The SpaceYour spacious guest stone bedroom is one of the two rooms at the upper level of the main stone house, with private entrance from the rear deck. It is furnished with a queen size bed, a chest drawer dresser, desk and an antique armoire, cable TV, WIFI / internet.
It has a wood stove inside the fireplace, recessed lights and tray ceiling.
The 2nd bedroom is optional. The queen bed can comfortably fit 2 additional guests.
Fully equipped kitchen with granite counter top, glass cooktops, full size frig, built-in wine-rack, breakfast bar and more. It is available for you to prepare a simple meal or reheat take-outs. It has a freezer/refrigerator, glass cooktops, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven. It is stocked with basic necessities such as glasses, cups, dinnerware, silverware, cooking utensils, pots, pans and condiments.
A unique cozy bathroom with stained glass window is located next to the breakfast bar.
As you enter the living room, you will find a stone fireplace with a food warmer one side and an inset to store fire logs below it. The majestic wood beams create an appealing cathedral ceiling in the living room. During the summer months, the stone bedroom is usually cool.
During the winter months, a small heater is provided to supplement the cast-iron heater inside the stone room, if needed. As the stone is warmed up, it retains the heat for the rest of the night. Guest AccessThe entrance to the stone house is via the front and the rear deck. Park your car either near the door or in the lower parking lot facing the creek. We have limited parking space. If you have more than 1 car, please advise in advance . Guests can access the common ground provided they comply with our house rules. Interaction with GuestsAfter the guests check in and settle down at their private room, we might not be present all the time during their stay, though we can be reached via telephone or text messaging. We respect their privacy and they will not be bothered by us. It is up to the guest to interact at the level comfortable to them. The NeighborhoodOur house is on a quiet country road, surrounded by woods and nature. on the west side of Danbury.
Our property includes a creek,, multi-tiers of stone walls, stone garden, stone walkways, stone pond and a stone house built in the 40's. The creek is lined with boulders up the hill, with water flowing down from the eastbranch river. After it rains, listen to the soothing sound of water rippling down the creek.
Our house is within walking distance to restaurants, banks and shops.
It is also conveniently located near local major corporations, easy access to major highways, 5 minutes to Danbury Fair Mall, Tarrywile hiking trails, 0.5 hr to over 200 hiking trails in Westchester county. We are only a train ride or 1.5 hr drive to NYC.
If you are here on an extended stay and want some excitement on weekends, take the train to
New York City for a day trip and can still return to your apartment
the same day. Plan your day and choose among multiple museums, Broadway shows and
off Broadway shows, restaurants and more. Commuter parking is free at the nearby MTA
train station on weekends. If you choose to drive to New York City, start your day
early to find free street parking in Manhattan on Sunday. There are many local attractions
if you like to stay around Danbury: Danbury Fair Mall with
Carousal, Danbury Railway Museum, EastBranch Reservoir in the Autumn, Farrington Pond,
Hammond Museum Japanese Garden, Harley Davidson, Ivy Concert Park,Richter Park and Golf Course ... and more. Getting AroundHart bus is the local public transportation in Danbury.
