The SpaceOur guesthouse is on the Connecticut River in the treasured small town of Chester, half-way between New York and Boston – a little over two hours from each city and 45 minutes from New Haven and Hartford. The cottage features a wide porch, private front yard overlooking the river; a living room with a couch that pulls out to sleeps two comfortably, a dining area and kitchen at one end with a dishwasher. There's a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a good-sized bathroom with tub and shower. The house, on our four-acre property, is private and quiet and about two miles from the center of the village which is well-appointed with wonderful restaurants, a professional theater, galleries and one-of-a-kind shops. There is endless hiking and kayaking possibilities with a boat launch ramp adjacent to the property. Theater, music and a variety of activities and things to do are all close by. The cottage is $130 a night; $700 a week or $2000 a month. We’d love to have you stay. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the front lawn in front of the cottage and to the dock on the Connecticut River. Interaction with GuestsWe don't interact much with our guests. We make an effort to meet them on their arrival or soon after. We're always available to help and to answer questions. The NeighborhoodWe live in a quiet, pretty exclusive neighborhood on a private road on the Connecticut River. The houses are quite far apart. The lively village of Chester is about two miles away where there is a theater, galleries, great restaurants, shops etc. All around is hiking and kayaking and boating as well as picturesque, colonial villages. The SpaceCommon front room of a main street apartment in Deep River, CT that can be closed off for privacy. Shared bath and kitchen. I live in the back. The location is right in the center of Deep River village. The Connecticut River is a pleasant 15 minute walk from here. If you stay more than one night, you can have a key to come and go. The kitchen is available to use and I would be happy to show you around a little! Deep River has a couple of restaurants, shops, grocery store, hardware store and laundromat a short walk away! A dog and cat live here as well. The front room faces Elm Street, which can be a bit busy in the morning. In the summer, more so than the winter, the sounds of traffic begin early. Although it is somewhat intermittent, it can be loud at times as the town hall is across the street and its three story, brick facade reflects and amplifies the sound. The bath is small, and the kitchen very modest. In fact the entire place is quite modest, so if you are used to luxury, this may not be the listing for you. The bed is a full size futon that can sleep two. I can also set up a camp cot for a third person! Wifi is available. Guest AccessGuest have access to the front room, porch, galley kitchen and bathroom. Interaction with GuestsI am around a lot and happy to try to be helpful with knowledge of the area! Dolly the dog and Pietra the cat live here. They will interact with you. Both are super friendly, but if you aren't comfortable with either, please consider a different listing. The NeighborhoodDeep River is a nice, little village with all the needed services - grocery, laundry, hardware store, restaurants and banking services. Getting AroundEverything is accessible by walking. There is also a small, regional bus service called 9-Town Transit that can be accessed across the street. Other Things to NoteYou will have your own access through the front door. There are three apartments in this building. I am on the ground floor and there is a numeral '2' on the front door, which is accessed from the front porch. New AirBnB Users: Please note that I seldom host folks that are brand-new to AirBnB if there are no reviews of past stays or hosting of other AirBnB members, nor any friend references. Also, if there is no information about you in your profile description, I will generally decline a request to be hosted.

The SpaceThis private apartment overlooks the Connecticut River, Essex steam train and Becky Thatcher Riverboat. It is part of an old factory. You have your own private entrance and deck. Guest AccessPlease feel free to play with our dog and chickens. Interaction with GuestsAngus and I both work a lot but we are home every night and would be happy to hang out with you for a bit. On a good night maybe we'll take a boat ride or go for a paddle! Or walk into town with you to check out the pub up the street. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is awesome, the river is right across the street we get to see everybody because they walk their dogs down here. There is a park across the street -you might be lucky enough to be there on a concert night. You can walk into town it's less than a mile away. This building is an event venue. We are three seasons and do weddings from April to November. Weekends would not be available as we have weddings and your space doubles as the bridal suite!!! Getting AroundPublic transportation is a little bit tricky, although you can take a train to Saybrook which is about 15 minutes from us and either take a taxi or Uber or possibly we can pick you up at the train station if that is your mode of transportation. Other than that we are very close to the highway and a convenient drive.
