Information about painting classes and artist's retreats are on our website at (URL HIDDEN) Interaction with GuestsI like to have a selection of teas and a snack ready for you when you arrive. Upon arrival and departure I am available to meet with you. We can also arrange to have the key in a mailbasket if you're arriving after 10:00 p.m. The NeighborhoodWe are in the Sesquicentennial Neighborhood with the brick streets and big Oak trees, two blocks from our thriving downtown. You can walk through the beautiful old West Side Park with the magnificent "Prayer for Rain" fountain, beautiful gardens and many sculptures, to get to the great cafe's and restaurants. Getting AroundWalking to downtown two blocks away is delightful. We have a very efficient bus system that can be accessed 1-2 blocks away that is great for going to Campus, which is about a mile away. Other Things to NoteSpring 2015 we panted 60 roses and 70 evergreen shrubs in the front and back gardens. It smells and looks beautiful. January 2016 we added a new four burner gas stove and 10cu ft. full upright refrigerator/freezer to the charming Butler's Pantry kitchen.
In response to a great suggestion from a guest, we added an elegant three panel door on the bathroom in 2015.
I host weekend or week long Artists Retreats here at the White Dove Garden and Gallery that can include painting lessons in the studio and/or Plein Air painting excursions to the University of Illinois Master Gardener Idea Garden, Arboretum and Hosta Garden and Japan House, historical West Side Park and Lake of the Woods, as well as some private gardens.
