The SpaceWe are so happy you are planning on visiting Kailua-Kona! This area has so much to offer! The home is located about 2 mile South of the Kailua-Kona village area, and 10 miles from the airport. We are 3 miles from the famous "Iron Man" finish line! This location is fabulous and really everything is a very 'doable' from here with out long drives. A day trip heading to the north is about 40-80 miles depending on your route, Volcano National Park is 90 miles South. To the east-side, (Hilo) it is a 2 hour drive. We recommend maybe limiting your stay on the Hilo side to one night or just do a day trip. If this is your first time to this magical island, do not be dismayed when you land on a huge barren lava field, I promise the majority of the island is lush and gorgeous! If you have a week or so here and IF the lava is flowing and you want to see it at night, you may want to stay one night on the other side the island, and enjoy sight seeing in that area heading back to Kona the following day. MOST of my guests prefer the Kona side and 97% of things you want to see and do are accessible from here with in an hours drive. The house is charming and clean and has ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. There is a small fridge in your closet. You have your own patio with a gas grill and it is quite private. You have limited kitchen access for light meal preparation. We are very easy to talk with and I have all that one usually needs, like beach mats, coolers, beach towels, etc. There is beach access about 5 minutes away walking for sunset and hanging out. Swim beach is 2 miles away, or 20 minute walk. It is just a 2 bedroom house so only myself or Joseph will be there too. We are metaphysical in nature, love being around like minded people. We love dancing, swimming with the wild Dolphins, and cooking for starts. Not a lot of "rules" here except to clean up well after yourself so the tiny ants don't come for a feeding, be considerate and no cigarette or cigar smoking please close to our place. (vapor cigarettes are fine) there is a washer/dryer. Power is very expensive here, so be aware please, fans off while away and lights off please. We appreciate $5.00 per load of wash. We are happy to point you in the "right" direction for affordable grocery shopping, points of interest and places to eat and dance! You wont have TV, but we have 100's of DVD's, and WiFi. We look forward to sharing "Aloha" with you. Guest AccessYou have access to the kitchen for light meal preparations, dinning area, and patio. You may use the washer and dryer as well, $5.00 per load because of the high electric cost! Interaction with GuestsWe are are happy to share our knowledge of the island, things to do, places to see and restaurants to enjoy. If you want to swim with wild Dolphins going from shore, you must have snorkel gear, and be a good confident swimmer. Cecily will share her knowledge of swimming with Dolphins with you and where to go for the best opportunity to find them! The NeighborhoodIts not on a through road and it is quite peaceful. It is a great location for access to the main Hwy and the cute Kailua-Kona oceanfront village! We are about 2 miles from Magic Sands beach and 3 miles to a good snorkel beach and you can usually swim with turtles there! Getting AroundWe have very limited public transit. There are good tour companies but we highly recommend renting a car. Please park to the far left of the driveway, or the street. Mahalo Other Things to NoteW(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

The SpaceCarrie’s Cottage Guest Suite Aloha and e komo mai! Clean, comfortable and spacious, our guest suite with loft is located in our main home in Kaloko on 1.5 acres on the slopes of Hualalai. At the base of an Ohia Forest, this is one of Kona’s most desirable and scenic areas. Peaceful, quiet and situated at 1700 foot elevation, this location brings cool evenings and days. Our property is surrounded by kukui, ohia, silver oak, and fruit trees. The Guest Suite has two private entrances and a large private bathroom. The bedroom is furnished with a Queen bed, built in desk, sitting area, flat screen TV and wireless internet access. There is also an outdoor bistro set, small fridge, microwave and coffee maker. We are located 10 minutes from Keahole International Airport, minutes from Costco and the heart and heat of Kailua-Kona. Very close by are several beautiful hiking trails as well as Makalei Golf Course. Kaloko is also centrally located to many of the beautiful beaches along the coastline, 40 minutes from Waimea town and 55 minutes from the base of the world famous Mauna Kea, home of Keck Observatory. We offer the opportunity to stay in one of the “Big Islands” special areas that we call home. We have two small dogs, two cats, and a small flock of chickens, (No Roosters). While we are happy to share this experience, please be aware that this is our home and not a 5 star resort. There is a 3 night minimum. Rates vary depending on the time of year. The SpaceAloha Travelers! I'm so happy you are planning on visiting Kailua-Kona! If you choose to become part of my "Ohana" (family) while visiting Kona you will be welcomed by a "Super Host". I was awarded this honor after receiving more than 92% five star ratings from my guests, which I am so grateful! The State of Hawaii requires I pay a total of 13.5% in hotel and sales tax on income from airbnb, not to mention state income tax! The 13.5 % is included in your cost. Please be aware that many people do not have a license to operate legally! I am open to a 'tip' if spirit moves you to help with this cost, but it is not expected! I will greet you with a fresh flower lei, have a basket of local fruits and flowers in your room, a box of Hawaiian chocolates in your refrigerator, as well as filtered water, and treats. I provide 100% Hawaiian coffee, and an assortment of teas. You are welcome to use staples in my kitchen for light cooking. There is a copy of "The Big Island Hawaii Revealed" in your room to help you explore options of how you want to spend the days, and I'm here to help you as well! I also have connections for great price on Manta Ray night swims, which my guests rave about! I also provide a local cell phone for my international guests to help with communications for tours and with me! And that is not all! Beach towels, beach bags, boogie boards, chairs, cooler, swim noodles, and I have nice quality shampoo and conditioner all for your use! If this is your first time to this magical island, do not be dismayed when you land on a huge barren lava field, I promise the majority of the island is lush and gorgeous! This area has so much to offer! My home is located about one mile South of the Kailua-Kona village area, and 8 miles from the airport. We are 2 miles from the famous "Iron Man" finish line! This location is fabulous and really everything is a very 'doable' from here with out long drives. A day trip heading to the north is about 40-80 miles depending on your route, Volcano National Park is 90 miles South. To the east-side, (Hilo) it is a 1.5 hour drive with out stops. Whether you stay with me or someone else, I personally would discourage you from staying in Hilo, and certainly not more than a night, or better yet, one night in Volcano, see the crater glow at night (if the volcano is active) and a drive back to Kona through Hilo, perhaps visit the Botanical Gardens and Akaka Falls if you like. It rains a lot, and is much cooler than Kona, has a lot of Mosquito's and loud frogs, very little beach. Be sure not to fly into Hilo! My complex has 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and is well maintained and nicely landscaped. The Turtle Room is a master bedroom with a queen bed, in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor condo. It is very clean, and bright. The room is tastefully decorated, hard wood flooring, and has green accent colors. There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. The room has air conditioning, however due to Hawaii having the highest electric cost in the united states I charge $7 a day for limited use. There is a small fridge as well as a microwave, electric water pot, etc. There may not be room for extra towels and toiletries in the bathroom so they need to come in and out with you, hair styling needs to be in your room as well. There is a great mirror! Also, I keep a few things under that bed and rarely need access, but would always ask first when I do. I have a large patio with a gas grill and it is quite private. You have limited kitchen access for light meal preparation. I am very easy to talk with so feel free to ask about anything! Needs, wants, help, a bandages, aspirin, etc. If I can help I will! There is beach access about 3 minutes away walking. Swim beach is 2 miles away. The limited bus service stops right in front of my complex too. You would be a temporary roommate! Usually it would just be you and who ever is in the dolphin bedroom, (and that is typically a single person), and myself, occasionally I will have a friend over or staying with me, and I have been known to sleep on the couch rarely in that case! I am up late at night usually and up early in the morning, so this does not seem to create any problem. About me: I am metaphysical in nature, love being around like minded people. My passions are dancing, swimming with the wild Dolphins and cooking! Not a lot of "rules" here except to clean up well after yourself so the tiny ants don't come for a feeding, keep the screen doors closed, be considerate and no cigarette or cigar smoking please close to my place. (vapor cigarettes are fine) I have a washer/dryer and we line dry when possible. You can use the dryer if absolutely necessary. Power is very expensive here, so be aware please, fans off while away and lights off please. I'm happy to point you in the "right" direction for affordable grocery shopping, points of interest and places to eat and dance! I have no TV, but I have a DVD player in your room, and LOTS of DVDs! I do have WiFi. Please use headphones when possible. The patio is shared with guests. I look forward to sharing "Aloha" with you. In Joy Cecily Guest AccessYou have access to the kitchen for light meal preparation, the patio for lounging, eating, and grilling, the pools and hot tubs. Interaction with GuestsI'm known for my enthusiastic opinions on what and where to go and or see, where to eat, where not to eat, ways to save money, etc. while on the Big island! I'm not attached you following my advise, suggestions or accepting offers to join me in adventures, but if you ask for my opinion, (and maybe if you dont) I will happily guide you if I am here! I travel occasionally (maybe 3 weeks out of the year) but I will always make sure you have contact with my helper friend! If I go off island, she will greet you and make sure you are well cared for! Its your special time in Hawaii!!!! The NeighborhoodI'm in a nice pretty quiet condo complex located very close to town, parking is in front of my ground floor unit, and it is nicely landscaped, and there is security person driving around all the time. A small beach seldom frequented by other people is across the street. I love it for sunsets, reading and wave watching. The closest swim beaches are 2 miles either direction, a great snorkel beach is 4 miles away. I'm 1 mile to fun restaurants, hula, music, dancing, dinning, shopping, and farmers market. (Closed Monday) Getting AroundYou really need a car!!!! There is very limited bus service. A cab is 7.00 to town from my house plus tip, $45 from the airport. Tours are great but expensive and many don't pick you up. If I'm free you can pay me to help with transportation, less than a cab, but you will be happiest if you can drive and have a car! I can give you the name of a great site to rent from, and they have a special for international travelers which includes insurance. Airbnb won't let me give any websites or numbers until booking are accepted, but I am happy to help if I can. Other Things to NoteI am LGBT friendly! my business license number is W(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) your Hotel and sales tax which totals 13% is included in your price because airbnb will not collect it. I am open to a 'tip

The SpaceThe house is grand but welcoming, and what a VIEW! There are many different spaces for relaxing and enjoying the peace and quiet. A large group can spread out and not see much of each other or gather in the great room for a banquet or a polka! Included in the rental is the use of two beginner (foam) surfboards and a standup paddle board (SUP). Head down to the beginner break and catch some waves, or we can point you to where you can easily paddle out from shore and swim with dolphins in the wild! HIGHLIGHTS: 3 master bedroom suites, each with full bath 3600 sq ft of indoor space, 5 separate lanai (porches) provide 2000 sq ft of outdoor living space (most covered), real beds for 16 (plus up to 5 queen AeroBeds) 9 separate sleeping areas, two kitchens, full laundry facilities, wireless internet, hardwood floors, cathedral ceilings, ample parking, cool nights and warm days, closer to the best beaches than anything in Kona town, including top-rated Kua Bay, quiet, completely private 1.5 acre lot all to yourselves. free use of boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers, surfboards, snorkel gear, beach towels, sand toys, and a NEW STANDUP PADDLE BOARD! VIRTUAL TOUR: The folks who sold us this house produced a very nice virtual tour. The "pano" shots give you 360 degree views of most parts of the house. Of course, it shows the house with their furniture, but except for the studio (which they used as an office), we have made similar choices about furniture placement. Go to... tours(D0T)hawaiianvirtualtours(D0T)C0M and search for tour number 4984. MORE DETAILS ABOUT THE HOUSE Natural Air Conditioning: We are at a perfect 1600 ft (500m) elevation, with expansive ocean and coastline views. Folks who live 300 ft below us are in the lava desert where they need air conditioning many nights; homes 300 ft above us are in the cloud forest where you don't get direct sunlight some days. Here, the cool nights are a wonderful contrast to the warm sunny days. The temperature is just chilly enough most nights to want a light blanket, but warms into the 70’s by about 9am. Mosquitos are almost never a problem. If it has rained recently there will be some mosquitos in the back garden at dusk; but we eat dinner nearly every evening on the front lanai, which is 20 ft off the ground, without any problems. The Grounds: Our house is situated well off the street at the end of a long driveway in a very private 1.5 acre lot filled with banana, papaya, macadamia nut, coffee and avocado trees. You are welcome to share in the bounty when the fruit (or the vegetables in our organic garden) are in season. Unlike many farm-like settings in Hawaii, we have no roosters to disturb your sleep. There is a gas grill on the back lanai which you are welcome to use, and a gas fire pit to roast Smores or warm yourself on cool evenings. Also in the back of the house, surrounded by a trellis and lush greenery for privacy, is our out-door shower with hot water! This is a wonderful first stop when you return home from the beach. Central Location: We are just 8 minutes to Kona town with its restaurants and nightlife, and 5 minutes from Costco, directly above some of the best coastline on the island: Honokohau Harbor and National Park, and the Pine Trees surf break. The airport is 12 minutes. BEACHES: Kua Bay, recently voted the best beach on the Big Island and sporting the best boogie boarding, body surfing, and frolicking is just 15 minutes away. Our location gives us traffic-free access to all the kick’n Kohala beaches (Kua, Kukio, Beach 69, Hapuna and Mauna Kea) as well as Waimea, which is just 35 minutes. The Waipio Valley overlook is 75 minutes. Hilo is just over an hour via the recently completed Saddle Road Hwy. Captain Cook and points south (Green Sand Beach, Southpoint, and Volcano) can be accessed, avoiding the Kona traffic, via the quaint artist town of Holualoa, and the picturesque Mamalahola Highway. Beds: Master: king BR#2: queen, 2 twins (bunk beds) plus twin the loft BR#3: king plus a queen in the loft Studio Mainspace: Cal king, twin Studio Alcove: Queen and full size crib Plus up to 5 Queen AeroBeds (These are very comfortable, bed height with headboard, and can be placed in any room). Bedroom Descriptions: The Master Suite is nearly 500 sq ft and boasts panoramic ocean views, stained glass windows, cathedral ceilings, and a jetted tub surrounded by screened windows, creating the feeling of taking a bath in the forest canopy. Bedroom Suites #2 and #3 are each the size of an ordinary master bedroom with en suite full bath with tub, 18 ft ceilings and a loft. The mauka (mountain side) suite (#2) has French doors opening onto the garden and is outfitted with a twin in the loft, twin bunk beds, and a queen bed. It is a mirror image of the makai (ocean side) suite except the latter has a king size bed, a queen in the loft and its own private balcony with ocean views. Downstairs is a 1000 sq foot studio apartment. The main space is outfitted with a California king bed and twin bed, a pool and ping pong table, and a kitchen with a full size fridge. An alcove off the studio (separated by a heavy curtain) has a queen bed and a full size crib, and its own entrance to a bathroom (shared with the studio main space). There is an adjacent covered sleeping porch where one or more AeroBeds can be set up. We also have a full size cot and pac'n play, available upon request which can be placed in any room. Even the studio has ocean views from its picture window and two large lanais. With its own entrance and a door directly into the main house, the studio is a perfect space for the in-laws or a second family that is part of your group. Food Preparation: The primary kitchen is well stocked, has space for several people to work together, and is integrated into the Great Room. It has three sinks, over 8 square meters of granite counter space, cutting boards, dishwasher and other stainless steel appliances, a Vitamix blender, and everything else a foodie needs to grill, bake, or wok delicious meals. (There is also a kitchen with a full size fridge in the studio.) In the back of the house is a lanai with a gas grill. This lanai is also our favorite place to breakfast since it catches the morning rays. Jurassic Park: If you get hot and want a change from the beach, go two miles straight up our street (Kaloko Drive) into the Cloud Forest. There you will find some of the best hiking trails on the island, including one which was used for scenes in the movie Jurassic Park. The House Manual includes detailed instructions on how to find our favorite hikes, most of which you will not find in any guidebook! Equipment: Beach and bath towels, all linens, hair dryer, shampoo/conditioner, boogie boards, surf boards, beach chairs, and coolers are available for use free of charge. Surfers, paddle surfers, bikers (road or mountain): inquire with us about renting our bikes or boards. We can also arrange a surfing lesson for beginners or experts (with a top professional), or just point you to where the waves are breaking. Adventure: There is no place on earth like the Big Island of Hawaii, and we chose this house because it is the perfect base for exploring it. You are welcome to borrow from our library of guide books, and we are happy to share our recommendations for the best beaches and hikes, the best places to snorkel with dolphins in the wild, where to eat and shop in Kona, and other little known secrets. From here you can day trip to other parts of the (URL HIDDEN) the wild coast near Hawi, the rugged jungle and spectacular waterfalls of the Hamuka coast and Waipio Valley, and, of course, the unparalleled Volcanoes National Park. Guest AccessGuests have the entire 3600 square foot house and 1.5 acre property all to themselves. In addition there are five covered lanais (porches). Interaction with GuestsYou will have the house all to yourself, and unless you have questions, you will not see us during your stay. When planning your trip, many guests take advantage of our extensive local knowledge. We have explored most every part of this island including many hidden gems that are not in the guide books. If you tell us what you like to do, we can help you confidently include just the right amount of adventure in your trip. We can also recommend the best places to eat out or where to buy when eating in. (The very freshest food can be picked right from the garden, and you are encouraged to enjoy whatever is in season.) The NeighborhoodThe Big Island is a BIG place. We chose this house partly because of it's perfect central location. At 1600 ft above sea level, we have the perfect climate: cool nights and warm days, and easy, traffic-free access to the beaches. We are one of the closest upscale neighborhoods to Kua Bay (15 minutes)--recently rated the top beach on the Big Island and one of the top ten beaches in the USA! We are close to everything: airport (12 minutes), Kona (8 minutes), Costco (5 minutes) and the recently opened Saddle Road Hwy gets you from our house to the Hilo (wet) side in just over an hour. Getting AroundPublic transportation on the big island is very poor. A rental car is a must no matter where you are staying. Other Things to NoteThis is a good choice for a group who values privacy (this is a VERY private lot), likes to prepare and eat food together (with a cooks kitchen and a huge deck with a killer view), and prefers healthy cool mountain air at night (not refrigerated air from an air conditioner). Prices include 4.16% Hawaii State General Excise Tax, and 9.25% Local Accommodations Tax. Hawaii Business Licence W(PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)

The SpaceIf you are traveling with family or friends be sure to also check out our other cottages. which are similar to this one and located on the same property. Our cottages are located at a 2000 ft elevation which means nice cool nights (it can get as cool as 68 degrees) you won't have to sweat all night like you might lower down by the water- however the beach is just 15 minutes away. It is quiet here, not far from town and the artist village of Holualoa but we are on 5 acres in the country where you can avoid civilization easily if you so desire. The cottage is a very tiny studio (400 sq ft). The high vaulted ceilings make it feel perhaps a little more spacious. Mild climate allows for lots of outdoor living. Our space is unique because it is not a hotel room; you are staying in an actual home of locals. If you are expecting a resort, you should probably book one- this is a home. My husband also owns a charter fishing boat, great for snorkel cruises and deep sea sports fishing. On the property is a modest dance studio and art studio with a resident artist/dance teacher in tribal and oriental style dance. Stephanie Bolton teaches dance and art to both adults and children regularly in the Kona community. Our family is happy to welcome yours as Ohana (family) and share the fun island beauty with you. My husband and I love to cook and share the unique specialties of the island with guests if you are interested in trying local fruits and sea cuisine. My husband dives for lobsters and often has delicious fish. His family also owns one of the largest Kona coffee farms on the island that has repeatedly won first place in the annual Kona coffee competitions held in November. We are happy to be of service- our home is also on the property, helping you find what you are looking for… or we can stay out of your way and give you plenty privacy (it is really up to you- we are easy to find if you need us and we disappear if you don't). ;-) Most of the homes in our neighborhood are farms and so they are very spread out. This is the Kona coffee country. You will want to rent a car- some people bike around here but the road is not very safe, in my opinion, because there is not a descent shoulder and it is very windy up and down the hill. There is a bus that goes around the island but the public transportation is not frequent enough to depend on. I highly recommend having your own vehicle. My husband and I grew up on this island and we know quite a lot of the people who live here- doctors, massage therapists, chiropractors, yoga teachers, scuba instructors, any style of dance you like, hunting, fishing, archery, etc. We can help you find the activities to best accommodate your interests even before you arrive. We are happy to help you plan your trip so that you have the best experience possible while you are staying on our island. Guest AccessOur space is unique because we are very family-friendly. The SpaceOne mile south of Kailua-Kona on Alii Drive, Alii Villas is a beautiful oceanfront complex with tropical landscaping, a large freshwater pool, and a patio area perfect for barbecuing or sunbathing. Black-and-white spinner dolphins and green sea turtles are frequent visitors to the bay just north of the complex, and bright reef fish school in the little coves and beaches nearby. A short, pretty drive south leads to the best surfing, snorkeling, and diving areas in the Hawaiian islands; a trip north through 19th century lava flows takes you to dozens of peaceful white-sand beaches lined with palm and kiawe trees. Inland—a longer drive, but well worth the trip—is Kilauea, the Big Island’s active volcano, and the weird extraterrestrial landscape of Volcanoes National Park. To see the whole beautiful island and travel easily from one great beach to another, we recommend you rent a car at the airport. The SpaceThis is a non-smoking, pretty healthy household, carved out during my 25 years on the Big Island. Little meat other than fish cooked here….but you may if you are of that bent. After all, you’ll be doing your own cooking of your own food in your own efficiency kitchen in your own studio…with your own view from a small lanai! On the side of my house that's opposite the guest ohana, house construction is happening....the grand symphony of saws and pounding usually begins around 7 a.m….til 3:30 or 4 p.m; once in a great while Saturdays are included. So it’s loosely-designated as quiet time around here from about 10 p.m. until 6:45 a.m. If you come in late, you might need to sleep like a rock! But most noise is far enough from my place that guests tell me they barely noticed. Being situated at the bottom of a former cul-de-sac, now a "loop", there is ample on street parking...historically safe. Guest AccessSnorkel gear is available, if it fits you. Two beach chairs, a beach bag, cooler, thermal sandwich keeper, and water jug are yours to use. Plus oodles of sunscreen that guests leave. There are a few boogie boards...some have seen better days in smaller waves. Plenty of towels that have had many trips to the beach can be used on your own excursions. You have access to the laundry room; sun dry (no dryer). Interaction with GuestsIf you'd like to join me on my lanai in the evening to talk story (over a beverage?), that might be possible...if I am not out playing! If you want to go out to play together at the beach or some other place, ok....if I'm available. Or if you want to remain autonomous, that's cool, too. I can answer questions about the island and point you here and there...or somewhere else! You get to witness the fraidy-cat scamper away while the other one awaits pets...or not. Maybe you'll even glimpse the neutered hobo alley cat who has remained aloof at best since his malehood was robbed....but his stomach remembers where the food dish is located. The NeighborhoodQuiet neighborhood at 1150' elevation where the cooler air is our friend at night. Getting AroundRental car recommended...unless you are an avid bicyclist. Avid. Really avid. Other Things to Note$45 cleaning fee.

Something is always ready to be harvested; oranges, tangerines, limes, figs, avocados, mangoes, papaya, banana, passion, and more! The NeighborhoodIn the morning, enjoy ocean views with fresh Kona coffee in the gazebo. In the evening, take in the gorgeous sunsets on the expansive lanai. Our property is conveniently located in Holualoa, a quaint artist's village in the heart of Kona coffee country, yet is just a short 5 minute drive to historic Kailua-Kona with its famous beaches, restaurants and shopping. Walking through the paths of exotic varieties of fruit and flowering trees, dozens of flower varieties at the Garden House brought us back to the many places we have visited around the world. The previous owner cultivated these gardens for the last 30 years, and we are blessed to be the new owners of this property. The SpaceLarge ocean view home private suite with own entrance above the airport, pool & hot tub. The location is perfect, close access to airport, beaches and popular sites while escaping touristville of downtown Kona (7 mil away). We aren't just saying this because it's our home but if we were visiting the Big Island the location and amenities of our home would be exactly what we would look for, there is just everything you need and more plus a wonderful location. You won't be disappointed. The reason we have opened up our house to guest is we believe if we were traveling somewhere our house would be a great fit and a place we would want to stay. Amenities of a resort: hot tub, pool, private cabana, bbq, gourmet kitchen while having the privacy of your own room and entrance without the craziness of hundreds of families around you and packed restaurants. The location of our home is great because often times people want to stay in "downtown Kona" but you will find that actually you won't spend much time there, it's cute and fun to see and only 7 miles away but it's one of the many places to see on the Big Island. Seven miles to downtown Kona is a quick drive, but even better we are closer to all the beaches. In fact some of the worlds best are located less than 10 minutes from the house. A lot of visiting on Big Island consist of traveling all over the island. Our location is key to that option, very close to beach access points, as well as the main roads that get you to and around the amazing Big Island. You will have your own 32" TV in your bedroom with cable options, free wifi, private bathroom and ocean view, sitting area, coffee pot, and clothes storage as well as access to gourmet kitchen, bbq, private pool and hot tub. We have found that our guest like to go to Costco which is very close to the house to stock up on snacks and food to prep for meals. We leave the amount of interaction up to our guest. We are happy to chat and discuss options around the island, or to give them own private space and let them do their own thing. We have ended up with some of our guest doing a BBQ and Cocktails by pool and hot tub into the late night with some great music playing. While some check-in and do their own thing their entire trip. Either is fine with us. We want our guest to feel comfortable and do our best to give them what they desire. This neighborhood has great ocean views, large home with great private layout. Our guest will often go for walks around neighborhood just soaking in the great views. The Big Island is huge really there is no other option than to Rent a Car on this island, because it is the only real option sometimes the island books up with cars, we do have extra car so if we need to we can discuss option to rent out a vehicle with your stay. Guest AccessYou will have full access to the amazing backyard with pool, hot tub, bbq, inside wonderful kitchen with all the tools you need to make a wonderful dinner. Mix the back yard and a great meal and you will be in true hawaii bliss. Interaction with GuestsWe are laid back and leave the amount of interaction in the total control of our houseguest. We are totally okay with just being a place for you to crash or we love as well meeting wonderful people from all over the world and staying up at night having a glass of wine together. We go with whatever our guest desire. The NeighborhoodThe location of this neighborhood is amazing. You are just 7 miles to "downtown kona" but better yet your are 3 miles from the airport, close to best food shopping resources, there is a local market 2 miles away and Costco is 3 miles away. All the wonderful beaches of the big island are nearby. One of the top beaches in the world located just 10 minutes away - we love to visit Kua Bay! Getting AroundYou will need to rent a car. This island is indeed BIG and we don't have a suitable public transportation as everything is too spread out. We do rent our cars out if you are interested when booking we can do a complete package and pick you up from the airport too. Just mention it in your request. Other Things to NoteGavin is the boss of the house :) he's the adorable chi-weenie! He is super friendly and has the true laid back aloha spirit. You can catch him in the back yard getting his tan on! He loves his sunshine.

Although I have not heard roosters recently. Additionally it gets cool in the evening in the winter because we are on the slope of a mountain at 1200 feet in the Kona Coffee Belt. There are also two ground level ohanas (apartments); both with one bedroom and fully stocked. These can be rented with the upstairs for larger family gatherings. Please contact us for details. This home is almost 1500 square feet of spacious inside living with a 500+ square foot lanai. It is just a few blocks from world class snorkeling, boogie boarding, surfing, and swimming and is located in the White Sands Beach area off of Ali'i Drive. It has a private entrance and designated off street parking, a master suite with a king bed, second bedroom has a queen, and there are two twins (which can make into a king) in third bedroom, and there are two full baths. It has a fully equipped kitchen, cable TV with HBO, window air conditioner, as well as BBQ, snorkel gear, boogie boards, and ceiling fans in bedrooms, as well as common area. We are located a 1/2 block off of Ali'i Drive, so there is some road noise, as well as the sound of the waves during high surf. We also ask our upstairs guests to walk quietly, especially between the hours of 10 pm and 7 am, out of consideration of our downstairs guests. Sound does carry from upstairs to downstair's, so we are not a good fit for people who like to party or are night owls. The lanai has a partial ocean view, with nice ocean breezes. We love the Big Island and hope you come to love it as much as we do. Guest AccessAmenities provided include: A/C Free high speed internet via Wi-Fi Cable TV with HBO Fully equipped kitchen-Fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, rice cooker and much more All linens provided Beach towels Beach Chairs Boogie Boards Snorkel Gear Gas BBQ Washer/Dryer Iron/Ironing board on request We also have a pack and play, as well as a highchair for guests with small children. Hawaii transient and General Excise tax of 13.5% will be paid by check or money order and mailed no later than 30 days prior to scheduled arrival. The NeighborhoodWe are located off of Ali'i Drive on the corner of a cul-de-sac in a quiet residential neighborhood with easy access to local beaches and sightseeing. The SpaceAloha! I'm so happy you are planning on visiting Kailua-Kona! This area has so much to offer! My home is located about one mile South of the Kailua-Kona village area, and 8 miles from the airport. We are 2 miles from the famous "Iron Man" finish line! This location is fabulous and really everything is a very 'doable' from here without long drives. A day trip heading to the north is about 40-80 miles depending on your route, Volcano National Park is 90 miles South. To the east-side, (Hilo) it is a 2 hour drive. My complex has 2 pools, 2 hot tubs and is well maintained and nicely landscaped. The Aloha Room is a medium size bedroom with a queen bed, in a 3 bedroom, 2 bath ground floor condo. It is very clean, and bright. The room is painted white, and is comfortable with hard wood flooring. This is my personnel bedroom most of the the time, but I have options to stay elsewhere so I have added this room to my listings. The only baby negative, is there is no closet space. I have luggage racks, a bench seat and a chair and you can hang items on the back of the door, as well as some cubby units for storing food or whatever! There are ceiling fans in the bedroom and living room. I have an extra fridge on the patio and usually room in the kitchen for items that need refrigeration. You will share a bathroom with who ever is staying in the "Dolphin Room", and "we" keep it very clean. There may not be room for extra towels and toiletries in the bathroom so they need to come in and out with you, hair styling needs to be in your room as well. There is a great mirror! Also, I may need access once in a while, but would always ask first. (to grab some clothes or whatever) I have a large patio with a gas grill and it is quite private. You have limited kitchen access for light meal preparation. I am very easy to talk with and I have all that one usually needs, like beach mats, coolers, boogie boards, beach towels, etc. There is beach access about 3 minutes away walking. Swim beach is 2 miles away. The VERY limited bus service stops right in front of my complex too. I consider you a temporary roommate! I have 2 other rooms on this site and at times all rooms are booked. It works out great and folks enjoy hearing about others adventures and experiences. I am metaphysical in nature, love being around like minded people. My passions are dancing, swimming with the wild Dolphins and cooking. Not a lot of "rules" here except to clean up well after yourself so the tiny ants don't come for a feeding, be considerate and no cigarette or cigar smoking please close to my place. (vapor cigarettes are fine) I have a washer/dryer and we line dry when possible. You can use the dryer if absolutely necessary, but it is a $3. charge. Power is very expensive here, so be aware please, fans off while away and lights off please. I'm happy to point you in the "right" direction for affordable grocery shopping, points of interest and places to eat and dance! I have no TV! I do have WiFi. Please use headphones when possible. The patio is shared with guests. By the way you REALLY need a car here! After you book, and we can exchange websites and contact info I can turn you on to some good affordable rental companies. Otherwise it's taxis and tour companies. I have a referral to a gentleman who can private tour you and customize your adventure. Ask about that if you are interested. I look forward to sharing "Aloha" with you. In Joy! Cecily Guest AccessPools, hot tub, patio, gas grill, living room, and kitchen. There is plenty of parking. (No back in parking is allowed) Interaction with GuestsI'm known for my enthusiastic opinions on what and where to go and or see, where to eat, where not to eat, ways to save money, etc. while on the Big island! I'm not attached you following my advise, suggestions or accepting offers to join me in adventures, but if you ask for my opinion, (and maybe if you dont) I will happily guide you if I am here! I travel occasionally (maybe 3 weeks out of the year) but I will always make sure you have contact with my helper! The NeighborhoodMy complex is a fabulous location! A beautiful beach to sit and just be, sunset and aloha, but not a swim beach. There are a couple of beaches to swim with in a couple of miles. We are one mile from the oceanfront village which boasts great restaurants, art galleries, farmers market and shopping for those must have items! I'm just a couple of hours from almost anything on the island. It's fairly quiet here, no roosters, or frogs, but you will hear birds and the usual "life" noises, and slight traffic occasionally. Most people start the day early as the sun is best before noon, after that it can cloud up a bit, which is often refreshing! Getting AroundIf you can drive you need a car!!!! there is very limited public transportation, but a bus that goes into town about once an hour (7:00am to 8:00 pm ish) and stops in front of my place. I have a dear friend who is an activities concierge and when you book with me I will give you her information, as she is great at making reservations and coordinating your activities, also at no additional cost compared to booking directly! Additionally I will give you the name of a great website that will save you a bundle on car rental, and provide insurance for non US residents at NO EXTRA charge! Other Things to NoteI am LGBT friendly!
