My light-filled, open loft is set on four levels with a lovely patio garden allowing for a great deal of privacy and freedom. I collect art and photography and have furnished my home with a mixture of contemporary, mid-century modern and one of a kind pieces from around the world. Open, airy and light, I enjoy sharing my home with guests.
You'll find a beautiful succulent patio garden on the ground level which features super comfy low-to-the-ground seating. It's a perfect spot to enjoy your morning coffee or grab a book from the bookcase, and expand your horizons.
The kitchen, dining area, sitting area and a full bath occupy the next level. Kitchen includes All-Clad cookware, Global knives, a blender for those morning smoothies, gas range, microwave and dishwasher. I enjoy baking, and while I can't make any promises, you might find a batch of homemade chocolate chip cookies or brownies in the kitchen at some point during your stay.
The third floor lends itself to yoga much of the time, so feel free to pull out a yoga mat and enjoy a good stretch or for those of you inclined to use a physio ball or a foam roller, both are available.
You'll have complete use of my home including the kitchen, washer/dryer, beautiful succulent patio garden and secured parking. Wi-Fi and wireless printer/scanner are also available for your use. No TV but loads of art and photography books!
I'm a well-traveled, cultured art dealer and am passionate about yoga, meditation, the ocean, food, wine, music, laughter and living a full life. I've lived in many parts of the US, including Boston and New York, as well as traveled extensively in Europe, Indonesia and Morocco, but I'm a Southern Californian at heart. My lovable feline roommate, Ruby Rose, spends much of her time roaming freely in her Venice neighborhood, though she's likely to spend a moment sizing you up shortly after your arrival. We're happy to welcome you to our home and to share what we know and love about Venice and the beauty of Southern California living. Guest AccessPrivate ensuite bath and balcony, washer/dryer, wi-fi, wireless printer/scanner, secured gated parking, kitchen, living area, succulent patio garden, essentially you'll have access to the the entire home.
PLEASE NOTE: Smoking is strictly prohibited including outside on the balcony and in the patio garden. Interaction with GuestsI enjoy sharing my home and everything that I appreciate about this eclectic, edgy, urban community by the ocean, but you will have as much privacy as you desire. The NeighborhoodFor those less familiar with Venice, it is one of the trendiest areas of LA, a vibrant and sought after edgy neighborhood, especially on the weekends. You'll experience the urban edge of this creative community while being just three blocks from the Pacific Ocean. If you're looking to stay beachside in Venice, Marina del Rey and Santa Monica, the list of what is readily accessible is endless, and you can enjoy it by doing the unthinkable in LA - never stepping foot into a car!
Centrally located to Rose Avenue and world-renowned Abbot Kinney Blvd. (recently named the coolest block in America by GQ), you'll be a short walk from many of LA's most unique stores and some of its most talked about restaurants including Gjelina, The Tasting Kitchen, Venice Beach Wines, Cerveteca, Via Veneto, Ado, Barnyard, Superba, Cafe Gratitude, Axe and Salt Air, to name a few.
Get your morning coffee at Groundwork, GTA, Menotti's or Intelligentsia.
Rent bikes and ride the Venice Boardwalk to the Santa Monica Pier or the 3rd street Promenade. Or if you're up for a longer ride, 'The Strand' offers a gorgeous 40 mile round trip coastal bike path from Will Rogers State Beach to the Redondo Beach Pier. And there's always yoga at YogaWorks or Exhale.
If music is on your agenda, you'll find it at Harvell's, Hal's, WitZend and summer concerts on the Pier. Enjoy sunset at the rooftop bars at Hotel Shangri-La or Hotel Erwin.
Need groceries? Jump on the bike and take a short ride up the street to Whole Foods or shop the infamous Santa Monica Farmers' Markets.
Getting AroundAs mentioned, if you are planning to stay beachside in the Venice, Marina del Rey, Santa Monica areas, you will be fine without a car. Should you wish to take public transport, there are buses that run from Venice to many parts of the LA area. Contrary to what you might hear about LA, you can catch a bus to the Expo line in Culver City and take the Metro to downtown LA. And of course, if you prefer to brave the LA traffic in a car, there is secured gated parking on the premises. Other Things to NoteA hair dryer, ironing board and iron, full length mirror, complimentary toiletries, beach chairs, ice chest and guide books are available during your stay. Cleaning service every Friday.
