The House and furnishings:
I actually think because the house is so big and there are only two big screened tvs (one in the master bedroom and one in the kitchen) is why the other people thought there was not enough furnishings. In four years of renting the house out for long seasons, no one has ever complained about the lack of TVs. In fact, they make a point of it. There is completely wireless wifi so your computers will be fully operational. However, here is the overview, so you can decide.
There are two dining room tables (one in the kitchen and one in the dining room) each with enough seating for 8 people. You could probably squeeze more if you guys are very friendly and you want to move chairs around. There are also seven bar stools in the kitchen which flows through to the family room.
In the family room, there is one couch, two small coffee tables, two upright chairs and two comfortable lounging chairs with ottomans. In the living room, there is one desk, two office chairs, one couch, two upright chairs, one coffee table and one very comfortable lounge chair with ottoman. The dining room chairs can always be situated into any of the spaces to make more seating.
In the main master bedroom, there is one king sized bed. One very large white couch with two oversized ottomans. There is also an arc elliptical and a stomach machine. Of course there is a private bath with shower and soaking tub and bidet.
In two other oversized bedrooms that each have their own bathrooms and lofts, there are two other king sized beds. In one of these rooms, there is also a couch.
In the guest room, there is a private bathroom, with a double sized bed.
In the maid's room (behind the dance studio and laundry on the second floor) there is also a double bed with private bathroom.
There is another small bedroom with a queen- sized luxury blow up mattress and a half bath.
In the lower level, there is one single bed and there is a full bathroom with laundry. There are also two reclining, very comfortable, but very ugly archie-bunker type chairs.
There is a dance studio with oversized professional gymnastics mats that I suppose someone could sleep on. In the dance studio, there is also a ballet bar (pilates anyone?), a boxing bag and gloves, a rowing machine and some weights.
Let me know how this sounds for you. Best to you,
The Beaches and neighborhood:
Hi, this is ElizaBeth, the homeowner. The house is one minute by car and a fifteen minute walk (about one mile) from two train stations, (Southport and Greens Farms). It is also about ten miles from the Westport (Saugatuck train station) and Fairfield train stations. The later two bigger train stations have cabs waiting. Although you could easily call UBER and have cabs waiting at the closer train stations (Greens Farms and Southport). The Southport beach is an easy walk from the house (it's around the bend). Burying Hill beach is one mile down the road, a longer walk. There is a deli called Spic and Span a little further than the Southport train station, and a local pizza place (Southport pizza?). There is also a wonderful restaurant at the Southport train station...about a mile... easy UBER and ok walk but remember suburban roads are dark at night so bring a flashlight and wear reflective clothing. That is called PACI which is in Southport. Once again, it's an easy cab ride. Food shopping wise, You could order anything in! And Balduccis is also about two miles but I'd cab it. Then you can always rent a car at enterprise. May give you more flexibility, but it depends on what you're looking for.
Of course, I must mention that the street the house is on is the Gold Coast of Fairfield County, it's like the best Central Park out your door. People are always walking their dogs, running and biking! It's a beautiful winding street that runs along the coast, the best of the best!
If you do have a car, ten minutes drives you to Compo Beach, where you can get a day pass, Westport Town, Farms, the Levitt Pavilion with free concerts every night except Monday, every convenience imaginable, many fabulous restaurants or butcher shops to cook your own! Interaction with GuestsWhatever is necessary. The NeighborhoodIt's Westport! Getting AroundTwo metro north train stations are each one mile from the house and an hour from Manhattan. Uber and taxis are available. One of the many beaches is walking distance across the road. Car rentals are available. Other Things to NoteWeekends and holidays are $850.00/nite.
