Having just opened in November 1996, after a complete renovation, the 14 rooms and 2 suites at the hotel are artfully decorated in a style reminiscent of the French Riviera. This European style boutique hotel is steeped in Sausalito history. Described as a bordello, and a place where gangster's and bootleggers called home. Built in a Mission Revival Style, and dating back to 1915, the hotel is located at a prime site in Sausalito facing the Historic Vina Del Mar Park. It is only steps from the San Francisco ferry harbor, and also is within walking distance to the many galleries and boutiques in Sausalito.

This is a private Suite halfway between an apartment and a hotel room. Sausalito is a great place to spend a night...or a few decades (I came here for three months from NYC...twenty-five years ago). If you're visiting San Francisco, this little village is right on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge...a charming alternative to big city hotels. It's a convenient HQ for trips to SF with easy access to the California Coast and the Wine Country. Nightly rates range from $99 for isolated single dates to $200 for holidays. This recently renovated modern unit is like a luxurious hotel suite: A separate bedroom and closet behind french doors (shown open and closed in the photos) with a comfy queen-size bed (and an iron & ironing board). A living area with a beautiful sectional and a gas fireplace (ignited by a remote). There's a small dining area and breakfast bar. Bathroom with Jacuzzi tub (with a European-style hand-held shower head, not one mounted on the wall), bathroom sundries and separate WC. It also has a big screen TV (with cable) and DVD player in the main room and a second little TV/VHR in the bedroom, as well as WiFi. There is no kitchen, but there is a mini-fridge, washer/dryer, microwave, coffee machine, coffee & tea, popcorn, condiments, disposable serving supplies, and a private patio. It is one beautiful floor, approximately 650 square feet, with an entrance off its own patio (with two tables). There's no lucious landscaping or pool, just a restful and private enclave. I do my best to juggle the check-in and check-out time needs of the Guests, looking for a compromise between them to allow enough time for a thorough cleaning. It's a half-block off Bridgeway (Sausalito's main drag), five stoplights to Highway 101 (five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and less than an hour to the wine country) with a bus stop at the corner and off-street parking. A private driveway leads to your front door (if you don't have a low-slung car like I do). It's within walking distance of the Post Office, Grocery, Banks and Restaurants. Just minutes from SF by car or ferry, it's a great getaway. Feel free to ask any questions.

The SpacePet Friendly!!! Comfortable king size bed, closet and chest of drawers, private bathroom with shower, free and easy on-street parking, owner occupied. Hosts are warm and friendly. Unique, funky wood-burning stove, a sweet mellow dog, warm and cozy home. 2 minute walk to bus, 5 minute walk to grocery store, 10 minute walk to boats, kayak rentals, beach, restaurant, 15 minute walk to downtown, ferry, shops/restaurants, great yoga studio. 5 miles from GG bridge, short drive from some of the most beautiful hiking in the world. 20 minute drive to Mt. Tamalpais, Muir Woods, amazing beaches, Marin Headlands. In addition to the king sized bed, we offer a full sized air mattress that can comfortably sleep 2 for an additional charge. Guest AccessYou will have access to your room and bathroom, and if renting the air mattress for an additional fee, you will have access to that room. Any other access is by special permission only, such as access to the kitchen, and will be decided on a case by case basis. Please inquire. Unless prior arrangement is made, the kitchen is not for guest use. Interaction with GuestsIf we are home and have time we will be happy to have a short chat. We have had guests appear to expect that we would be spending lots of time with them. This is not the case. You are very welcome, and we are quite busy and also live here. Often, we will engage briefly and politely and then go about our business. Please do not take this as an indication of unfriendliness. Our day jobs involve talking and listening a lot, so when we come home we need some down time. Other Things to NotePlease note that this is our home, and we live here full time. So the house will not present as a pristine hotel, because that is not what it is. It is clean, lived in and comfortable. Your room and bathroom will be very clean, the rest of the house is not kept to hotel standards as this is not a hotel experience. Please also note, our dog lives here. He will engage in normal dog behavior such as greeting you at the door, barking when he hears you come up the stairs, shedding fur. He occasionally barks at coyotes in the middle of the night. If you do not like dogs, please do not choose this listing. If there is any meanness to the dog, I will ask you to leave immediately. If there is shrieking in fear at the approach of my small friendly dog (yes, this has happened multiple times, sadly), I will ask you to leave. He lives here, this is his home.

The SpaceIMPORTANT NOTE: You do not need to ask if the rental is available. The calendar tab above is accurate. The studio apartment is private, and quiet. The retro modern apartment occupies the entire bottom floor of a 4 story private home. The home is on a street called Vista De Valle which translates into "Valley View" The house is on a hill overlooking Tennessee Valley in the Marin Headlands in the Golden Gate National Recreational Area. The windows look out towards trees and the hills of the Marin Headlands. The house is just a few doors down from the end of the street that opens up right up into the Marin Headlands. The apartment has its own separate entrance and staircase from the street. You have your own private deck outside your door. The tempurpedic style memory foam queen size bed is very comfortable. The bed is in it's own elevated space off the studio floor so the unit is more like a 1 bedroom because the studio space is clear and open with plenty of room even with a couch and dining set. The kitchen is well appointed to make any size meal. It has a gas stove, oven, microwave, toaster oven coffee machine, and full size refrigerator. The bathroom has a shower but no tub. The living area has a couch that could be slept on but would not be ideal for a tall person. For families with small children we offer a collapsible "Pak'N'Play" crib at no additional charge. We can also offer an additional inflatable double bed for larger groups. You have your own private staircase on the other side of the house from our entrance. The staircase winds through a garden from the street above to your own private entrance on the bottom floor. You will be staying in a National Park with the same designation as a place like Yosemite or Yellowstone, yet you will only be a 10 minute drive from San Francisco. Walk out the door straight into the National Park and hike on any of the dozens of trails to the nearby beaches, valleys, the Golden Gate Bridge, and horse stables. The horse stables are just a 15 minute walk away. Sign up to ride a horse into the 10,000 acre National Park that will be your back yard. Hike to a spot where you can look down on the Americas Cup Yacht Races this summer. Easily drive or take public transit into San Francisco. If you work in San Francisco but would rather stay in a peaceful setting there is convenient public transit nearby to take you into the city. Go sailing or have a fantastic meal in Sausalito. Check out Muir Woods National Monument and Stinson Beach. Or drive 40 minutes north to the heart of the wine country to go wine tasting and take in the views. Mill Valley and Vista De Valle is located in a very convenient location to see both SF and the beauty surrounding it. There is no shared space. The SpaceThe "Treehouse" is the lower unit of a duplex that is nestled in a little valley in Sausalito. It is built on pilings, on a hillside, surrounded by giant eucalyptus trees that are covered in vines, and because you are about mid-way up the tree it feels as if we are in an actual treehouse! The deck is a perfect place to have your morning coffee or tea, while sitting in the sun and watching the trees sway in the breeze. Below you can sometimes hear the babbling creek (when we've had enough rainfall). The apartment is small and quaint with one SHARED bathroom and two bedrooms. Your bedroom has a full size or double bed. There is a living room with a wood-burning fireplace, and a small kitchen and dining area. ARRIVAL: If and when possible, I can pick you up at the bus station at "Spencer Avenue/Monte Mar Drive" or from the ferry drop off, from San Francisco. Otherwise the Marin Airporter will offer to call a taxi to meet you there and bring you down to my apartment. I have a lock-box so guests can come in even if I'm not home. If you have a car, there is street parking very close by, within 1 block. There is No Parking in RED painted zones, and there are white markings showing where you CAN park on the road. You can drive up and drop off luggage and then go park the car. I welcome guests from around the world. I hope you will consider visiting this wonderful location, right in the middle of where you want to be and where you want to go! If you are interested, please send me an email and tell me a little about yourself, who you are traveling with, and why you want to come to Sausalito. And please share with me what you are looking for in a short or long term visit. Thanks! Guest AccessGuests are welcome to share the kitchen and I will be sure to make room for food in cabinets and the fridge. There is a lovely little grocery store just down the hill on Caledonia street, called DRIVER'S Market, where you can get anything you need. When using the kitchen, I just ask that you help to keep it tidy, and clean up afterwards. The bathroom is shared, and I have provided towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap for guests. There is also a hair dryer and space in a cabinet to leave toiletries. The living room is cozy and there is a wood-burning fireplace available for use. Guests may need to purchase wood bundles, although I sometimes have wood available. Wood can be purchased at Molly Stones grocery store in Sausalito. Interaction with GuestsMy interaction with guests varies depending on my schedule. I work 8AM-5PM and have a 45min commute Mon-Fri. Evenings I often go to yoga. Weekends I like to venture out and play in the Bay Area. Sometimes guests will join me! Depending on my plans, and the plans my guests have, we may hang at my place, cook together, make a fire in the fireplace and have a glass of wine or cup of tea or coffee on occasion. Or we may both be fully booked with things to do, and we only see one another in passing! I normally like to at least share some time getting to know my guests, however, and I will make an effort to at least plan one sit down during their stay. On occasion I'm traveling and I may not see my guests at all, in which case the lock-box comes in very handy. :-) The NeighborhoodTHIS IS A GREAT LOCATION! I'm straight up the hill from our local eat street and I can direct you to the best local places. There is plenty to see and do in Sausalito! You can walk to downtown to visit the shops and fantastic array of restaurants, take a bus or a ferry to San Francisco for the day, ride a sailboat around Angel Island for sunset, rent and ride a bike over the Golden Gate bridge into San Francisco, kayak or paddleboard around the house boats of Sausalito, or hike in the Marin Headlands to see sweeping views of the bay, San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge! And these are only a few of the many things to do. You may also choose to take a trip to Sonoma or Napa, for a day of wine tasting, check out Armstrong Woods for a hike where there are very few tourists, or head up coastal highway One, and have lunch in another small Marin county town, possibly grabbing some oysters from Tomales Bay! Getting AroundThere is a fun ferry that goes to the San Francisco Ferry Building, AKA, The Embarcadero. I recommend clipper cards for anyone who will be relying on public transportation. The Marin Airporter is the best deal and best bet to get you from the airport to a stop off the 101 that is very close to my house, (and all uphill from where I live... a taxi to get up there, or down, is a good idea and totally available. The Marin Airporter driver will call one for you.) If guests have a car they can get around easier, because in Marin County the public transportation isn't so great. But if you like to walk and hike you will love it here. Bring good walking shoes! Other Things to NoteIMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: My upstairs neighbor is a professional French Horn player and can sometimes be heard practicing during the day!

The SpaceJust 12 minutes across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco, this unique floating guest cottage offers the very best of the Sausalito houseboat experience. Located at the end of one of Marin’s most coveted houseboat docks, the Yellow Ferry Harbor, this freestanding floating home blends the nostalgia of the houseboat experience of the 1960’s and 70’s with today’s amenities. The last boat on the northward leg of the dock, the floating guest cottage has sweeping views of the bay, the surrounding rolling hills, and in the distance, the majestic slopes of Mt. Tamalpais. An inviting public jetty extends into the bay between the cottage and the scores of sailboats berthed in the nearby Richardson Bay Marina. The gentle music of their riggings in the breeze will mesmerize you. Enter through the main front room, whose dining table for six, comfortable sofa, and captain's chair can easily accommodate small gatherings of friends and family. The potbelly gas stove adds warmth and coziness on a rainy day. Cooking is a pleasure with a full-sized gas range, oven, and other modern appliances. At the rear of the main floor, the smaller of two bedrooms sleeps two in a queen sized bed with comfortable Tempurpedic mattress. The large north-facing window frames the Marina and Mt. Tam beyond. The entire second floor is a master bedroom, a luxurious double bed nestled under the graceful curve of its arched ceiling. On a sunny day – and this area is known locally as ‘The Banana Belt’ – enjoy outdoor dining on the spacious upper deck with its panoramic views. Or sit and read in the Adirondack chairs on the front float, surrounded by flowers. For recreation, paddle out in the kayaks or pedal away on the great Marin bike trail or to the Sausalito Ferry for the half-hour cruise to San Francisco. (No children under 13 in the kayak.) Bike rentals are a mile away. Otis Redding fans will appreciate that he wrote Dock of the Bay while a guest on one of Sausalito's storied docks, some say this one. You are assured a serene and magical time, watching the tides roll away (thank you, Otis) and enjoying the herons and egrets, frequent visitors to your front yard. This is the ideal rental for a couple or a single guest looking to get away from the everyday, but still seeking the convenience and fun that Sausalito offers. Families will experience the San Francisco Bay from a unique vantage point. Ideal for families with middle-schoolers or teenagers. Parents should realize that from a safety perspective living on a houseboat is no different than being on a boat. For that reason, no children under 10 are allowed as renters or as guests of the renters. Two couples may also share the guest cottage. Since we charge only a modest cleaning fee, we expect guests to leave the floating guest cottage clean and in good order. If not, a reasonable deduction will be taken from your security deposit. We do not expect guests to wash or change the bed linens or towels. Also, local Marin County taxes are included in the fee. The rental includes a parking space in the Yellow Ferry Harbor lot, and your houseboat is located just a five minute drive from downtown Sausalito, ten minutes from Mill Valley, twelve minutes across the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco and approximately an hour to the wine country. This is a truly special residence in an unforgettable natural setting.

Mostly you will enjoy the views of the water and hills of Marin County from the living, dining and family rooms, and from all bedrooms as well. Truly soul soothing to see the water and the boat activity around the Bay. Guest AccessThe entire house will be for your use. There is Wireless internet access as well as TV with HBO and program recording for catching your favorite shows if you miss them while out sightseeing. Interaction with GuestsWe will not be at the property during your stay. However, we are very responsive via phone or email to any questions about the house or the Bay Area, or concerns you may have, and we have a local person to contact in the event of a problem. This flat is one level of a peaceful mid-century duplex that feels like a tree house and reveals the bay as you step out the front door. Based on the City of Sausalito ban on short-term rentals this unit is only available for rentals of 30 days or more. I'm sorry but current limitations within the Airbnb UI do not allow my home to show up if I only list as 30+ days or more -- know that I will not accept short-term rentals as I do not want to subject my guest to additional taxes, fines or harassment. If you want more information on the current short-term rental situation in Sausalito I am happy to provide it but know that it currently is against local laws to rent for less than 30 days. Very nice place for one or two but in a pinch can accommodate up to four family members or good friends. Very comfortable space with high thread-count linens on the queen sized bed (in bedroom) and the couch is queen sized convertible in front of the fireplace. A great retreat in one of the most sought after spots in the world. Sausalito is a San Francisco Bay Area treasure and this comfortable, stylish home is located 1 mile north of the Golden Gate Bridge. So you have the best of San Francisco available to you in a beautiful quiet setting. And, it is an easy launch pad to explore the California coast, Muir Woods, Mt. Tamalpais and the wine country. Or, you can just spend your time walking around Sausalito exploring the lovely village with its things to do, galleries, great restaurants and shops. Fully furnished featuring Euro kitchen (gas stove, dishwasher, gourmet tools and more), fireplace, wifi, flat-screen tv with premium cable & DVD, stereo and a nice deck to dine and relax. Recently renovated with new carpet and kitchen floor (2014), paint, some new furnishings and a completely new kitchen (2012). Lots of light, nice deck with a partial bay view from the deck. The surrounding trees and hills give that tree house feeling. Great place for a vacation or to stay for work in the S.F. Bay Area. Sausalito is just over the Golden Gate Bridge or a ferry ride from San Francisco and a it is an easy, short trip to the wine county and coast. If you are working in San Francisco your commute is easier and quicker than many S.F. neighborhoods. And, with the races leading up to the America's Cup you are just 3 blocks from the bay. Off-street parking but you don't need a car with great public transportation just blocks away. Non-smokers only. Will consider pets with require a pet payment and extra deposit. Discounts given for long stays. This home is an easy walk to the bus or ferry to whisk you to San Francisco or you can stroll the charming waterside village of Sausalito with great restaurants, shops and galleries. Parks, tennis courts, hiking and bike trails are just steps away. The host has lived in the area more than 20 years and will fill you in on all local secrets for whatever your passion is -- wine tasting, yoga, hiking, biking, shopping, food and more. Due to two recent unfortunate issues with pets I have to take a more restrictive policy on allowing pets. I will consider pets but you will have to agree to additional house rules and an additional deposit. Guest AccessGuests have their own off-street parking space, a guest parking pass for on-street parking for one additional vehicle. There is space to store your bike or other some outdoor gear. You are the only one to have access to the upper floor of this duplex and have your own private deck. Guests need to have 3 levels of verification and a photo on Airbnb to book. All guests need to understand that this listing is in a residential neighborhood and be respectful of our neighbors and town. Please treat our town with the respect you expect for your own and keep noise levels down between 11 pm and 7 am. Interaction with GuestsAs your host, I'm here for you as you need me. You'll be given a through walk though upon arrival, have access to information on all items in the flat as well as information on the area. Know that I'm here for ANY questions, any time day or night but I won't be interfering with your stay at my place. But we will likely have some interaction to schedule housekeeping. And, as you plan your departure we'll coordinate check out time and plans. The NeighborhoodThis flat is in the Old Town section of Sausalito on the South end of town and is 4 blocks from the bay, 1 mile north of the Golden Gate Bridge. There is a great neighborhood market and is an easy walk to the Center of Sausalito where you will find lots of shops, restaurants, galleries, cafes, yoga studio, movie theatre and two ferries to San Francisco. Getting AroundWhile Sausalito is a walker's paradise, there is great public transportation with bus stops for northbound (Marin) and southbound (San Francisco) busses just 3 ½ blocks from the flat. The ferries to San Francisco are located less than a mile away and are an easy walk. The Marin Airporter and Marin Door-to-Door offer transportation from SFO and Oakland airports as well as from the Amtrack train station and the San Francisco cruise ship dock. Local cabs are abundant should you need them, there are lots of places to rent bikes and a few car rental agencies that will pick you up should you want to rent a car. Other Things to NoteYour comfort is paramount to me so please let me know your interests and I'm happy to recommend local places for you to enjoy your interests during your stay in Sausalito and as you explore the Bay Area and California.

Includes the following: - 1 King size bed with European pillow top mattress - Living room - 2nd bedroom full size platform bed - Aero bed for additional guest upon request - Hair dryer - Iron and ironing board - Washer/dryer - Dishwasher - TV/Comcast cable - Wifi DSL included - changed to Comcast - Utilities included - Garden - Car deck parking for 1 car behind my mini or on the street - free parking - Water views This house is built on the site of the old water tower in Sausalito so the front garden is enclosed by a rock wall and being about 20 steps down from the car deck it is very secluded and private. I had been living in China and bought this house when I decided to return to the San Francisco Bay Area. It was owned by an opera singer who lived in it from the time it was built. When I bought the house it was in disrepair but over the last two years I have renovated it and brought back the light and life that I know was once here. This property is only available for short term rentals of 30 days or more as per Sausalito short term rental laws. Guest Access- 1 King size bed with European pillow top mattress - Living room - 2nd bedroom full size platform bed - Aero bed for additional guest upon request - Hair dryer - Iron and ironing board - Washer/dryer - Dishwasher - TV/Comcast cable - Wifi DSL included - changed to Comcast - Utilities included - Garden - Car deck parking for 1 car behind my mini or on the street - free parking - Water views Plus the garden has a dining table for 4 and 2 smaller bistro tables. There are lights for the garden for the evening. Interaction with GuestsThere is a housekeeper who will make sure everything is organized for you. I live there from time to time so we may or may not meet. The NeighborhoodSausalito is a great mix of salty sailors, art galleries and up and coming restaurants. There are numerous places to eat on the water or along the locals street. And the city is a ferry ride of 15 min drive away. I love the fact that although Sausalito sees it's fair share of tourists, it's twinned with Portofino, the locals still have a lot of influence with summer jazz in the park and music in local restaurants nightly. I wouldn't live anywhere else in the Bay Area. It's magical. Getting AroundThere is a ferry service to SF as well as buses. They are both a walk away. Other Things to NoteThere will be wine, truffles and breakfast goodies (tea, coffee, granola) for you upon your arrival.

Mill Valley and Sausalito offer a range of different types of cuisine, grocery stores and gas. Our new favorite place to shop and pick up food to take home is the Good Earth Market. If you are coming from hwy 101, you will pass it when you make a left turn onto hwy 1-Shoreline HWY. It is sooo good, but a bit pricey. Guest AccessGuests have access to the hammock, hot tub, high speed internet and Apple TV. Muir Beach is about a 10-15 minute walk from the house. You can also walk to The Pelican Inn for a meal and catch many great trails from the house and from Muir Beach. Green Gulch Farms Zen Center is about a 20 minute walk. I love their public Sunday program where there is meditation followed by a dharma talk, free tea and house baked muffins, bread and fresh picked produce for sale. They also have lovely grounds to walk along with quiet places to sit and take in the good energy. You can find more info on their website. Interaction with GuestsMy family and I enjoy hiking and biking with our dog Finn. We garden, work, travel, do yoga and have a full life! : ) We are often times not home to greet guests. I try my best to check in with guests via messaging before they arrive and make sure their is clarity regarding directions, parking and how to locate the room. I usually see guests at some point in passing since I am home most evenings. We encourage arriving before dark. Our grounds are fairly well lit, but without streetlights, it is usually very dark and can be more difficult to find. The NeighborhoodThe Muir Beach community is a small tight knit colorful community of 155 homes. Many of the residence live at MB full time, so it does not have that vacation-rental kind of feeling. You will find friendly neighbors that are artists, dog lovers and nature lovers in our circle. It feels very safe and wonderfully removed from the rest of the world Getting AroundUnfortunately, we don't have any public transportation. You will need a car to get around. Other Things to Note***Important: Parking: Once you drive down the steep driveway, you will see a parking area on the right. Please park in front of the guest parking sign leaving enough room for 2 other cars to park next to you on your right side. WHERE IS THE GETAWAY? Once you get out of your car you will be facing a grassy area. To the left of the grass is a gate which you will take down a flight of stairs passing the hot tub and hammock. At the end of the deck you will see another gate. Once through, you will see inside the room. The window you are looking through has a dark handle. The wall slides open and you are in : ) There are towels for shower and hot tub in the room along with coffee and teas. The room can be bright, we have community eyes shade or you can bring your own if you are sensitive to the light. IF YOU ARE ARRIVING AT NIGHT: It is dark here in the woods! Please bring a flashlight or, let us know so we can help you. There are some lights on the path and stairs, but might not be enough for some people to feel comfortable finding their way the first time. Hope this helps! Texting is the best way to reach me quickly : ) * Our 3.5 year old dog named Finn is vocal which can sound intimidating because he is loud. Finn is a herding dog so he tends to be vocal by nature. He is harmless and will run up to you barking only to want to greet you. He is very playful and loving behind the initial barking. Restaurants: There is one restaurant !/4 mile away called The Pelican Inn, They have pub food in the bar area and a regular menu for lunch, dinner and brunch on the weekends. 10 minutes up the road on HWY 1 is Stinson Beach where they have about 3 other restaurants. The one we like is called The Parkside Cafe. They have local organic produce and fresh fish with specials of the day. They bake all their own bread and sweets. In Mill Valley which is back down where you came in from has a variety of restaurants. I like a fairly new place called Beer Works and the Sweetwater Music hall serves food, beer, cocktails and has live music on the weekends. *Cibo in Sausalito is a wonderful cafe for a delicious breakfast or lunch. They have sweet and savory pastries and desserts as well. There is outdoor seating and has a european feel.

The SpaceSausalito is a great place to spend a night...or a few decades (I came here for three months from NYC...twenty-five years ago). If you're visiting San Francisco, this little village is right on the north side of the Golden Gate Bridge...a charming alternative to big city hotels. It's a convenient HQ for trips to SF with easy access to the California Coast and the Wine Country. Nightly rates range from $99 for isolated single dates to over $200 for holidays and special events (when a minimum number of nights may be in effect). This recently renovated modern unit is like a luxurious hotel suite: A separate bedroom and closet behind french doors (shown open and closed in the photos) with a comfy queen-size bed. A living area with a beautiful sectional, gas fireplace (ignited by a remote). There's a small dining area and breakfast bar. Bathroom with Jacuzzi tub (with a European-style hand-held shower head, not one mounted on the wall), bathroom sundries and separate WC. It also has a big screen TV (with cable) in the main room and a second little TV in the bedroom, as well as WiFi. There is no kitchen, but there is a beverage cooler, washer/dryer, iron, ironing board, microwave, coffee machine, coffee & tea, popcorn, condiments, serving supplies, and a private patio. There is a driveway exclusive to the Suite which leads to the private entrance but most Guests prefer to park on the street which, unlike most Sausalito roads, is wide and flat. Some cars which are low to the ground (like my litttle convertible) can't cross the crest of the sidewalk, so it's good that there is ample street parking. It is one beautiful floor, approximately 650 square feet, with an entrance off its own patio (with two tables). There isn't a pool or luscious landscaping (thanks to the drought, the lawn has reverted to a field), just a restful and private enclave. I do my best to juggle the check-in and check-out time needs of the Guests, looking for a compromise between them to allow enough time for a thorough cleaning. It's a half-block off Bridgeway (Sausalito's main drag), five stoplights to Highway 101 (five minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and less than an hour from the wine country) with a bus stop at the corner and off-street parking. A private driveway leads to your front door (if you don't have a low-slung car like I do). It's within walking distance of the Post Office, Grocery, Banks and Restaurants. Just minutes to SF and a short drive to the Redwoods, Beaches, and Wine Country. It is one mile to the Golden Gate Ferry which goes to downtown SF and The Blue & Gold Ferry which goes to Fisherman's Wharf. It's a great getaway. Feel free to ask any questions. Interaction with GuestsI give a brief tour and then disappear. However, I strongly encourage Guests to text me or eMail me or call me if there is any problem at all. The NeighborhoodThe Suite is two blocks from an upscale supermarket and walking distance to a dozen restaurants, from Mexican to Chinese to French casual. Within one mile, there are over a dozen Italian, American, Thai, and Sushi Ran, one of the most-awarded Japanese restaurants in California. Getting AroundThere is a Golden Gate Transit bus stop on the corner (1/2 block) and the Ferry to San Francisco is one mile south.

The SpaceSausalito and its famous houseboats have long attracted CEOs, writers, artists, scientists, filmmakers, and radicals to its blue waters and calm shores on the San Francisco Bay. It's here where Otis Redding penned the unforgettable song Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay. If you are looking to recharge your batteries, you can't get closer to the water and surrounding nature than this. This 2BR / 2BA recently remodeled houseboat features stylish contemporary finishes and feels more like a luxe hotel suite than boat living. The houseboat sits waterside and offers 270 degree views of the bay, including Sausalito Hillside, Mount Tamalpais, Belvedere/Tiburon, Angel Island, and Alcatraz and SF in the distance. Best of all, the location is unbeatable and in the center of where all the action is: wine bars, dive bars, live jazz, award winning restaurants, and casual dining abound.Bus to ferry in 5 mins to go visit SF, or stay in and cook in the full kitchen and watch the sunset from the many decks. This is 1200 plus, sq ft of California indoor-outdoor living at its finest. Free 1 car parking. Free internet wi-fi . Max occupancy is 4 adults , and that would be tight as one bedroom is bunk beds. Interaction with GuestsBy text and phone when necessary. The NeighborhoodYou can walk to so much, and catch a bus or rent a bike if you don't want to drive. The SpaceMagical Muir Beach Getaway Just steps from the beach. VIEW, VIEW, VIEW! Every guest has commented on how the view is even better in real life and how they have had the best sleep in years! Could be the sound of the waves, or view of the sunrise on the water upon awakening and because the property consists of 2 acres of bird and animal life, the singing birds are a daily alarm clock. One thing is for sure the view and location is amazing amazing! A guest mentioned recently the reason he thought the view was strikingly unusual from the unit because you can see the back of the wave as well as the front, so from the unit not only is the view the length of the beach and the coastline stretching to SF (including views of SF) but what's really remarkable is you see the back of the wave as it forms and the front as it crashes, it's a very unique view point. And to see the SF lights at night is fantastic! Walk to the beach, world famous Zen center, bike and hike on Mt Tam! Muir Woods is two miles away and San Francisco is a 30 minute drive. From the bedroom and tiled outdoor sitting area view San Francisco and the SF lights at night. View the beach and ocean from every room. Fall asleep to the sound of the ocean waves! One bedroom apartment (in-law) is a complete unit, not a studio or share, the one bedroom unit has a nice size living room, bedroom with queen size bed, full bath with claw-foot tub and shower, full kitchen. This is not a share unit, it is a fully equipped one bedroom unit. Living room equipped with TV and DVD player, games and wireless internet. A variety of snacks are complimentary, sometimes more sometimes less. :) The kitchen is fully equipped with built-in cooktop and countertop oven (new technology). The bedding is quality with 500 + count 100% cotton or cotton linen mix. Beach towels and chairs and ice chest are in the unit for your use and miscellaneous bath products; help yourself!. Coffee and a verity of teas are complimentary. Guest AccessYard, house and miles and miles of parkland! Interaction with GuestsI like to give guest complete privacy, but don't hesitate to ask if anything is needed, or would like to hear stories about the area or neighborhood. The NeighborhoodVery friendly and wonderful! Getting AroundWe have Uber in the area now! Take ferry to and from SF and uber around without dealing with San Francisco traffic or costly hard to find parking. Plenty of parking at the house and throughout Marin (public places), but SF is tough. Other Things to NoteThe road is a two way one lane road and common throughout Marin. It is flat, so not as bad as other areas. The place has plenty of parking and this is uncommon for Marin / Muir Beach!

The SpaceThe Cottage This private, beautiful, stand-alone meticulously clean and comfortable cottage has just been completely renovated and fully updated, including a brand new kitchen, and awaits your arrival. It’s a terrific location in the heart of Sausalito’s coveted sunny ‘banana belt’ and centrally located to town, the ferry and all that Sausalito has to offer. Walk the three blocks to Caledonia Street (the local's part of town), and enjoy fantastic restaurants, music, a movie theater, and shops. Not much further than Caledonia brings you to downtown Sausalito or to a sandy beach on the bay, where you can rent a kayak, paddleboard, or just enjoy the weather and water. The Cottage is about 500 square feet with a very functional floor plan plus a spacious sunny, south-facing 250 square foot private deck perfect for a BBQ, entertaining and outdoors enjoyment. With a fresh and airy all white painted interior, lovely whitewashed gray hardwood floors, large floor to ceiling bay window, shingle exterior and galvanized farm lights, The Cottage has wonderful character throughout. Fully furnished with all necessities including queen size bed, dining table and chairs, side tables, couch, rugs, dishware and much more all in an urban cottage style. It has one bedroom (with queen bed), a living/dining area and the newly renovated, light and airy kitchen is well equipped, including new appliances and microwave oven. The bathroom has been renovated and there is also a private laundry room with washer/dryer. Other features are a 32' LCD TV, digital cable and wireless Internet. The Cottage also comes with private off-street parking and plenty of street parking right in front. We’re told it oozes with charm and character. This property is located in a single-family neighborhood of fine homes in the best weather area of Sausalito. The neighborhood is very peaceful, convenient, friendly and neighboring homes are charming and of unique design - some from the turn of the century. It is surrounded by trees, sits on the corner of Turney Street & Girard Avenue, and is set back for privacy but accessible and an easy walk to town. The Sausalito ferry and main downtown area are a 10-15 walk and short 2-minute drive. There’s a bus stop located at the end of Turney Street, just 3 blocks away, taking you into San Francisco and beyond. Drive less than 3 minutes to Highway 101 and Golden Gate Bridge. Rodeo Beach is just 10 minutes away. Or venture to Point Reyes and Stinson Beach (15 miles). Muir Woods is 9 miles away, Napa Valley and Sonoma is an hour away! Guest AccessSee description under 'The Space' Interaction with GuestsAs needed The NeighborhoodLove everything about it and my neighbors. It's definitely home. Getting AroundYes and super close, easy and convenient. See information under 'The Space'. Other Things to NotePlease note - 1 week minimums or longer stays only. Thanks.
