The SpaceSugar Pine Chalet is a charming and functional Tahoe home nestled beneath towering Pine and Aspen trees on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe. This home recently underwent a major remodel that includes new floor and wall coverings, new bathrooms, a new kitchen, and new decks. The home was designed to retain the charm of a Tahoe home while providing the comfort of luxury features such as granite slab counter tops and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen, tile in the bathrooms, and hardwood floors. The home has two heat sources including a central heat system and a gas stove heater in the living area to keep you warm on those crisp Tahoe evenings. Enter the main floor of the house from the front deck and be welcomed into the combo kitchen/living area. Head down the hallway to find the first bathroom, the rec room, and back bedroom with 2 full sized beds. The upstairs level includes a bedroom with a queen bed and private access to a second level deck. Also upstairs is another bedroom with a queen sized bed and full bathroom, with travertine tile and a shower/tub combo. Outside the home, you'll find a flat lot that adjoins to a conservancy lot, proving plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors. There is plenty of parking for your cars, boats, or RVs. The new front decks, from the upstairs bedroom, and below on the main level provide a comforting atmosphere to relax day or night. In the summer and fall we provide outdoor seating on the deck with a table and six chairs, and umbrella. There is a gas BBQ on the deck as well. Upstairs are two adirondack chairs, and out back a fire pit and adirondack chairs for the crisp evenings. The location of this home is exceptional from an activities and amenities perspective. Sugar Pine State Park, with hiking, biking, and cross country ski trails, is a 2 block walk from the house. Lake Tahoe is a 10 minute walk and our home has a private HOA beach, pier, and buoys (must be reserved in advance), for your close enjoyment. Homewood Mountain Ski Resort is a 7 minute drive, door to door, from the house. There are a handful of good restaurants and bars to walk to, including Where We Met (espresso & gelato) & West Side Pizza in downtown Tahoma (7 minute walk) and the PDQ market for food, groceries, and deli (10 minute walk). A short drive or short bike ride will take you to Obexer's General Store, The Old Tahoe Cafe, The West Shore Cafe, and The Swiss Chalet. Chamber's Landing bar/beach for dining/drinks on the Lake is open during the summer, and a host of other charming options to keep you occupied and well fed during your stay. The house is a 10 minute drive from Sunnyside restaurant/resort, Firesign Cafe, The Tahoe House Cafe, and all of the restaurants and amenities that Tahoe City has to offer. You can also drive South on Highway 89 to Meeks Bay Resort (3 miles away) and Camp Richardson (be sure to stop at the ice cream shop) and South Lake Tahoe which is about a 25 minute drive. Or you can hop on the trolley that takes you down to South Lake. Additionally, Squaw Valley USA and Alpine Meadows are a 25 minute drive, and NorthStar Ski Resort is about a 35 minute drive. Sugar Pine Chalet is the perfect balance of a place to 'get away', while still having amenities to which you can walk, bike, or drive, to satisfy all of your vacation desires. We may consider a dog. I am happy to share ideas and information on surrounding area. I am not available to meet in person typically however I have local maintenence/cleaner that are available in case of immediate needs. I am however always available for questions or concerns via text, email, phone. The Cabin is on the historic side of the Lake "Magical West Shore" Bordering Desolation wilderness and right next to California' Beautiful State Parks. Sugar Pine Point is just within a short bike ride from the cabin! There is a bus called Tart, the "Tahoe Trolley" (summer only) as well as a Free Ski Shuttle going to over to Sqauw, Alpine, Homewood and other ski resorts. There is no wifi in the cabin however I have been successful using my "Personal Hotspot" on my phone to connect to internet. I do try and "disconnect" a bit to enjoy nature and highly recommend. This home is not just a rental - it is a home-away-from-home that the owners are willing to share with our guests The entry level offers a spacious open living / dining / kitchen area complete with granite counter tops and an extremely well stocked kitchen that will make cooking a pleasure or perhaps you would enjoy just curling and reading by the fireplace (sounds good to me!). Also on the first level is a bedroom with a queen size bed, full bath with jetted tub and the large laundry room that lets you onto the large side deck with hot tub. Up the stairs you will find a spacious master bedroom with it's own balcony and pull-out sofa sleeper, a third bedroom with a double bed and two singles and a shared full bath (No Shower). The owner wants you to have a wonderful vacation even if you never leave the house by offering full cable including Showtime & HBO plus DVD's, plush towels, cozy linens and of course the stress and ache relieving hot tub. It's obvious that the owner takes pride in every corner of every room - and it shows! This is one of our favorite homes. Meeks Bay Resort & Marina is only a few minutes drive, and offers amenities such as water sports rentals, hiking trails, a brand-new biking trail, private beach with swimming area, BBQ / picnic area, beach volleyball, and fishing! Please - no smoking, no pets. Relying only on pictures on the internet we really did not know what to expect. Upon arriving, we decided the pictures did not do the cabin justice. The house was spacious, clean, and modern. The kitchen was well stocked with staples and paper goods. We were five adults, Though there are two bathrooms, there is only one shower. This could be a little inconvenient if you had a larger number in your party. Additional amenities include: on-line book, vacation.
