The SpaceWe're back! Took a break for awhile to try and address some things, the sauna has a new bigger stove for example. Wonderful as it is this place is still "rustic" so "manage your expectations." This is not a hotel but it does have some spa like qualities! Please note, you WILL NEED A 4x4 IN THE WINTER. This 3/4 dome is a rustic retreat in the woods overlooking 40,000 acres of the Mount Evans wilderness. It is equipped with electricity, a lovely bathroom with large tub and shower and a full kitchen with all the necessary pots and pans to make an enjoyable meal. There are two beds with sheets in one common loft bedroom and two other futon type things which will not have sheets on them. For the winter months, heating options include propane and a wood-burning fireplace...providing a very cozy atmosphere. It is clean and well apportioned to make you comfortable. The road leading here is plowed and maintained right up to the driveway in winter and the road is really pretty safe. Nevertheless 4wd is required in the winter. While it does snow up here frequently , it rarely snows enough to ski on :( but this makes it very livable in the winter:) Also being south facing , the snow usually doesn't stay around for very long. The dome is conveniently located near a variety of attractions for all seasons. 15 minutes to Idaho Springs, 35 minutes to Red Rocks, 45 min to Denver, and 45 minutes to ski resorts. Cell phones have good reception. During your visit you will have the dome to yourself. We live nearby so are close enough to accommodate any of your needs that may arise. Musicians, artists , writers...the dome is a great place to write, record and paint! Mountain bikers and hikers ...great trails abound right out the door! Snow enthusiasts...Loveland Ski Area, Summit County and Winter Park are close and the dome is a great place to be able to stop to avoid Denver bound traffic. Plan around heavy traffic on Saturday mornings and Sunday evenings! The dome has a basement "green house" which serves as a secondary living space with , stereo equipment, an exercise machine and a wood fired sauna. This area tends to be quite chili in the winter as it is unfinished and not quite buttoned up. Its a good place for late night shenanigans and artistic endeavors. It can be warmed up with some effort. Idaho Springs is a darling mountain town with cafes and restaurants. Idaho Springs is home to Tommyknocker Brewery with excellent Colorado craft brews and food. World class hiking and exploring in the Mount Evans wilderness is next door. The dome is a unique place to relax and unwind as well as experience the outdoors without actually roughing it. There are games and toys provided for dome entertainment, a weight machine for muscle building and a couch for muscle resting! The road leading to the Dome is a maintained (plowed) dirt road that does not require a 4WD or high clearance vehicle during the warm months but is considered required equipment from November to April. Rides can be arranged if you do not have 4WD ( neighbors) for a small fee but this would take some planning. There are frequently deer and elk in the neighborhood as well as foxes, lions, tigers, bears and even moose...for this reason, dogs and trash must be managed carefully. The house and the adjacent wilderness is your playground. A Waiver of Liability must be signed before staying. Not recommeded for small children unless you are super diligent! The SpaceWe are located on 6 acres 15 minutes from I-70, 45 minutes from the heart of Denver, 16 miles from the road to Mt Evans (one of Colorado's 14ers) and 1+ hour from ski areas. There is plenty of open space and hiking close by. Our home is at 8,400' altitude. We have one bedroom (queen mattress) with a private bathroom for rent on the 2nd floor of our mountain home. During your stay, you are welcome to use our family room, kitchen, sunroom, decks & grill. A Continental breakfast (cereal, juice, fruit, coffee, tea) will be provided each morning. In other words, please relax and enjoy our home! Our home is drug free and smoke free. We are in a quiet rural mountain community. There are grocery stores and restaurants about 10 minutes from our house. A car is necessary to reach our house, but there is a RTD bus stop in Bergan Park (about 10 minutes from us), and a light rail station near Golden, CO (about 30 minutes from us) which will take you around the Denver area. We ask that you check in before 9PM and check out by 11AM unless other arrangements are made.

The SpaceWelcome to the Mount Evans Basecamp – a large stunning solar house in the center of everything! This beautiful modern home is situated on the top of a mountainside with views of the Continental Divide and the surrounding Rocky Mountains. Enjoy a wrap-around deck with breathtaking panoramic views outside and three large bedrooms with an open floor plan inside. The first floor features a modern kitchen and an open dinning room and living room area with a wood-burning stove. There’s more than enough seating in this space for you and your guests to enjoy the views from the wall of large south and westward facing windows. There is a large storage closet for outdoor gear, ski equipment and coats. The master suite is located on this floor, as well as a half bathroom with a washer/dryer unit. The second floor features two large, tastefully decorated bedrooms. Between the two rooms, you’ll find a comfortable pullout couch and a television with a DVD and Xbox player. There’s a full bathroom located on this level, as well. Bedroom Breakdown: The master suite is located on the first floor. It features a large bathroom with a two person tiled shower, two large windows facing south and east and a king sized bed and a large dresser for clothing storage. There’s also a flat screen television with a built in DVD player. Please note, the closet is locked in this bedroom, but there is plenty of room for clothing storage in the large dresser. The second bedroom features a plush double bed, a large east-facing window with woodland and mountain views, a table for writing, a privacy screen for luggage and hanged clothing and a built in dresser for clothing storage. Please note, the closet is locked in this bedroom, but there is plenty of space for clothing storage within the room. This bedroom has a large vaulted ceiling. The third bedroom features a comfortable queen sized bed with plush bedding, a large closet for clothing storage, a large west-facing window with mountain views is featured here, as well. Enjoy a large selection of novels and books about world travel collected by the owners. This bedroom has a large vaulted ceiling. The loft space between the two bedrooms features a double sized pullout couch. Linens are in closet of the third bedroom. Bathrooms: 1 half bathroom on the first floor 1 full bathroom with large granite tile shower in the master suite, 1 full bathroom with shower/tub on the second floor. Bathrooms are equipped with towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toilet paper, and facial tissue. About solar living: We rely on the energy of the sun to heat and power the home. While it’s different than on-the-grid living, it’s surprisingly simple to maintain and enjoy. There are a few things to be aware of, but it won’t greatly impact your stay. In the winter months, guests may want to light a fire in the wood stove at night, but during the day you’ll stay toasty warm thanks to great insulation and radiant floor heating. The dishwasher and washer/dryer should only run during daylight hours in order to maximize energy. Please note that the use of hairdryers, space heaters, microwaves, toaster and high wattage appliances cannot be used. Laptop computers and the like, are a-okay, but you won’t want to use these once you see this view. That's about it. If the house does not have enough solar power, a back-up generator will automatically turn on to help power the home. Pretty easy! The water, stove and radiant floor heating runs on propane. You will have more than enough hot water for showers each day thanks to the tankless system. Everything is within reach here at the Basecamp. That's why we call it the Mount Evans Basecamp, after all. Here are a few ideas of what to do while you're here. You'll find a guest book with more options upon your arrival. •Denver is a beautiful 40 minutes drive down I-70. •Skiing and snow adventuring: Vail Resort is one hour ten minutes away, Breckenridge is one hour away, Loveland (Fantastic and affordable! Where the locals ski) is a short 25-30 minute drive, and Winter Park is just 30 minutes away. •Echo Lake on Mount Evans is a beautiful 25 minute drive where you and your group can hike and take-in the beautiful mountain setting in the summer or ice skate and sled in the winter. •Take a river or lake fishing trip just a few minutes from the house. •Enjoy mountain bike trail riding or running from your front door. •Try-out a white water rafting trip down clear creek in the town of Idaho Springs – a quick ten minute drive from the home or a 20 minute mountain bike ride from the house. •The home is located between Idaho Springs and Georgetown - two interesting towns with roots in the mining industry with many attractions and things to explore. •Need a rest from all of that adventuring? Spend a day at Indian Hot Springs or one of the many hot springs nearby. •Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is 30 minutes away. Ski and outdoor adventuring gear can be rented in the town of Idaho Falls - just a short 10 minute drive away. Cheap lift tickets are also available. Last but not least, we highly recommend renting an all-wheel drive or four wheel drive vehicle. It's part of mountain living. The road leading to the home is unpaved and up a bit of a grade. The final ascent to the house is also a bit steep - even in the summer months, so please consider this when planning your trip. SKIERS - If you're bringing your own skis make sure your rental vehicle has a luggage rack. We can arrange to let you borrow our ski rack if we have some advance notice. Our rack will hold up to 3 pairs of skis. We also have ratchet straps if you'd like to strapping your ski bag to the top of your rental vehicle. We're a big fan of skiing and want to make sure to help you out with this endeavor. :) Please feel free to contact us regarding any other questions. The SpaceMT EVANS CABIN IN HISTORIC IDAHO SPRINGS 2BD/1BA is located in historic landmark area of Idaho Springs where Colorado Gold Rush began over 150 years ago. The SpaceCompared to all the homes I've ever visited, this one stands head and shoulders above them all being private and peaceful. For you it might be luxury, for others, you might think of it as a cabin. We love the home and enjoy offering it to you. Guest AccessWhole home access except my rates are based on double occupancy so 1 or 2 folks will have access to the master bedroom, 3 or 4 folks will have access to 2 bedrooms and 5 or 6 folks more folks will have access to all 3 bedrooms. If you are 3 guys who want 3 bedrooms, book it as 5 people. Interaction with GuestsI always try to meet folks when you arrive. The NeighborhoodA quiet peaceful area with friendly folks. With nearby open space, there's plenty of wildlife: Deer, fox, rabbits and chipmonks. I see our resident bear once or twice a year. Getting AroundCar is pretty much necessary. SUV is preferred for the mountains. 4wd or awd is recommended November 1st thru April 30th. Other Things to NoteRates are strictly based on the occupants that have rented the home. Place is in perfect shape. Gatherings are very hard on it so not allowed. We don't make you share it with anyone else and you're not allowed to share it either.

Our Rustic Cabin is located on a quiet street within a walking distance to historic district of Idaho Springs and close to all local attraction and famous LOVELAND SKI RESORT. The cabin has two private bedrooms furnished with a queen size bed each. Living room has a queen/full size futon. The kitchen is fully equipped. It is adjacent to the breakfast area. Full bathroom with a tub/shower combo.. There is a high efficiency washer and dryer in the cabin. Please use HE detergent only. Enjoy a beautiful mountain views and wildlife viewing (deer and foxes come very close to the deck) . BBQ grill and patio furniture are available on the deck. We rent the cabin at $195/nt, 2nts min or $1250/wk (=$179/nt). Deposit of $350 is required. Our RUSTIC CABIN is a former real miner's cabin located in the very heart of front range area attractions.       Thank you for considering our RUSTIC CABIN IN HISTORIC IDAHO SPRINGS for your vacation. It is a historic miner's 2 bedroom cabin built in the end of 19th century. There's a Safeway grocery store two blocks down the street and access to liquor stores and dispensaries. Further west (its walk-able) is the historic downtown area with all of its amenities. Getting AroundIdaho Springs is a small town shaped by the highway. One can walk anywhere in town. Most stores are within a few blocks of the property and its a 10 minute walk to the historic downtown area with its brewerys, pubs and restaurants. Other Things to NoteThe town is right off the highway so you will hear a little traffic but because of the location, you will have quick and easy access to all mountain activities.                     Welcome to the Miner Cottage, a restored 1892 miner's cottage located just two blocks from historic downtown Idaho Springs. The Miner Cottage features all the comforts of home, including electricity, running water and indoor plumbing. In other words, it's been updated, but not too updated. The living room has two leather couches and a large leather hassock, all perfect for your doggie to stretch out on for a nice nap. Did we mention it's dog friendly? There's also a wood-burning stove to keep you warm and toasty on those cold mountain nights. The main bedroom is located off the living room and features a queen size bed with pillow-top mattress cover. The second bedroom, located off the kitchen, has a unique bunk bed, with a full size bed on the bottom and a twin bed on top. Don't feel like sampling the wares at any of Idaho Springs' fine eateries? You're in luck, because the modern updated kitchen has a stove, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, coffee maker and a full set of pots, pans, dishes and silverware. There's also a brand new gas grill in the backyard. The bathroom is indoors (none of that corncob nonsense on your vacation!), with a full size washer/dryer, toilet, full bath/shower, soap, towels, hair dryer and assorted toiletries.                       Our home is perfect for those coming to the Summit with friends or family. We are within easy distance of 5 ski resorts: Loveland, Arapahoe Basin, Eldora, Winter Park, and Breckenridge. Each is between 30 minutes to 60 minutes away. When you want to get out, we are located just 1 mile off I-70 outside off Idaho Springs with its historic downtown, restaurants, and shopping. While the skiers head to the slopes, others can be in downtown Denver (30 miles) with all it has to offer. Our home sleeps up to 14 people. At 3,700 sq ft spread over 3 floors, it provides families and friends both privacy and plenty of communal gathering places. Amenities include a wood-burning stove, ping pong table and gaming table. Grocery shopping is just 5 minutes away so going out or getting food for a crowd is no problem. When the ski season is over there is plenty to do. We are minutes away from white water rafting, world-class hiking, zip-lining, stocked fishing ponds, great mountain biking, and other outdoor fun. Terms: The property is not reserved until the owners have received BOTH a rental agreement and half the rental rate. Tenants will pay lodging tax, insurance, and cleaning fees. Half the total is due upon booking, and the other half 30 days prior to booking. Cancellations made more than 60 days out will be refunded 100% percent, 30-60 days will be refunded 50%, and less than 30 days will not be refunded.                       This 3/4 Dome is on 5 Acres adjoins BLM and USFS lands totaling in the hundreds of thousands of Acres. It is 3.5 miles up a dirt road. A 4WD CAR IS REQUIRED IN THE WINTER. It is a cabin in the woods with heat and electricity and running water including free laundry. It is however somewhat rustic and there are no maids, you will be expected to clean up after yourselves. Basic cooking supplies are included but you will need to go grocery shopping. The home has 1 BR and 1 BA and has a total of about 1100 sf. There are three beds in ONE common room w/ loft. It has Heat ( controlled by thermostat) and Water and Electricity....no tv...no internet, but phones work well (4G network) so you can still post to your FB page. There is a stereo with a radio ( you can listen to football games) , a record player and a jack for your phone media. In winter November thru May a 4wd car with good tires is required to reach the Dome. The dome is luxurious in some ways, and rustic in others and its an all around a good value and unique place to stay. It is close to both Denver and to the mountains.

                      We love this end-of-the road property for the privacy, stream with waterfall, and especially the incredible view of the continental divide. It now includes 4 separate parcels totaling 153 acres, and the closest neighbor is a half mile away. Our 2000 square foot cabin is built for guests. We have 3 private bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. The 2nd floor loft has a private bedroom with queen bed and its own bathroom. The main floor bedroom has two twin beds and full bathroom. Downstairs is another full guest suite including a queen bed and full private bath. The kitchen has plenty of space for cooking. There is a gas range, a full set of cookware and spices. Washer and dryer are included. The TV room has a 40 inch flatscreen with satellite TV, a small movie selection, and a few games. We love the outdoor living, so we added 600 square feet of deck facing down the valley to the continental divide. A large outdoor grill with side burner is plumbed directly to our home - no worry about running out of propane! The patio table includes a gas fire pit to warm the cool evenings. Walk a few hundred feet down a hundred year old trail to the waterfalls of Little Bear Creek. The creek originates at the top of our land. It tumbles down the center of the property over several private waterfalls. Game passes through the property as a migration route from Mt. Evans to lower elevations. Deer and elk are common. Bear have been seen on the property. A lynx has left its tracks, but we haven't seen it yet. Our resident foxes are almost pets. Bird lovers will see hummingbirds and friendly gray jays around the cabin. Enjoy a traditional Finnish sauna in the evening. It is a separate building made from local whole logs with a Lamppa Kuuma wood stove and rustic barnwood and stone interior. It is a truly traditional experience with a cold water faucet and a hot water tank heated by the stove. The cabin sits between Evergreen and Idaho Springs, convenient for access to the mountain communities, ski hills, and Arapahoe National Forest. Denver is less than an hour away. Note this property is completely off the grid. We have all the normal conveniences powered by solar with an automatic generator that kicks on when needed. There is no phone line. We use cell phones in the cabin. Throughout the cabin, on all floors, we have in floor radiant heat. We often get asked the altitude. The cabin is at 9600 feet. At this elevation there are a lot of trees and a lot of sun. Snow stays on the ground from November through April.
