The SpaceOur beautiful Clearwater cottage is the perfect beach get-a-way for a family or small group of friends. It’s one of those homes that you walk in and just go, ahhhh, this is nice…! We bought this home a few years ago because we couldn’t resist the ‘cute’ factor and all-around peaceful beach vibes that it gives off! It’s the quintessential white-picket-fenced cottage with the blue door that makes you feel like you’re home! Also, we own a two person kayak and a new boat that fits 8! If you want to rent the kayak or go visit the islands for a day or go on a fishing trip, you can book that all through us directly at a deep discount to the local companies! Location: Our home is located exactly 1.8 miles from the beach, just over the stunning Clearwater Beach causeway and less than 1 mile from downtown Clearwater. You can drive to the beach in 5 minutes or walk there in under 30! If you want to experience all that the area has to offer (but not be stuck at the beach with all the tourists and fighting traffic everyday to leave and go see the surrounding sights), this is where you want to be! We are 25-30 minutes from Tampa airport and under 2 hours from the Orlando airport and Disney! The area and streets around us are safe and we have an enclosed back yard with a privacy fence that can hold 2 cars if needed. This section of the home has an open flow to it and is perfect for family dinners or a group hang out. The master bedroom boasts one extremely comfortable queen bed while the second bedroom contains 2 twin trundle beds (perfect for kids or for those friends that like to shack up!). The home has one full bathroom with great water pressure and plenty of hot water! Exterior: One of the best parts about this home is the spacious backyard patio and BBQ area. If the weather is nice (and it’s almost always nice in Clearwater!), you can lounge on the back patio on our hammock, grill up a nice fish on our top notch BBQ, or warm up by the fire pit while the sunsets! The SpaceThe house is one block to the intercoastal water on a corner lot. The neighborhoods along the water are very beautiful and great for jogs or walks. The sunset is also divine from the waters edge. The house comes with towels, sheets, some dish soap and a fully equipped kitchen. There may or may not be toilet paper, trash bags, laundry soap; so pick some up on your way in. All bedding is washed and changed before your arrival. If there is food in the refrigerator you may use it. I encourage people to completely empty the fridge upon leaving! There is a BBQ joint just 1 block away on a funny corner but is only open Thur-Sat. Worth it to go! Guest AccessYou can access the whole house including the office but I ask that you don't go into the office closet at all. That is where I keep my clothes and other personal items that I don't want anyone to touch or use. There is nothing in there that is OK for anyone to take, borrow, etc. Interaction with GuestsI may be in the area but I may not be; so you will have to likely find your way in to the house on your own and make yourself at home. I may be travelling when you are staying at the house so my answers might take a half a day or a day. But I promise I will always respond. I have plumbers and AC people, etc, who I can contact for you if anything goes wrong and please DO let me know if anything seems like it needs attention. The NeighborhoodThere is a great local health food store, Natures Food Patch, just up Cleveland St. And a Publix down Ft. Harrison just about a 5 minute drive or less. Starbucks is right downtown :) Other Things to NoteThere are some stray cats that come to the backyard. Please do NOT feed them as they pee on things sometimes and sleep on the outdoor furniture if they aren't discouraged. The water hose is long enough to go to the front or the back yard but has only one nozel by the carport. Be sure to turn it off when you are done otherwise it leaks. The electrical breaker is out by the washer/dryer if needed. The AC and heating thermostat and control is in the big bedroom behind the horse picture. Please try to keep it at 77 or 78 during the day but not any colder than that otherwise it gets over-worked. At night you can set it down to 76 and the house will be very cool and comfortable. Please do not close any of the AC vents because all need to be open for the house to get enough circulation and all doors should be also be left open during the day and even at night if you want the best cooling in the kitchen area. The side with the kitchen gets the warmest because it gets full sun exposure all day.

The SpaceHELLO! BONJOUR! BUENOS DIAS! OLA! Our cute, quiet, 240 SF cozy chalet is in a residential neighborhood 1/2 mile from the water (the sound). It is a studio apartment which occupies 1/2 the garage next to the house, which is also listed on Airbnb (Historic Bungalow). Our place is great for couples with kids or for friends. We have 2 beds, so can accommodate 4 people, but if you don't mind being a bit squeezed, you could put a 5th person on a mattress on the floor. We have what you need for a comfortable, fun, relaxing stay: microwave, toaster oven, hot plate, mini fridge, electric kettle, pots, pans, utensils, dishes, silverware, dish towels, paper towels. Our chalet is next to our house, and has its own private entrance and parking in our driveway. There's a super comfortable queen bed in the main room, and a double bed in the loft. Sheets, bedspreads and towels are provided. TV has only a few channels since we don't have cable. TV enthusiasts be advised :-) We are just 5 miles to Clearwater Beach (10 minutes without traffic), 8 miles to Honeymoon Island & Caledisi Island (voted in top 10 beaches in US), and 1.5 miles to downtown Dunedin, with its quaint boutiques, restaurants and marina. Tarpon Springs, "the sponge capital of the world," is a 20-minute drive north, with lots of Greek restaurants, shops, and of course, natural sponges. St. Petersburg and Tampa are each 30 minutes away. You can drive 1 minute to the water's edge and watch osprey and pelicans dive for their breakfast. Bus stop is 1 block away. The area is great for cycling, and there are many bike rental places nearby, and also a place that sells refurbished bikes if you're here for a while. *** PLEASE SEE OUR GUIDE FOR ALL THERE IS TO DO AROUND HERE! *** ALSO: WIFI INTERNET LOCAL TELEVISION ONLY - no cable FREE PARKING in our driveway - you're never blocked in. BUS STOP (bus #66) 1/2 block away, goes to downtown Clearwater. You then change buses to go to the beach. (But I recommend renting a car, since you'll be limited by public transport here). SWIMMING POOL 10 MINUTES AWAY: Dunedin Pool at Highlander Park, $3/person. It has a large pool with diving boards and slides, and a kiddie pool for small children. EASY CHECK-IN & OUT: I don't need to be here if you arrive early or late, so you can check yourself in and out (I'll hide the key for you). We look forward to helping you have a great stay in Clearwater! Interaction with GuestsI am available if you need me for anything -- questions about the neighborhood or area, help with the chalet, or even to chat over a cup of coffee if time allows in both our schedules. Don't hesitate to text, email or call me. The NeighborhoodI love how close we are to the beach (10-minute drive with no traffic), that Dunedin with its shops & cafes is only a 2-minute drive, and that we are only 5 blocks from the water, where you can walk or bike ride. We are also just 3 blocks from the Pinellas Trail, which is a paved trail extending the entire length of Pinellas County, which is used for walking, running, rollerblading and cycling. Getting AroundCar or Uber are definitely best, as public transport is limited here. Feel free to wander around, use the sitting areas and gas grill. It is not uncommon to see an Egret hunting for his dinner in the garden. We are also home to the endangered Monarch Butterflies. During your stay you are likely to see Oreo, a rescue bunny who lives in the garden. She is allowed to roam free. She enjoys human companionship but doesn't like to be picked up or pet. I have soil restoration projects, rain water harvesting and composting on site. I'm happy to give garden tours and gardening tips upon request (to anyone who will listen). The NeighborhoodYour in the middle of the city but you feel like your out in the country. Getting AroundTry the Jolly Trolley $4.50 for an all day pass! Pinellas bike trail minutes away!
