The SpaceOur home is a classic shingle-style beach house with tons of light, plenty of space, comfortable and classic furnishings and loaded with modern conveniences. The best part, however, is the location - just three houses from the water in a quiet safe neighborhood on a dead end road. Our beach is private and for the residents of our neighborhood, but since it is rarely occupied, you will likely have your very own private beach experience! The CT shoreline is full of beach alternatives, should you want variety; Hammonasset Park is a short stroll away. There is even a hiking/biking trail at the end of our street that leads to the Park if you are looking for more vigorous activity. Other activities popular to the region include hiking, biking (2 included), kayaking (3 included), paddle boarding, fishing, bird watching, just to name a few. Guest AccessThe house itself has three bedrooms and an open loft, all fully furnished with all necessary linens. The master is a large room with water views, a new and super comfortable king sized bed, HDTV with cable access and a DVD player. On the same level are two additional bedrooms making this a perfect family or large group get away – one is outfitted with a full bed, the second with two twin beds. The loft space can be used as an additional sleeping space.
The kitchen is modern and comfortable for a group to gather and offers a breakfast bar for additional space. It is fully furnished and the stainless appliances are new. In the living room you will find space to relax. On cooler evenings, there is even a gas fireplace for your comfort. This is my personal favorite room to put my feet up and relax with the Sunday paper over coffee or to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Lastly on the main floor is a den with lots of light and French doors leading to the large deck where you will find a gas grill and outdoor furniture for dining al-fresco on a nice summer night. For the older kids in your group, there is a “teen room” on the lower level with a Wii, HDTV, and streaming video.
Interaction with GuestsI'm available 24 hours a day by phone or text. My permanent residence is less than a mile away, so I can be on site on short notice. The NeighborhoodMadison is a quaint New England town on the Long Island Sound which attracts a sophisticated mix of residents and visitors from all over the world. People are drawn to the town by its traditional New England feel coupled with breathtaking waterfront vistas. While downtown Madison is full of quaint shops and fine dining, nearby towns offer several alternatives - I’d be happy to be your guide to the shoreline while at the house! During the summer season, special events are plentiful and the quaint church greens and downtown areas come alive with concerts and other attractions. Additionally, Madison’s own R.J.Julia bookstore hosts an ongoing lecture series by world class authors while next door, in Branford, the Thimble Island Cruises take visitors past the summer cottages of the rich and famous, both past and present.
Madison is less than two hours from NYC and just slightly further from Boston. It is an ideal place to explore the beaches, shopping, fine dining, endless activities, in addition to the history of the CT shoreline. At our house, you can do it all!
Please note our home is intended as a family home, large parties over 6 guests will be charged an additional $100 per additional guest per week.
