The SpaceThis 100 year old historic home is the original farmstead for the area and at one time was surrounded by orchards and horse farms. Now it is in the heart of suburbia but still has a country feel.
I am a die hard recycler & upcycler & love reusing and repurposing all kinds of things for my house and yard. One of my favorite pastimes is searching out just the right piece of unique furniture or item from flea markets, thrift stores resale shops and garage sales. I like my spaces to be eclectic, charming and reflect something of my personality. This is a one of a kind apartment for your enjoyment. It accommodates 1-4 guests. Guest AccessThe mud room, entire upstairs apartment, & back yard. Interaction with GuestsSince I live downstairs, I follow a system of mutual respect and ask for quiet hours from 10:00pm to 10:00am, and emergencies only after 10:00pm. I will respect your privacy but I am available 24 hours a day by phone, text or email, and of course I will be right below you. We may run into each other in the yard, and the stairway and I am always available to chat if you so desire. I share my home with a couple cats but they are not allowed in the apartment and you need not encounter them, except on the back screened porch. They are indoor only so "Don't Let The Cat Out No Matter What She Tells You! The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is well established with a mix of family homes in a variety of styles and ages. Getting AroundShopping, banking, entertainment and many restaurants are only a couple of blocks away, 1 ½ miles to I 88 & I 355, 1 mile to the Metra Burlington Northern if you are going to downtown Chicago, one mile to Midwestern University, ½ mile to Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital. Mapquest says my house is about a 24 mile drive from downtown Chicago, but as in any city, the time it takes depends on traffic. Light traffic may take only 30 minutes but heavy traffic may take an hour and on festival days maybe longer. Other Things to NoteThis apartment accommodates 4 guests. If more than 4 people stay any night there is an extra cost of $15.00 per person, per night.
