The SpaceThis is a perfect place to rest and relax when traveling between Southern and Northern California or traveling to Sequoia and Yosemite. With the ideal four seasons, you have California sunshine along with winter's light snow. My guests have access to most of the house. They tend to be very polite and (URL HIDDEN) favorite kind of guests. The house is 4,000 sq. ft of comfortable space located nearly a mile high. A great view of the city lights at night. We are 7 minutes from the freeway, restaurants, grocery stores, and the only Starbucks in town. All of my guests have been respectful and fun to share my home with. It's been a pleasure meeting and getting to know every one of them. Guest AccessMy guests have access to most of the house. They tend to be very polite and (URL HIDDEN) favorite kind of guests. (Please read) NOTE: Space is listed as 1 private room but I actually can provide two bedrooms for families of four or two couples. The extra bedroom is $49 a night. The way to select this is to book for 3 guests so that you are charged the extra guest fee of $49. If you are a party of 4, please book for three and just communicate to me the exact number of guests in our message thread. The SpaceBedroom is in a 1920s home, with plenty of character. Such as the wonderfully placed doors, creaky floors, "outdated" wood paneled walls, oddly cold day room, pleasantly aromatic Library, and so on.. this place has many unique pros and cons; however there is plenty of room to relax and enjoy a tranquil environment. Pick an awesome restaurant or cook at home. Kitchen is a bit dated but has what is needed to prepare meals, television is available, but with all the sights in town, I doubt you would want to even turn it on. This room is attached to the Library which is a great spot for readers to sit and enjoy a book. Day room is also a good reading spot with plenty of day time light. Living room has a Fireplace, although it is an insert, it provides good heat and good ambiance. Guest AccessThe room is accessible through the main house, and through a private side entrance (ask about the caution) Bedroom has its own open patio area. Guests will have access to kitchen*, dining room*, living room* area, library, day room and back yard*. *The kitchen, living room, dining room and back yard area is a common area that might be shared with other guests. Please be friendly to each other. Day room and library are exclusive to one room. Interaction with GuestsSomeone will be there to check you in and out. And available by phone for any questions or concerns. I work in Los Angeles, so i may not be around the entire stay. I will try to be there for your check in, if not i will have a family or friend there to help you check in and answer any questions your may have upon arrival. The NeighborhoodNeighborhood has its charm. Majority of the people are great. Local police are very friendly. The park across the street is a great place to walk/relax in. (The back yard too ) Indeed it has a small town feel. Horseback riders roam the streets on weekends. Local Restaurants are all pretty great i have yet to have a bad experience. There are many choices, such as BBQ, Thai, Japanese, Mexican, Italian, and much more.. Getting AroundThere is a Taxi in town, no buses or trains, so feet, bikes and cars make for good transportation. Tehachapi Taxi (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Other Things to NoteThe house is old, so there are noises, smells and sights you may not find in newer houses. The living room is mostly wood, so it has a wood smell. ( I like it) The bathroom is all tile ( I think it feels cold) The front door is one of two in town! There is a little updating being done, so some things might break from age. Just report it, don't get scared, it happens.

The SpaceSmall space, with its little charm and basic needs. Sits at the end of the house so you dont get the noise of the main rooms. But you do need to travel a maze of halls and doors to get to it. And the floors are creaky and sound does travel easy on this side of the house, you'll end up hearing other guests walk the hall and use the doors. You definitely will hear the train as it passes by at night. I have been advised by some previous guests that don't have heavy sleeping habits. The train passes about 3 blocks from the house, so please be aware of that when booking. Guest AccessShared bathroom, kitchen, living room. Interaction with GuestsI try to be in the house as much as possible but I work in Los Angeles which makes it difficult, some days my mother is in the house to greet guests. Otherwise its my friend in town. The NeighborhoodThis neightborhood is a very peaceful location, with all the small town charm. People are friendly. Parking is great. The views are often breathtakingly awesome. The train passes by at night, (for light sleepers) its only 3 blocks away. I've gotten used to the sound. I have had some guests woken up by the sound. So just a fair warning. Getting AroundPublic transit is nill to none. But there is a taxi in town, along with a "dial-a-ride" system. Otherwise its your own vehicle, bicycle or by foot. Other Things to NoteFloor is creaky, so you may hear other guests walking the hallway.

The SpaceThe cabin, nicknamed "The Dollhouse," has two main rooms and a sleeping lofts with futons. A front deck overlooks the entire Tehachapi Mountain range, and you can drive right up to the base of the cabin. Indoor kitchenette (fully outfitted with camping equipment for cooking but no running water), no electricity, outdoor sink, outhouse, outdoor cold-water shower, several deck sites scattered across 22 acres for pitching tents or stargazing. It's like staying in a fire lookout--you're camping "in" instead of camping out. You will need to bring everything you would for a campout. There are limited kitchen items, so please come self-sufficient. Guest AccessThe whole tiny home is yours to enjoy. There are a few cozy spaces to hide away for privacy, and each area has windows that allow you to catch the view. Interaction with GuestsHost is available by phone for any questions. The NeighborhoodThe area is private forest--no stores, no utilities, and the only cell service is at the ridgetop a couple hundred feet above the cabin. Neighbors are few but everyone enjoys the peace and quiet, so please respect that. Getting AroundYou'll need a car to reach the cabin. Spring, summer, and fall weather are pleasant on the mountain and the road is passable with a regular passenger vehicle. The last few miles to the top of the mountain are on a dirt road. The cabin is a half mile above a locked gate. Other Things to NoteThis is a rustic experience--not a house, not a B&B, and not a resort. It's a glorified campground with complete privacy and virtually no amenities. This is where you come to get away from it all, not to bring any luxuries with you.

The Space*Enjoy your own secluded, wilderness retreat *Great Bird Hunting, Camping, Hiking, and Horseback Riding *Enjoy the wide variety of animals and other wildlife that inhabit the area Usage: The property can be used as a seasonal retreat to escape city noises, crime, crowds, and pollution. It also offers excellent Game Bird and Varmint hunting. While exploring the area you may discover old mines hidden in the mountains or different geological areas and wildlife. Guest AccessLocated 125 miles north of Los Angeles, in beautiful Kern County California The NeighborhoodThe Antelope Valley is often described as “high desert,” accounting for the elevations of around 3050 feet in its southern foothills to the playas of Rosamond and Rogers Dry Lakes at about 2270 feet. The whole floor of the valley is inclined down toward the north until it inches up again toward the Tehachapis. Several exfoliated granite buttes—with names such as Fairmont, Little, Saddleback, Piute, and Lovejoy—dot the valley. Their widely scattered positions constitute infrequent relief on the horizon before the mountains arise. To the west, a loose constellation of buttes marks the boundary of the Antelope Valley near the Los Angeles-San Bernardino County line. As high desert, the Antelope Valley experiences a much different climate than the nearby coastal plains. Separated by mountains from the moderating effects of marine air, the Antelope Valley has a more “continental” climate.

Interaction with GuestsThe thermostat is smart-programmed to maximum comfort for most people while preserving energy. During heating seasons, target temperature is always in the 60s - bedrooms (if doors/windows kept closed) usually in the upper 60s while open space in mid 60s. It's generally higher in the evenings and mornings and a little bit lower during sleep and daytime. We have provided layered comforters and extra blankets. Space heaters may be available upon request - normally discouraged because they pose a serious fire danger or danger to small children if not used properly or not turned off while not in use. Feel free to message or send a request to book if you have any questions. I will usually respond instantly or within an hour to last minutes requests. Let me know what time you arrive so that I can pre-heat the house for you. You may easily self check in. My husband and I are quite sociable and having guests are our new hobby. We don't have pets nor kids. I enjoy having guests at my home and will take care of you. Treat my home as if it is your home. Grumpy people, people with negative attitudes, whiners are not welcomed in my house! Please bring a smile, a giggle, and an open heart instead. In order to keep costs low and in general for all Airbnbs, the cleaning fee is a one time cleaning before you check in. If you'd like additional maid service during your stay like the hotels, you can request for extra and I will check with my house keeper if she will be available. Highly suggest a one time extra $40 cleaning for stays of 7 days or more (I can schedule her to come in during your stay to clean at a mutually agreed time) She will be able to make beds, clean, take out trash, show you the washing machine etc. The NeighborhoodVery close to Tehachapi Mountain Park with endless hiking trails, Brite lake fishing, 4 miles to downtown, 2 miles to Old town. Tehachapi is like a breath of fresh air. Our higher elevation and mountain locale epitomizes outdoor living at its best. People here, whether resident or visitor relish their time spent outside enjoying the scenic beauty and all the recreational opportunities, extreme sports and wildlife the area has to offer. But Tehachapi’s unique environment also means it’s located outside the mainstream and conventions of suburbia. It’s original. More unconventional attitude attracts people with fresh ideas and energy that manifest themselves in the arts, culture, traditions, technology and commercial innovations, and strong community spirit. We have clean air, four seasons, alternative energy, outdoor adventure, great agritourism… all because of our higher elevation.
