However, if we are gone we still do rent out our room and in this case will be available via phone, email, or text. If we are gone for a weekend our dog will also not be at our house. Very modern with new bed, fresh linens, private bathroom, and full access to living room, kitchen, library, and outdoor spaces. Amenities... · Full house (library, living room, kitchen, patio and yard) except my personal room and bathroom. · Dogs allowed! Should include in your reservation – no surprise pets please. · Wireless Internet (and extra USB ports/chargers) · Mini-fridge in your room - probably stocked with a few local beers and non-alcoholic drinks:-) · Morning coffee and tea - if it is already made, help yourself. My schedule is different day to day - some days I'm out of the house 7 am to 10 pm and others I work from home most of the day. I'll lean towards being a friendly hostess who respects your privacy and schedule. The NeighborhoodMany things to love about this neighborhood, but the people and sense of community is at the top of the list. I live on a quiet street with lots of cyclists, people walking their dogs, and families with strollers passing by and saying hello. Also great access to the cycling and running paths along the Poudre river. Getting AroundWalkable - CSU and Old Town Bike-able - most of the local attractions (aka breweries and stadium) Drive-able - Mountains, Boulder, Denver Other Things to NoteThe BIG one...I have a GIANT dog. She is the most lovable, friendly, well-behaved, and popular (IMO) pup in all the land. You'll leave wanting to take her with you (but please don't). Just be warned... - I've given up on mopping up the water drops within 8 feet of her water bowl bc she'll drip water there again in 15 minutes - As soon as you put on dark clothes, she'll insist on leaning against you.

The SpaceThe creative space consists of a loft bed, kitchenette, bathroom and a working space, the building also serves as an art studio. I also teach, so just let me know if you are interested in a lesson for guests. The space is private, with a separate entrance from the main house. A fouton couch downstairs and a queen bed in the loft make up the sleeping accommodations . The bathroom and kitchen are new additions as of this last spring. WiFi access is free, and bikes are available upon request. I work for a few art galleries around the area and I stay pretty up to date on cultural events - I would love to share music, art and event performance suggestions for your visit, just ask :) Fort Collins is a bike friendly town, and from the studio, you are really pretty close to everything! The foothills, and downtown are 5-15 mins away (depending on where you are planning to go) and it is only a mile or so west of CSU campus. 1 block from a bus stop and 2 blocks from a grocery store. There are bars and restaurants all along Elizabeth, as well. Fort Collins is a fun town with microbreweries, restaurants and outdoor activities. I spent several years on CSU campus for my graduate work, and I love being active in the community so if you need any information on the school or have any questions about the area, I'd love to be of assistance! Guest AccessGuests will have access to hot tub and washer/dryer in addition to everything in the private studio space (kitchen: sink/fridge/stovetop, and bathroom: shower/ toilet/ sink). Interaction with GuestsI love meeting new people and sharing what I know of the area, if I am in town . Please let me know if I can be of help in any way possible. But don't worry, if you just want to get away for a few days, the experience can be as private as you prefer. The NeighborhoodCampus West area is central to the university and old town, a mix of college students and permanent residents, depending on the time of year. It is pretty quiet, but you can see some barbecues and get togethers in the neighborhood during the school year, (or a bronco's winning season). Getting AroundWe are a block from the city bus stop, there are bike lanes and sidewalks everywhere, and I may have a spare bike if you need one... (the city also has an excellent bike library..yes you can check out your own bike!) Other Things to NoteI will leave a key on the desk for you to lock the space, (it isn't really a 'lock your door' neigborhood, but it's your preference) just make sure you return it before you check out.

The SpaceOur family is fortunate to have two international students (one Korean, and one Malaysian) living with us-they are rarely here, with work and class schedules, and occupy the bottom floor of our four-floor home. They use the same entrance, and have their own bathroom, and only occasionally use the kitchen, so the top three levels (approx. 2300 sq. feet) of the house are yours. The bedrooms (carpeted) and bathrooms (tiled), as well as laundry, are on the top floor, the kitchen, dining room, and one living room on the main floor, and the second living room with fireplace on the floor below the main. Bose speakers are hung on the main floor ceiling, with outdoor speakers on the back porch. There is a jack we will show you to plug your iPod/smartphone into. In the dining room, there is a table for six, and in the kitchen, there is an island with bar stools and a taller bistro table that folds out, with room for six as well. Feel free to use the kegerator if you like beer on tap, or the refrigerator to store food/drinks. Guest AccessYou will be provided with a set of keys to the house by means of a lockbox on the front door. We provide high speed wireless internet, as well as local TV on a 32" LCD. There is also a DVD player and a Roku box with Netflix, and games and puzzles for the kids. We leave detailed instructions and maps/activity magazines for getting around town and for finding household items. The NeighborhoodWe are located in a west-side neighborhood with many young families, elderly, young adults-in other words, a healthy mix. There are a few rentals sprinkled in to mostly owner occupied residences. Crime in Fort Collins (population 150K), and in our area is very low. Getting AroundOne of the largest city parks is a 3 block walk away. The largest (and funnest) kid park is less than one mile away by car, and/or can be accessed by the Spring Creek Trail. CSU is 2.5 miles away, and can be biked to in 15 minutes, or driven to in 7-10 minutes. Safeway Grocery is 7-8 blocks to the west, with King Soopers a further mile away. Other Things to NoteWe keep Italian honeybees (most docile of honeybees) in the backyard. They are active in the summer, but kept on the back fence line, behind shrubs and out of the way of walking traffic. In winter, they typically only emerge on 50 degree plus days. Bee stings are rare, with wild yellowjackets, sweatbees, and wasps/hornets being much bigger a threat.

The SpaceThe room is located at the front of the house, providing easy access to come and go. There is WiFi available in the room. Two windows provide fresh air and natural light. The bed is a twin bed with a standard length mattress. Bedding includes sheets, a down comforter, pillows, and extra blankets upon request. I provide all linens needed, such as sheets, pillows and cases, towels. I do not provide toiletries such as shampoo, soap, or toothpaste. There is a hanging rack in the room for clothes, as well as a wardrobe cabinet. A comfy chair with ottoman, table, lamp, and clock provide a nice area to relax and read in the room. Guest AccessGuest will have access to a shared bathroom, the kitchen with fridge, utensils, microwave and stove. Guests may come and go through the front door, and will be provided a key. Please realize that this is my home and that you are renting a bedroom, not the entire home. If you have questions, please ask! Interaction with GuestsI live at the house and am in and out of the house throughout the day, so can interact as much as the guest would like. The room is a a strictly private space. This is my home, and the space you are renting is a bedroom within my home. Please understand that we are not roommates, so if you're looking for a place to sit on the couch all day and night watching tv, this is not the right location for you. The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood in Old Town Fort Collins, a 10 minute walk to the restaurants and shops in Old Town and 20 minute walk to Colorado State University. A few blocks north is Lee Martinez park with paved trails, tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball, etc. as well as access to the Poudre River. Getting AroundYou can check out a bike from the bike library in Old Town for free with a reservation! Reservations at the bike library should be made a couple days in advance of your arrival. There are bus stops along Laporte Avenue, just south of my home. Green Ride Airport shuttles run from the Denver Airport to Fort Collins, offering door-to-door delivery. It is also possible to take the public bus system from Denver to Fort Collins, check this link to see the routes available: (URL HIDDEN) . Other Things to NoteI have a young dog, who is very friendly. Please do not contact me the day of for a same day reservation, I most likely can not accommodate you on that short notice. I prefer guests that have plans to get out to see the area - if you are looking for a place to sit on the couch and watch tv for your stay, this is not a good location for you! Thanks!

The SpaceA bright space with high ceilings and lots of light. This isn't your typical basement apartment. Beautifully updated kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a wine fridge and nice china. Nice master bedroom with new bedding and a queen sized bed. The second bedroom has a twin size day bed that pulls out to allow for two twin sized mattresses side-by-side. Guest AccessGuests have access to two guest bikes to ride downtown (under a mile away) or around campus (just down the block). Internet is included, as is off-street parking and outdoor space. Interaction with GuestsWe've tried to anticipate questions our guests may have regarding intricacies of the rental and Fort Collins amenities, and included this in an informational packet in the apartment. In addition to this, we are friendly and available to answer questions or make suggestions about the area. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is an ideal location. It is perfect for CSU parents, as well as Fort Collins visitors who are looking to explore downtown and the surrounding areas. The neighborhood is diverse with retired folks, young families and college students. We want our guests to feel at home in the space. Old Town Fort Collins is an amazing place to visit, and we hope you enjoy your time here as much as we do. Getting AroundGuests have access to two guest bikes to ride into downtown (under a mile away) or around campus (just down the block). The new MAX bus is 6 blocks away and there are city buses that run all over town. Downtown is a short walk or bike ride. Other Things to NoteWe are a family who has put a lot of time, attention and resources toward our 1928 house. We designed and renovated the basement apartment knowing we were going to live in it and did just that for two years until our family grew, and we moved upstairs. We take a lot of pride in our entire house and hope our guests see, enjoy and respect this during their stay. Note that the bones of our house are old, so there is some creaking from the main level floors that can be heard in the basement apartment. Though it is well-insulated between the two levels, some noises in a house this age are inevitable. We hope guests will see this as part of the character and charm of staying in a beautiful Old Town home.

The SpaceI have a beautiful home and I know you'll feel very comfortable here! The space I have to offer is the lower level of a tri-level (but with above-ground windows), which adds a little extra privacy between your room and the bathroom. Guest AccessRoom, bathroom, laundry facilities (please, not between 9pm and 7am), kitchen, kitchen amenities, back deck. Interaction with GuestsI don't feel the need to interact with you more than you would like. If you need anything, feel free to ask, and I always welcome pleasant conversation, but otherwise, we can let each other have our own space and privacy. The NeighborhoodI live in a quiet neighborhood on a cul-de-sac, with kind neighbors. You'll be able to hear the train whistle from my house, and it does sometimes occur at night, but it usually doesn't wake me up, and I'm a pretty light sleeper. The SpaceWhat is the space like? Historic home built by the Bell Family in 1880 on the western end of the Old Town district of Fort Collins. The house was built in the style of a western Denver Cottage by the Bell family when they first settled in the area and is one of only a handful of the original houses left on the block. The house is full of an eclectic mix of antiques and garage sale finds. Wooden floors are original to the house so plenty of comfy slippers available for guests while outside shoes stay at the door! What should you expect? The house was built in 1880 and has creaky wooden floors throughout. As with many old houses, it is an ongoing project that requires loads of love and attention and at 136, this old gal sometimes shows her age! The kitchen is well equipped for your use and I stock many teas from all over the world. The house has a front and back porch perfect for sipping coffee during the summer months and the backyard has a wonderful garden provides herbs and vegetables. Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, sit on the front porch and watch the old town trolley rumble by! During the summer fans and open windows provide a welcome breeze; winter storm windows keep out the cold drafts The Furry Valet Service. We have a very special valet service at the house who will greet you and make you feel at home (and very welcome). While they are not allowed in your room, they will solicit attention and are very much part of the household. Conservation ethics: the house is equipped with energy saving Smart nest thermostat and tankless hot water heaters. All food waste is composed in the backyard and the City of Fort Collins has a very robust recycling program (bins by back door on porch). Where is the University? Colorado State University is located one kilometer (half mile more or less) from the house. It is a pleasant 15 -20 minute walk to the main campus through quiet and safe residential neighborhoods. Bikes and locks are available for guests to borrow to ride to campus as well. Fort Collins is one of the most bike friendly cities in the US and it is certainly easier to get around by bike than to find parking downtown! Parking is available in front of the house and public parking is available on the campus (and is pretty reasonable). There are bike lanes throughout Fort Collins and most of the local conference centers and the Lincoln Center for Performing are within bike able distance from the Old Town area (and again often easier to walk or bike than to try to find parking!). How to get there? From the Denver Airport Port, Fort Collins is about one hour and twenty minutes drive from the main terminal to the front door (Fort Collins is about 70 miles from the airport). The area is well served by both Super Shuttle and the Green Ride (a local company). For short term visitors, a car is really not needed if you like to walk and explore town! Bikes, helmets and locks are available to borrow and Fort Collins is regularly voted as a most bike able city! The MAX bus stops at Mountain ave and goes south past Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Sierra trading post and loads of restaurants. Guest AccessThe house has electronic locks so guests have easy access and can come and go at any time. Check in is quite flexible depending only on if there is a previous guest in the room the night before Your room: The guest room is off the kitchen and has its own private bathroom and clawfoot tub (with shower head). There is also a walk-in shower available for guests down the hall (shared space) for those who prefer. The guest bed is a full sized brass bed that belonged to my grandmother with a comforter to snuggle in for winter nights and a nice Pendleton blanket for extra comfort if needed. There is a door directly to the bathroom so the space is private but it is close to the kitchen with creaky wooden floors! The old clawfoot tub is also nice for occasional bubble baths after a day of skiing or biking (bubble bath provided!). The guest room has a coffee and tea bar with an Nexpresso machine and milk frothier in cabinet. Coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and teas provided. Milk is in the main kitchen and there is a market very close for those who may prefer other additives to their morning coffee. There is a washer and dryer in the basement as needed (although please be energy conscious and run these only with a full load). There are plenty of racks for drying clothing as well that save energy! Interaction with GuestsThe house is cozy and the living space and kitchen are shared so its fun to meet and greet as folks get ready for the day! During the summer, doors are open and gardening is in full swing. Kitchen is available for your use and please do tidy up after yourself and put used dishes into the dishwasher! The NeighborhoodWhat is the neighborhood like? The house is situated in the Old Town district of Fort Collins on Mountain Ave. The area is residential but there is a small neighborhood market close by that has a good selection of items and a Wednesday farm stand filled with locally grown goodies during the summer and fall. City Park is a big central park in Fort Collins and is less than five minutes from the house and has a weekly food truck gathering that is fun! The park features a pool in the summer months, a large lake that is home to several White pelicans and good running trails. Old town shopping district: The historic downtown area is a comfortable walking distance (15 to 20 minute leisurely stroll) through safe residential areas with many old historic buildings. The Old Town district has a variety of retail, restaurants and coffee shops (see guidebook for some recommendations). There is a big farmers market downtown every Saturday near the municipal buildings--moves inside in the winter. I recommend walking or biking to old town as parking can be difficult during the busy evening dining hours. Breweries: The house is about a 15 minute bike ride to New Belgium, Odells, Fort Collins Brewery and Petroius Creek breweries. By car--each is less than seven minutes and all have good parking. Odells and New Belgium are also on the bike trail which makes for a nice afternoon excursion. Colorado State University: The university is about a 20 minute walk or a fast drive. Biking is the best option for campus (there are some old bikes available for guests). Another option is the MAX bus which runs from downtown to campus (so doesn't really save that much walking time). Rocky Mountain National Park is accessible by two different routes--Poudre Canyon is 15 minutes away north of Fort Collins or Big Thompson canyon is 45 minutes via Estes Park. Wonderful day hikes in Poudre Canyon can be reached in 15 minutes! Getting AroundIs there transportation? By car: From Denver international airport Fort Collins is about 70 miles north. Take the toll road (E470) as it is the shortest route. All rental cars have toll transponders and it is worth it as there is no traffic on the tollway. By shuttle van: Super Shuttle and The GreenRide run shuttles from Denver Airport to the house. Both companies have booths at Denver airport to make reservations. cost is about $45 each way. In and around Fort Collins: the house is located in the historic Old Town section of Fort Collins complete with an old town trolley rumbling down the street during the summer months. The main public bus stop is on LaPorte Ave about two blocks away. The new Maxibus system is about a ten minute walk away so you could walk to Maxibus and take it all the way to Whole Foods, Sierra Trading post, Trader Joes, Core Power Yoga and REI! There are plenty of bike lanes and the public library even has a bike share program. I have some older bikes that guests are more than welcome to use along with helmets and bike locks. Zip cars are now available on campus but I haven't found them yet (I think they are by the student center). Uber just started in the area but I imagine an Uber ride from the airport would be rather pricy. Mostly I walk to downtown visit the local breweries (including some new cider breweries!) or enjoy happy hour outside. There are some new restaurants in Fort Collins including The Kitchen from Boulder which is an amazing restaurant that is a non-profit giving its proceeds to building gardens in the local schools. Jax Seafood has the best happy hour and even an all day happy hour on Mondays! The Social is a new "Speakeasy" place that has fun drinks and a 1920's theme. If you are into beer, Odells, Fort Collins Brewery and New Belgium are all within biking distance. Other Things to NoteTwo young dogs and a cat are on the premises. While my pets are not allowed in the guest room, guests are welcome to bring friendly animals although the cat is a bit of a bully and likes to chase small dogs. The yard is pretty secure for most dogs to play in; however small dogs may find a place to wiggle out.

The SpaceThe house is single story with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large country style kitchen, and an open living room. There is a hall bathroom which is shared between the guest room and our roommate Eric. The guest room (your room) is across the hall from the bathroom and has a comfy queen bed and pillows, a table for setting items on, and room in the closet to hang clothing. It comfortably fits two people. If you have more people we have a blow-up air mattress, but this would need to be negotiated ahead of time. There's no tv in the house but we do have wireless internet that you can use to stream shows and movies if you like. There is also a RedBox in the grocery store just down the road from our house. We do have a medium sized dog (named Sulley) who is very friendly but tends to bark when people come to the door or walk past the house outside (he makes an excellent doorbell/ guard dog in our opinion). He spends most of the day outside when the weather is nice, so you shouldn't have much contact with him when we aren't home. We currently have a roommate named Eric who is a high school business teacher in Loveland. He is very quiet, nice, easy going, and has lots of interesting stories about living in Korea. We are pretty simple people, one of us is a wild-land firefighter and the other one is an herbalist and a nutritionist with a private practice and store in town. We enjoy cooking food at home most evenings, riding our bikes with our friends, and spending time outdoors. During the summer Kael (the firefighter) is away for work so you won't see him at all. I (Sarah) spend most of the day working at my store, so you'll see me in the mornings and evenings, but mostly I'm at home for cooking/eating food and relaxing. Guest AccessGuest bedroom, Bathroom, Kitchen, Living Room, Wireless internet, fenced backyard, bicycles (for extra). Interaction with GuestsSarah works at her store in town during the day and is typically home only in the mornings and evenings during the week. She doesn't mind small talk in the mornings but is more likely to have time to chat in the evenings. Kael is only home for the winter months, so you may not ever see him. We are home most evenings during the week so it's likely we will be available for guest interaction depending on what we have going on. We typically go to bed around 10 or 11pm and often don't come home late on the weekends, and if we do stay out late it's a rare occasion. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is a mix of young families, a few college rentals, and the occasional retired couple; it's on the west side of town closer to the foothills. Downtown is an easy 20 minute bike ride away (or 10min in a car) The best part about our neighborhood is the organic CSA farm just down the street; which, during the right season, you can spend part of a day volunteering at in exchange for some fresh vegetables. Getting AroundWe often bike to town, so if you have a bike to bring feel free! You can keep it in our fenced backyard. There is also a bus route that goes downtown that picks up down the street from the house as well if you do not have a car or a bike.

The SpaceThis one of a kind historical home was built in 1940 of solid concrete and brick with a modern Art Deco style. The newly remodeled lower level basement is a mother-in-law suite that has a private bedroom with a queen size bed, full kitchen, a quiet sitting area perfect for reading and a bathroom with tub and shower. In addition, the space has a small home yoga studio for you to use as a personal practice area. There is a beautiful private backyard with a brick fence and wrought iron gate with a separate entrance to your reserved space. The space is limited to two people, although negotiable (please write and we can discuss options and rate changes). We do LOVE pets but they are not permitted because we already have a dog that is sweet and friendly. Guest AccessYour time spent here is mostly private with your own separate entrance, however the patio is shared space as well as the yoga studio. **CURRENTLY THERE ARE NO PUBLIC CLASSES ~ the yoga studio is for your own personal practice. Interaction with GuestsMinimal, we are here when needed. The NeighborhoodSome of our favorite places we ride our bikes to include Equinox Brewing with free live music on Friday and Saturday nights. Also, New Belgium and Odell Brewing Companies are a short distance away. Margaritas and great Mexican food are located at The Rio (love the patio!). Cafe Vino, a hot spot for drinks and dinner. We enjoy Fish and Jax for seafood. Happy Hour at Enzios, Luciles for breakfast (awesome New Orleans style), Rainbow Cafe (breakfast and lunch with great patio dining), Pickle Barrel Cafe, Tasty Harmony is amazing for raw foods, Little Bird Bakery, The Bean Cycle Coffee House, Food Co-op, Bizarre Bazaar Bookstore, Saturday morning farmers market, live music in Old Town Square on Thursday evenings (in the summer).... Getting AroundBikes are available during your stay that will allow you to explore this gorgeous area at your convenience with access to bike trails along the Poudre River and the downtown area. This includes restaurants, breweries, art galleries, live music, farmers markets, festivals, CSU activities and so much more! It is a 15 minute walk or a short bike ride to the heart of downtown or 4 short blocks to CSU's Campus. Other Things to NoteThe kitchen is fully equipped for "light," basic cooking. Strong odors, smoke, and fumes linger as there is no stove fan or external ventilation nor is there a garbage disposal. Longer stays with serious "dining in" should reconsider staying here due to these circumstances.

The SpaceThe "Owens Oasis" is a wonderful combination of new structure with warm mountain decor and antique accents. The home is toxin-free, including "green" cleaning products by Melaleuca and filtered air. The covered patio is a quiet welcoming place to take in some wonderful Rocky Mountain air and coffee in the AM or wine & cheese in the PM. Who knows? You may even see a hot-air balloon making its way across the sky! I must say: I discovered this Independence Day (7/4/2015), that the condo is not necessarily quiet on that evening! Some of my new neighbors like to celebrate with individual fireworks. But otherwise, this is a very quiet neighborhood - I think you'll love it! Guest AccessIn general, make yourself at home. We'll have some treats for your arrival, and can also make a little space in the fridge if you need it. When weather permits, the patio is a wonderful place to unwind. Guests also are free to enjoy the back patio and garden in warm weather. The house has WiFi and there is a printer available for guests' convenience if needed. Interaction with GuestsThe owner (Lisa K.) lives in the house and will be here to greet you when you arrive. I will be happy to advise you about restaurants, shopping, bicycle rentals, hiking trails, etc. I really enjoy having guests in my home. My primary goal is to provide my guests with clean, comfortable rooms and to be friendly and helpful but not intrusive, preserving your privacy as well as mine. Guest area is the sitting room and bedroom, with access to the kitchen and bathroom, of course. My private areas are the dining room, living room, front bedroom and front porch. However, this doesn't mean that we can't enjoy a glass of wine or morning cup of coffee together if the occasion arises.:) The NeighborhoodI have lived in this house for 20 years. I love the neighborhood because it is perfectly situated in Old Town- just a short walk from CSU, the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, the Old Town shopping and dining district and City Park. There is a little mom and pop grocery 3 blocks away. The center of Old Town, which is just a 15 minute walk away along pleasant tree-lined residential streets, is full of charming shops and restaurants to suit every taste and pocketbook. Ft. Collins has also become famous in the past few years for its wealth of brewpubs. Fortunately we are also famous for our thriving bike culture which supports miles of trails for working off the calories:) Getting AroundCity buses run just two two blocks away on LaPorte Avenue. The new Max transit system buses, which run from Old Town south to Harmony Road, are 7 blocks away on Mason Street. The Fort Collins system of bike trails is easily accessed from the house. Bike rentals are available from Fort Collins Bike Share, which has several stations around Old Town where you can pick up a bike by using the Zagster app for iPhones. Their website, which could be a LOT better, is (URL HIDDEN) If you rent for a day (24 hours) the cost is $25. If you rent for a week it works out to $20/day. There also are numerous bike shops in town where you can rent. Other Things to NotePlease note that, since Airbnb does not provide this service, I will collect required city taxes from guests upon their arrival. Taxes are based on my net, which is $65 per night. The tax is 6.85%. For example, tax for one weekday night would be $4.50. Payment may be made by check or cash.
