Location, Location, Location---
Boca, as the locals call it, is a terrific place for you to mix and match fun on the water with the posh. Feel idyllic as soothing Atlantic Ocean breezes go from the beaches across the Intracoastal Waterway to the tip of the Florida Everglades. After a day on the water, go from shorts to fine dress for a night on the town. Boca Raton, Florida is indeed the place for you to have a relaxing, but equally entertaining stay.
Cruise the Intracoastal Waterway to enjoy a gourmet dinner or ride the waves of the Atlantic Ocean to catch that trophy fish aboard local charters. If undersea vistas are your idea of memorable fun, then dive and snorkel the wrecks and reefs of the Boca Raton Inlet with its tantalizing species of unique corals, moray eels, goliath groupers and snappers. The calm, clear waters ensure swimming is enjoyable year-round; making the beaches and parks a friendly and refreshing place you and the kids. Glide over the River of Grass, just west of the coast, as the Florida Everglades come alive on an airboat ride.
The corridors of downtown Boca Raton and Mizner Park are where you can find delicious chophouses or fresh seafood favorites. In Mizner, visit the Boca Raton Museum of Art for works dating back to the 18th century and modern day travelling exhibits. Next to the Museum, go the amphitheater for a concert and the annual Festival of the Arts BOCA. Discover Gumbo Limbo Nature Center, where your family can encounter an assortment of unique animals, including sea turtles, snakes, and stingrays.
Attractions are where Boca really gets interesting. You want beach? It’s here. You want wildlife? From verdant wetlands to purpose-built education centers, it’s here. You want culture? Whether that means concerts at Mizner Park’s amphitheater or the expansive collections of the Boca Raton Museum of Art, it is all here. For a combination of the botanical and the historical, the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens has been delighting visitors with an immersion into Japanese culture since 1977. Closer to Boca’s beautiful beaches, the 20-acre Gumbo Limbo Marine and Coastal Environmental Complex delights visitors even as it educates them.
Sugar Sand Park is a lesser known but fabulous find for families featuring an enormous tri-level play area, Science Explorium, nature trails and a beautiful carousel that's ideal for photo-ops. Getting AroundBest Attractions and Activities, by 10Best
