean. On the way, you may want to visit Korbel Champagne Cellars. It’s the largest champagne producer in the U.S. and one of the few remaining wineries with free tours and tastings. San Francisco is about 50 miles south, but you have to cross the Golden Gate Bridge to get there (darn!). Interaction with GuestsI stay out of the way, but am willing to provide tips on local attractions, restaurants, night-life, etc. I'm also familiar with San Francisco's attractions...If the weather's nice, we can even take my Jeep out to the ocean and grab lunch... The NeighborhoodLocated in Vista del Lago, a planned development, it's a short walk to the clubhouse where you'll find 2 heated pools, tennis courts, basketball court, hot tub, sauna, etc. The pools and hot tub are open daily (seasonal hours). Across the street from the complex is a beautiful 18-hole city-owned golf course (with a great restaurant) and park. Nearby is a small shopping center with Chinese, Japanese, Italian, and Mexican restaurants, shops, grocery and drug stores - and the all-important Starbucks... Getting AroundLocal bus service is 2 blocks away...Uber, Lift, and cab service are also available. Other Things to NoteThe home was destroyed by fire in 2007 - that's the bad news...the good news is that it has been completely rebuilt with the latest improvements and compliance with building codes. It has solar power, instant hot-water, and many other amenities.

The SpaceI love my mid-century modern home. I've decorated it with early 60's furniture and decor. The three upstairs bedrooms (two queen beds, one double) are available to rent. The space can comfortably accommodate 6 people. There's also an upstairs sitting room with TV and games, and an upstairs bathroom. I live in a downstairs suite and use the downstairs bath and kitchen. I serve coffee, tea, juice, toast and jam, yogurt, and granola in the mornings. Come join me and I'll tell you what I know about Sonoma County. My house is near the Joe Rodota bike trail if your a cycling enthusiast, and near the intersection of the east-west and the north-south freeways in Sonoma County if you're driving: really an ideal location from which to explore the coast, Wine Country, and the Redwoods. Guest AccessEverything listed above, and I have a patio out back. Interaction with GuestsI love to chat with new people, and I'm in retail, so I hope to be sensitive to each guest's level of desired interaction. It's entirely up to you. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is semi-rural, in a part of Sonoma County annexed by the city of Santa Rosa about a dozen years ago. My house is next to a housing development put in about 10 years ago, but my actual neighborhood is old Sonoma County becoming slowly gentrified. There's a junkyard (!) around the corner about a half mile away, and several small houses being slowly fixed up. I have a 400-year-old oak tree on my half-acre property, and the street is a seldom-traveled dog-leg. Quiet, but close enough to the freeway to get you around Sonoma County easily. Getting AroundThere is a bus stop about a half-mile away, but really the area is more conducive to automobile travel. I have plenty of off-street parking in my U-shaped driveway. Other Things to NoteThe AirBnB site won't let me show that there are three bedrooms unless I list as an entire house or apartment. I live in another part of the house, but there are three bedrooms available for guests, and one bathroom. Hope this helps.

The SpaceWe have two bedrooms and you may reserve one or both if traveling with others. My daughter named the two lovely rooms Sunflower Room and Paddle Room… Sunflower Room: Named after a painting of sunflowers adorning the wall, this room has two very comfortable twin beds (which may be pushed together to create a queen bed), soft pillows, duvet comforters, a nightstand full of books, small antique chair, dresser, and mirror in the closet for your belongings. His and Hers white bathrobes, towels and slippers await you. Paddle Room: (Listed separately) Taking its name from paddle wall decorations, this room has a very comfortable memory foam queen size bed along with soft pillows, duvet comforter, two nightstands, a small armchair that converts to an ottoman, a dresser with mirror and closet for your belongings, and a shelf full of books. His and Hers white bathrobes, towels and slippers await you. Main Guest Bathroom: A separate shared bathroom is facing both bedrooms across the hallway and has His and Hers vanity space, a wall-to-wall mirror, magnifying vanity mirror, hair dryer and a privacy door leading to the toilet and bathtub. Second Guest Bathroom: For guests occupying both bedrooms who are not related and/or do not wish to share the Main Guest Bathroom, we have another guest bathroom by the entrance hall, which has a vanity with a large mirror, toilet and a shower. This is your home away from home. It is spacious, with a formal living and dining room. A family room with a TV and fireplace opens to a large kitchen with a view to our backyard. A picturesque floral garden surrounds an outdoor dining area with BBQ. Enjoy your morning coffee, breakfast or a glass of wine and dinner in our backyard. Relax as you watch the hummingbirds and blue jays come in for a drink in the water fountain or the blue-belly lizard family scamper about. Sonoma County is beautiful year-round. Our house is located at the outskirts of Santa Rosa in a quiet neighborhood with easy access to country back roads and Hwy 101. You can enjoy the typical California weather: sunny warm days June-October, sunny mild days April-May, and mild to cool days November-March, with crisp, cool evenings in all seasons. Guest AccessUpon check-in our guests will have access to our formal living, dining and family rooms with TV and fireplace, as well as the backyard and garden. The kitchen is available to guests including the microwave oven, coffee/tea makers, cups and glasses. A breakfast with eggs, toast, cereal, coffee and tea is included. Our interaction with guests is based on their wishes to be private or social. We will happily enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine when we are invited to join you, or we will also respectfully leave you to enjoy your own vacation. We want you to experience an unforgettable home away from home experience with us. Just let us know your preference and we will honor your wish. We also have signature wine country experiences that you may wish to reserve for an added fee. Would you like to enjoy a healthy Mediterranean home-cooked dinner? Please inquire for sample dinner menus, and don’t forget to mention if you have food allergies. Would you be interested in a casual cooking class and enjoy your meal for dinner? The SpaceWe have two bedrooms and you may reserve one or both if traveling with others. My daughter named the two lovely rooms Paddle Room and Sunflower Room… Paddle Room: Taking its name from paddle wall decorations, this room has a very comfortable memory foam queen size bed along with soft pillows, duvet comforter, two nightstands, a small armchair that converts to an ottoman, a dresser with mirror and closet for your belongings, and a shelf full of books. His and Hers white bathrobes, towels and slippers await you. Sunflower Room: (Listed separately) Named after a painting of sunflowers adorning the wall, this room has two very comfortable twin beds (which may be pushed together to create a queen bed), soft pillows, duvet comforters, a nightstand full of books, small antique chair, dresser, and mirror in the closet for your belongings. You can enjoy the typical California weather: sunny warm days June-October, sunny mild days April-May, and mild to cool days November-March, with crisp, cool evenings in all seasons. We will happily enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine when we are invited to join you, or we will also respectfully leave you to enjoy your own vacation. Unusual new-build resort The Carneros Inn is a bold, contemporary vision of traditional local farm structures – the distinctive tin-roofed barns, silos and rancher's cottages dotted throughout Napa Valley have informed an ultra-modern 'agri-chic' aesthetic that marries old-school decked porches, cowhide rugs and rocking chairs with Le Corbusier chaises and a colour scheme Giorgio Armani would be proud of. And you'd have to search long and hard to find a much warmer welcome anywhere in the world.

At this time we are limiting our transactions to guests who have prior host reviews on record in their AirBNB profile. For stays longer than two nights, we recommend a visit to a local market for breakfast fixings, or eat out at one of the many fine cafes in the neighborhood. $$$$$$ Pricing - Ours is a 2-bedroom unit, but we don't ding you if you only use one room. Hence our base price ($99 Mo-Th, $149 Fr&Sa) is based on 1-2 people, with a $25 per person increase for 3 or more guests. (e.g., 4 guests would cost $149/night weeknights). Add to that the $50 cleaning fee and the AirBNB fee (up to 12%), and you have your total. We pay the local 12% occupancy tax, so you don't have to. Sweet!
