The Space**OUR BRICK BEAUTY**
This modern 1950's home has an unbeatable good vibe. The clean, cozy, and spacious apartment will beat stuffy, cramped hotels any day; with an "at home" feel and endless amenities, you're sure to enjoy Boise in a space all your own.
There are 2 full-size bedrooms with walk-in closets. Bedroom one has a queen size bed that can accommodate up to 2 guests and the 2nd has a queen size Aerobed. Both rooms have ample natural light, plenty of storage for longer stays, sheets, pillows, and everything you need to make this your home away from home.
**ART** Guest Access**CHECK IN**
Guests may check in anytime after 3PM. The private guest entrance is on the East side of the house, just beyond a white picket fence. Guests will be given a keyless code (no key needed!). Guests will walk down one flight of stairs to a large mud/laundry room. We ask that guests leave their shoes in the mud room to keep the space tidy. There will be another door (mustard yellow with a navy "hello" sign) to the apartment to increase privacy. You do not need to arrange for a check-in with us as you can enter and exit the space on your own (24 hr check-in). If you need us to acquaint you to the space, we are always available to do give you the tour. Occasionally, you might run in to one of us changing over laundry in the mud room, but this is only true in emergency situations and when guests have longer stays. Interaction with Guests**HELLO FRIEND**
We're here if you need us and are always available to help with whatever you need - just a text or phone call away. You might see us coming and going, get a lick from one of our dogs out in the yard, get harassed by our goats who want you to come pet or feed them, or cross paths somehow.
We will never enter your private space unless you request us to, during light housekeeping, or in case of emergencies. The Neighborhood**THE BENCH**
The Boise bench is an up coming cultural mecca with some of the best hidden gems in Boise (see guest manual). Located within just a few minutes from downtown, there is space to explore. This neighborhoods near Morris Hill Cemetery and the park at Roosevelt & Alpine offers plenty of space to explore. Some of the streets in this area—Alpine and Roosevelt in particular—offer lovely views of the Boise Foothills and park. The side streets between Alpine and Emerald off of Roosevelt are charming. This is a quiet little niche neighborhood with friendly neighbors and affordable homes. Pet lovers will particularly love the easy access to the dog park at Alpine & Roosevelt—the park is nearly always busy and is quite the friendly, community hub.
For those of you that want something different, Meridian (10 mins), Eagle (15 mins), Garden City (10 mins), Caldwell (30 mins), and Nampa (20 mins) are just moments away.
We listed our favorite shops, restaurants, and venues in our guest manual. Getting Around**MOVE + SHAKE**
While biking the Boise Greenbelt is the preferred mode of transportation for most locals. Boise is a relatively easy city to navigate on your own. Other modes of transportation includ walking, taxis, bus, and/or an uber.
We recommend getting an uber app as a trip from our house to downtown is about $4.50 - $6.00. Parking in Boise is FREE on the weekends. We prefer bikes and if you'd like, there are a variety or rental shops and we have a secure space to store bikes.
Need a bike for a day? Let us know, Ben builds them as a hobby and we have plenty. Like way too many.
Need a ride to or from the airport? Just let us know and if we can help you out, we will. Other Things to Note**VERY IMPORTANT**
We do have 3 dogs that will greet you, please do not book this space if you are a.) afraid of or don't like dogs; or b.) if you are hyper sensitive to apartment style noise.
During the winter months, our dogs are indoors more often. During the day, they are rather sedentary, and during the late afternoon, they like to run around outside or play. You WILL hear them from time to time. We have provided high quality fans - we highly recommend you turn them on as it will keep your space quiet.
Again, something to be very aware of is that we have 3 (yes THREE) dogs and two goats. While the dogs (and goats) are not allowed and do not have access to our guest area, they will welcome visitors with lots and lots of tail wiggles and barks. Do not be alarmed, they will let us know you are here, they are friendly and love visitors. You can say, "hi, we're your new friends" and walk right by them. Basic commands are, "no!" "back up" and "stay." We will make arrangements to not have them out if you tell us your arrival time. Their names are Meena (boxer), Porter (Lab), and Charlie (Retriever). Ironically, the retriever doesn't play catch.
Our dogs and goats (while family members), are still animals. We are very responsible pet owners and even though they are 95% well behaved, we need you to let us know if anything is making you uncomfortable. We never take feedback or concerns personally and are completely open to making a change or accommodation for you. We wouldn't want to stay in a place that didn't respect our time, space, and energy, so we would never want our guests to experience this.
If you do not like dogs or have a difficult time with any type of noise, then this space may not be a good fit for you (don't chance it). Otherwise, be prepared to have five new best friends.
On another note - this is a 70 year old home that has been remodeled, however it still creeks. We can not make this house completely silent with all of the character of the original hardwood, and while we are fairly quiet, you will experience some basic "apartment style" noise. We have provided a high quality fan to help minimize any potential noise (please use it). If you ever feel like there is too much noise, don't be shy and just text us and let us know; we will always do our best to make your stay comfortable and peaceful.
Additionally, this space does NOT have a full kitchen, however it does have a kuerig, fridge/freezer, electric kettle, microwave, dishes/bowls/cutlery/cutting board, sink, laundry etc. Extra dishes, cups, silverware, wine glasses and serving bowls are always available if needed.
We have a hot tub (it's set to 104). You are always more than welcome to enjoy the hot tub during any season. Please bring a suit (ain't nobody want to see you naked), and follow spa rules listed in the guest manual.
