Sample the views from four rocking-chair porches; have coffee on the breezeway. Bike or play horseshoes, bocce, or croquet. Swing in the hammock or share a glass of wine around the fire pit. Interaction with GuestsWe do not live at the Brady Inn; however, we or one of our great staff members meet you on arrival and provide a map of the town, a walking tour guide of the historic district, sample menus from our restaurants, and lots of information on what to see and do. We are happy to make reservations for you and share the history of our beautiful town designated for the second year in a row as One of the Most Beautiful Villages in the World.
In the morning, come to the kitchen and help yourself to a cup of our freshly brewed coffee or gourmet tea while we finish preparing a fabulous multi-course breakfast. Although seated at your own table, we love to visit with you over breakfast. Quite often our guests strike up conversations with each other as well. The NeighborhoodThe Brady Inn is located on a quiet street and surrounded by almost two acres of beautiful grounds and gardens set in what had been a pecan orchard. And yes, if the pecans are on the ground, you are welcomed to take some with you! The restaurants, museums, shops, historic attractions are only a few blocks away. You can walk everywhere and don't need to use your car.
Madison has the largest collection of 19th century architecture and the second largest historic district in the state with wonderful antebellum homes. Tour 3 historic homes virtually year round, visit the Cultural Center and its regional museum. Note: every block seems to have at least one historical marker!
Stop in at Perk Avenue for a light lunch, Big Kev's for Southern BBQ, Town 220 for a spectacular dinner (we provide vouchers for a glass of wine or desert with an entree), or have Aaron make you a cocktail at Ricardo's on the weekend. Adrian's Place serves an authentic southern lunch but when they sell out, they are done for the day! Catch an art film at Ricky D's and don't miss their "speakeasy" wine bar, stop at Antique Sweets for homemade chocolates and sweet confections, and don't miss Barkin' Dawgs Shoe Store, Amelia's, and BB&G for great clothes.
Oh my goodness, there is too much to see and do! Do stop at Town Park and relax in the adult swings. Plan it right and you might catch a concert, "street" dance, or festival.
