The SpaceWe have a room available for a single person or couple. We also have a finished basement with couches that could fit more people. Lots of room in the house to cook or relax in the entertainment room in the basement. Lovely back porch swing with a nice view of the farm. Fresh eggs daily from our chickens and vegetables from our hoop house. Close to campus on the east side, but far enough away from campus for a quiet retreat. Lake Lemon and Lake Griffy a short drive away. We don't have a pool, but we hope to have a pond next spring. We work at home and outside the home, so our schedules can fluctuate. We can give you some tips about getting around Bloomington and interesting places to go, even if we can't join you. There is a bus stop two miles from the house, which is bikeable during the day.

The SpaceThis is a bright and airy space with new furnishings and an open floor plan. One bedroom has a queen and one has two twin beds. The kitchen is furnished with pots and pans for any kind of cooking you want to do. Parking is just outside the front door and if you'd like access to bicycles, just let us know. You're renting the entire condo so use whatever you like. We live half a block away, one of us will meet you at check-in to make sure that you have everything you need or we can arrange to leave keys for you, but we're very accessible if you need anything. We won't impinge on your privacy, but we are happy to help with anything you need. Jeff has owned restaurants in town for more than 30 years and knows the dining and entertainment scene well. Nana is a fairly recent transplant from Shanxi China and can be available should you need transportation, housekeeping or cooking. She's a pretty amazing Chinese cook. If you need anything like this, let her know and she can discuss a price. Located in Prospect Hill, we think this is Bloomington's best neighborhood, an easy walk to everything. The Bloomington Convention Center is a two minute walk from your front door. A nice Kroger grocery and dozens of bars and restaurants are just a quick walk. The Wonderlab children's museum is 3 blocks away. We're close to everything but also on a very quiet tree lined street, very safe too. Our home is a half-block away and we rarely lock our front door. If you're doing downtown or university business you can easily get by without a car. Shuttles run regularly from Indianapolis airport for about $30 per person each way or you can arrange a taxi from a Bloomington taxi service for about $70 + tip. Either way, plan to set this up in advance. We can advise. The city bus terminal is about a 5 minute walk and you can walk to the center of the IU Campus in about 15 minutes, less by bike of course, and we're happy to arrange bikes for you if you let us know in advance. Flat screen Internet TV, high-speed internet. We keep the house stocked with the the local visitors guides, maps and other literature to make sure that you know about all the fun things there are to do in Bloomington. The SpaceThe room-which is the nicest one in the house- has a queen sized bed, couch, Wi-fi, TV with no cable but has a Roku box with Netflix, desk and folding table. There is a local calls only phone in the room as well. You can arrange the furniture whatever way you like! There is also a large closet. The bed has down comforter and pillows although a regular quilt, down free pillows and blankets are available. All bed linens are 100% cotton. Sheets and towels are dried outside in the sun on the clothesline whenever as possible. The room has hardwood floors with no carpet and the acoustics are wonderful. The couch is large enough and comfortable enough to sleep on in case you need space for a third person or prefer not to share the bed with your companion. There is a private ½ bath there. The main bathroom downstairs (not part of a master suite) has an extra long claw foot tub and a 5 ft square walk- in shower with water jets and grab bars on the walls. This bath is shared. I have 2 friendly cats if you'd like some purr therapy. Musicians-especially folk and classical- and artists are quite welcome- in addition to everybody else! There is room enough for rehearsal space for unamplified music. The acoustics are wonderful! 11p.m is noise curfew time all over Bloomington. I’m also LGBT friendly and welcoming. Folks of all nationalities and ethnic backgrounds are welcome. Guest AccessYou are welcome to use the kitchen as long as you clean up after yourself. It is a well appointed enormous kitchen designed and owned by a cooking enthusiast. Washer and drier and clothesline are available. There can be space in the second fridge for you. There is coffee (real fresh ground) and tea available to you along with honey, ½ n ½ etc. There is a large dining room table in the kitchen that you may use to spread out your work if you care to use it. You will come in through the back door of the house and cross the kitchen to get to the upstairs. I sleep in the front of the house so you probably wouldn’t disturb me. You can park on the side street by my house or frequently in my driveway in the back. Interaction with GuestsI am a potter who works at home in a separate studio out in back of the house. I am home much of the time but frequently not in the house. We can interact as much or a little as you like. Of course I will greet you and give you the tour upon your arrival! The NeighborhoodI live on 1/6 acre 4 blocks from downtown Bloomington. There is a large church on one side and an old house that has 2 apartments on the other side. Since I heat with wood in addition to furnaces and have a moderate sized garden it is easy to pretend that I live in the country! It is a pleasant quiet neighborhood of older homes and apartments. It’s just 4 blocks from downtown, 1 mile from the western edge of campus and 3 blocks from the B-line walking/biking trail. I am 1 block from a bus line. I am 6-7 easy blocks from the Convention Center which is also the pick up/drop off point for the Airport Shuttle. There is a wonderful food co-op with restaurant 2 blocks away and other restaurants, bars, groceries, and performance venues very close by as well. Saturday mornings much of the year there is a fabulous farmers market just 3 blocks from here. Getting AroundThe house is 1 block from the city bus line, 4 blocks from the town square, 1 mile from campus, 6-7 easy blocks from the Convention Center which is also the airport Shuttle pick-up/drop off place, and 3 blocks from the taxi stand. Other Things to NoteVERY IMPORTANT!! I am very sensitive to perfumes, colognes, aftershaves, scented deodorants, fragrances most scents so PLEASE refrain from wearing, spraying or using them while you are here!

The SpaceI live w/ a roomie and on some days we are not home much at all, and some days we are. We can connect w/ you and make sure you have the space / company that you desire for your trip. My roomie has 2 kids who are 6 and 8 years old, and they stay w/ us some days of the week. I will always be up-front about whether the kids will be at the house or not during your stay. The house is 5 min from Monroe Lake and lots of great hiking trails. We have Wi-fi, a large, flat screen TV w/ Netflix and Apple TV, a DVD player, and a gas fireplace all open to you. No smoking in the house. This room has a new floor, and a memory foam mattress on a wood frame. 2 windows let in southern / western light. Upstairs, there is a small room with a futon that could be used for extra people / kids. The steps are kind of steep (see picture) - not quite a ladder style but almost - so not ideal for small children unless supervised by an adult. 1 full bath and a 1/2 bath. Our kitchen is your kitchen - feel free to buy food and put it in the frig, and cook if you want. I am also happy to provide a lite breakfast for you on your first day free of charge if you let me know what sort of things you like. The house was originally built in the 1800s, with a couple of additions later. There's hardwood in the bedrooms and living room, and tile in the kitchen and dining area - no carpet. We have 4 cats and 1 dog, so if you have allergies, not a good fit. We Roomba a lot but there always still seems to be some renegade fur! We have a nice back patio and a fire pit if you want to roast hot dogs or marshmallows. Interaction with GuestsI've lived here for 13 years, so I know Bloomington well. I can recommend nature trails, cultural events, and great restaurants and shops! Happy to help / hang out as I can, but also happy to give you space. The NeighborhoodHarrodsburg is a small town - super quiet, and in my 6 years here have never had a problem with the neighbors or any sort of theft or anything. It's abt 10 min to the closest grocery store (Kroger) and abt 20 min to downtown Bloomington. There is a gas station/ convenience store right down the street. Getting AroundNo bus comes here tho, so you would need a car.

The SpaceEnjoy Bloomington and get a fantastic basement apartment all to yourself! This private apartment is a recent addition to my house, located in older suburban neighborhood with big beautiful trees! (Please note that since it is downstairs, you can sometimes hear the creaking of furniture, footsteps or faint voices from above. Also, I have 2 cats and a dog. They never go into the basement apartment, as the spaces are totally separate.) It is within walking or biking distance to campus, Kirkwood (the fun, trendy street with great shopping and restaurants), and Bryan Park (complete with lots of green space, and a big fancy pool). You can park in my driveway, and you are about a 5 minute walk from catching the Bloomington Transit anywhere you need to go. There is a common entry in the "mud room." You'll then head down a short flight of stairs to get to your apartment. The apartment has a very comfy Queen sized bed that can sleep two. There is a large walk-in closet, and also a smaller one. You'll have access to your own personal washer and dryer, and you're also welcome to borrow a bike. Feel free to hop onto my wireless internet. You can prepare all of your meals in your own kitchen! It comes complete with microwave, stove, pots, pans, dishes, and everything else you will need to cook with. There is a small dining table and a desk to do work on. Heck, there is even a dart board! You'll stay in a clean, colorful house with a gracious host who lives right upstairs, and who can direct you to all of the fun things Bloomington has to offer. Guest AccessYou will have access to a personal kitchen, bathroom, washing machine and dryer, and bedroom. You also have access to my wifi. Interaction with GuestsI always make every effort to meet guests to check them in on the first day of the stay. If check-in is very late, or I simply cannot get away from work to let you in, I will leave the key in a secure location for you to access when you arrive. The space is private, and guests may only ever see me if they happen to be exiting through the mud room at the same time as me. I like to respect people's privacy, so I won't be knocking on your doors unbidden, and will not be in your space as you occupy it unless there is an emergency, or you ask me to. However, I live right upstairs, and I am happy to respond to any questions or concerns as soon as I am able. Because I work long hours, the best method of contact is to text or call my cell phone. I will respond as soon as I am able, and always within a few hours. Other Things to NoteThe television is attached to a DVD player, and there is a small selection of DVD's to choose from. There is a Kroger with a Redbox where you can rent additional DVD's, within a 5 minute drive from the house. The television does not have cable access. Because the apartment is in the basement, and some sounds might travel into the apartment, I have provided a "white noise machine" in the bedroom that you can turn on if need be to help you sleep. If you use the stove, please make sure the range vent is on- the fire alarm is very sensitive, and can go off with routine cooking unless you have the vent on. On check-out, please slide the key through the mail slot on the front door (on Henderson Street), so that the key is secure inside of the home.

We offer two additional bedrooms for extra guests with a double bed in each room. Guest AccessThe guest suite has a bedroom with a queen sized bed and walk-in closet. The two extra bedrooms for additional guests are located at the other side of the house and come with full beds and access to a separate full bathroom. Note: We don't have wifi or internet. Interaction with GuestsWe have 2 IU graduate daughters so don't hesitate to ask any questions about IU or Bloomington. We live here, so we will likely be on the opposite side of the house from the private guest suite. Extra guest rooms are located down a hallway from our bedroom. The NeighborhoodVery private and tree covered neighborhood with duck pond at entrance. Getting AroundOur house is a 15-20 minute drive to IU campus. 15 minutes to Bloomington west side shopping and dining. There is a grocery, drug store, and some restaurants about 1 mile away. The SpaceThis space used to be the main dining room of a French café, still located downstairs, that has been in operation since 1979. After buying the auto bodyshop next door in the 80's and converting it into the current main dining room, the owners used the upstairs dining room for storage. The space has since been partitioned into a generous bedroom, a cozy office room, and a bathroom. There is no kitchen but you have your own microwave oven, mini-fridge and coffee maker. Other amenities such as iron and ironing-board are available upon demand. If you are staying longer than 3 days I'll be happy to do your laundry. To get a better sense of the space, explore a (patchy) 360-degree photo of all three rooms here: bit(period)ly/1HcPZ7d Guest AccessIn addition to the private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, and office, guests will have access to the spacious rooftop deck, currently under renovation. Interaction with GuestsYour hosts are the owners of the restaurant-- an elderly French couple who spend their waking hours keeping the family business afloat. When they are not in the back cooking food or washing dishes, they are in the front taking orders and tending to customers. Guests are welcome downstairs any time! In addition, the owners are happy to prepare guests a complimentary breakfast the mornings of their stay. Just be sure to specify any dietary restrictions. The NeighborhoodThis Airbnb is located in the heart of downtown Bloomington, a block away from the square. It is within a 5-minute walk to most downtown destinations and is next door to Bloomingfoods, a local grocery market & deli co-op. It is flanked by the B-line, a rails-to-trails project peppered with joggers, strollers, and cyclists. If your stay is within April-November, you can enjoy the Bloomington farmers' market only two blocks away every Saturday morning. Getting AroundBoth Indianapolis airport shuttle companies have stops within a five-minute walk to the Airbnb. If you cozy up to the shuttle driver, they might even drop you off in front! For guests traveling by car, there is a private parking spot near the entrance. Other Things to NoteThere is WiFi, but the connection is very spotty, unfortunately. Sleeping arrangements are versatile. They include: 1. A permanent bed with full mattress (seen in photo) 2. One twin mattress that lives under the full bed (however, it would need to be placed on the floor) 3. A permanent couch with pull-out full mattress, which is not very comfortable at all. 4. A queen inflatable mattress (20in height) that can be readied upon request. The main sleeping surface is the full-sized mattress seen in the photo, which sleeps two. Additional guests have the option of either sleeping on a twin mattress (comfortable, but on the floor), an inflatable queen mattress (also comfortable, but on the floor), or on the pull-out couch (not comfortable, but off the floor). Depending on your background, this may qualify as "roughing it" ;) So just to be clear, while it's true that the space can technically accommodate four guests, this set up would be intended more for four intimate friends or parents with a couple kids. It would be an all-out sprawl, complete with two mattresses on the floor, an uncomfortable pull-out couch, and of course, the main full-sized bed seen in the photo.

Getting AroundCampus and Bloomington bus stop in a half block. Taxis are available and the Zip Car pickup is a block away. Designated parking spot literally 10 steps from the front door of the unit. Other Things to NoteOwner has a Mason & Hamlin Grand Piano upstairs for music school audition practices and warm ups. Bowman House is a licensed B&B with Monroe County and the State of Indiana and as such we are required to collect a 5% Innkeeper's tax and 7% IN Sales tax upon check-in by cash or check. The SpaceMy house has a lovely view out of the large main room. I have a big yard. I am a 5 minute drive to both campus and to an extensive shopping area that includes a mall, many restaurants, 2 large groceries, a wonderful health food store, etc. I am a short walk from the YMCA. Lucky's, a delightful natural and organic grocery, recently opened at a site a 3 minute drive from my house. Guest Access On the first floor is a well appointed kitchen, a full bathroom, a bedroom with a full size bed and a large living/dining room. On the second floor is the master bedroom, with a queen size bed and a second bedroom, with a full size bed, with an attached full bathroom between the two bedrooms. Interaction with GuestsI will be home to welcome my guests and give them a tour of the house. Once I depart, guests will have the entire house to themselves. The NeighborhoodI live in a lovely upper middle class neighborhood full of trees and gardens. Getting AroundThere are 2 bus lines a short walking distance from my house. Bloomington is a small town, so taxi fares are not high. Other Things to NoteMy driveway is steep so following a snow storm it can be impassable. There are stairs with a handrail leading from the sidewalk to my front door. The reason I keep my listing inactive during the winter months, is due my concern that guests may not be able to drive up my driveway if there's been a snow storm. Because my driveway is steep, if your vehicle has a low under carriage, be cautious when driving up to my house.

We can always recommend many interesting places to see, trails, landmarks, cultural events and other natural beauties in Bloomington. The NeighborhoodOne of the older neighborhoods in Bloomington with many mature trees and very quiet. The neighborhood is also a very dog friendly community. It is also located within walking distance to the University elementary school and is a short drive to the east side College Mall, Co-Op Bloomingfoods East, and shopping areas. Getting AroundWe are on a bus line - 2 minute walk from the house to the bus on 10th street and on Smith road. Once you get on a bus, it will take about 5 minutes to get to campus, 5 minutes to the College Mall and 10 minutes to downtown. For the bus route map and schedule, go to Bloomington Transit. Other Things to NoteWe have one dog, Sydney who is very friendly and sweet. She usually does not come downstairs to where guests are staying, but she does love attention and belly rubs.

The SpaceThis private suite is casual and cozy, with original hardwood floors and comfortable furnishings. The bedroom includes a queen bed and features a writing desk, tall window that opens to the summer flower garden, and access to the private bathroom. The sitting room features comfortable seating, a flat screen tv and gas fireplace for cool evenings. The private entrance porch includes a mini fridge, microwave, and coffeemaker. Outdoors, end your day sitting by the firepit listening to the sounds of the forest, or begin your day with coffee and muffins in the flower garden. Watch the birdfeeders from a rocker on the front porch or hike in the woods or the quiet neighboring country road. Only a beautiful seven minutes' drive to west side shopping, dining and entertainment. Guest AccessGuests have a private entrance, bedroom, bathroom, and sitting room. This includes a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffeemaker and coffee, but you may also bring your own snacks and beverages. We will provide a light morning breakfast treat, such as muffins or coffeecake, juice, and fruit. Our private living quarters will not be accessible from your suite, in order to keep our dogs from loving on you to the point of distraction. However, you may enjoy any of the outdoor living space that you choose. Please let us know if you would prefer to not interact with our dogs and we will keep them inside when you're out. Alas, the hot tub on the property is not available for guest use. Interaction with GuestsWe will interact with you as much, or as little, as you prefer. We will greet you upon your arrival, show you around, give you the house rules, and make sure you know where to find things and how to reach us. After that, we will follow your lead on how much interaction we have. We will be happy to sit on the porch and relax with you or give you suggestions for things you may want to do while in the area. However, if you prefer your privacy we will not be offended. In the morning we will leave a tray on your porch with a carafe of fresh-ground coffee and morning treats. On weekend mornings we may be found working on the property or we may already be out on the water or riding the open road! The NeighborhoodWe live in a beautiful area of Monroe County just outside of Bloomington. The area is heavily wooded but not secluded, so you have the advantages of a neighborhood with the peace and privacy of the country. We are only a seven minute drive from shopping, dining, and entertainment options, about fifteen minutes from campus and downtown. We love to enjoy a fun evening downtown, dinner, drinks, maybe a free concert or an I.U. Auditorium event, or a walk on the B-line Trail - and then come home to the peace and beauty of the country. Getting AroundYou will need to have a vehicle to get around (parking area provided). We are motorcycle-friendly, and can also make room for a boat if you plan on bringing one. Other Things to NoteWe have three dogs, who live in our private home area with us. Two of them are rescues, and the third is a retired military dog that once served with our grandson. They are very friendly and love people. By separating our living area from the guest area we will keep them from bothering you. However, if you are outside they will likely want to say hello to you. If you don't want to interact with them, please let us know and we'll keep them confined.

Thank you in advance for taking your time to consider our property! We look forward to meeting you! The condo is located in a small row of about 10 condos, near a main intersection (restaurant & business access) but is set near a beautiful grassy area and creek, giving you a gorgeous balcony view. Ideal for sitting outside and enjoying the cool evening hours in the summer. The space is bright, clean and comfortable. Guests have access to a private bedroom upstairs (Queen bed) and full bath. (There is a children's room on the same level, but that is not available for rental - doors are kept closed when guests are present). Your reservation includes essentials: shampoo and conditioner, fresh towels and linens, clean sheets and bedding. Additionally, we provide ingredients for simple breakfasts: eggs, bread, butter, jams, coffee, and teas. IMPORTANT TO NOTE: We are a quiet, respectful couple who live in the fully furnished basement of the condo, so we will be down there during your stay. We have our own walk out entrance/exit, so we will not need to walk through the space where you are staying to come and go. We will lock the door going down to the basement, so you will have complete privacy during your stay. You can always reach us by text if you need anything, though. We are happy to recommend activities and restaurants in the area or answer any questions you might have about Bloomington. This is a great place for parents visiting college students, alumni returning for IU events or for couples exploring our beautiful college town. Guest AccessYou have full access to the top two floors of the condominium, including the fully stocked kitchen, 1.5 bathrooms, balcony, comfortable living room. Includes free wifi access, DirecTV and free parking area. Easy access to the B-Line and Rail Trails. Bus stop immediately across the street takes you right to IU's campus. You will have the key to the front door and will be free to come and go as you please. The NeighborhoodOur small row of condos is fairly quiet. We have never had to deal with any super rowdy parties. And we feel very safe here, even at night. A few restaurants within walking distance (Pizza Hut, Subway, Aver's Pizza, Domino's, Papa Johns, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell). EXCELLENT natural foods grocery around the corner called Lucky's Market. Many guests have raved about it and we love it too! Getting AroundHosts work on the IU campus and, when weather is nice, walk to work (which is 2.2 miles straight down the road). The bus stop across the street is very helpful for visitors looking to get around Bloomington. Bus far is $1 per ride - cash only. You can see the buses in live time on your smartphone via the DoubleMap app. Uber is a great option for travel in Bloomington. It's faster, cheaper and cleaner than a taxi. And you don't have to worry about cash or tipping. If you are a first-time user of Uber, just download the Uber app onto your smartphone and enter Promo Code: i5swm to get a free Uber ride (up to a $20 trip). Other Things to NoteWe have one very lazy, super fat kitty named Minerva and one very hyper, ultra social ADHD kitten named Vespa. They live on property with us and usually have full access to the entire place. During guest stays, they will remain in the basement with us. We have hardwood floors and have never had an issue with them shedding or leaving hair anywhere. The litter box is located in our living area in the basement at all times. Minerva is very quiet, for the most part, but Vespa always wants to play. When we are home, she is happy and quiet. But if we are out and she hears you moving around upstairs, you may hear her meowing at the door and may spot a tiny paw under the door that leads from the living room down to the basement where we live. They do not make noise at night, so as long as you don't mind a little meowing if we leave for a bit during the day, we should all get along just fine. :)

The SpaceWelcome and thank you for viewing our room. We've stayed in many airbnbs and hotels around the world and have made an effort to provide you with the best accommodations based on what we've experienced. If you're looking for a private space with a separate entrance in a clean, quiet environment, this is the place for you. In other words, guests will not go through the rest of the house in order get to the room. If you enjoy soaking in a sunken tub in a very large, deluxe bathroom, you'll love this spot. Hosts have traveled the world, and know how to provide a comfortable room with all the amenities. Towels, sheets, shampoo, soap, lite snacks, coffee, tea, and bottled water are available for guest use. ***Guests are wowed by the floor to ceiling, spacious marble bathroom that makes them feel pampered by just setting foot into it. If you have a 3rd person feel free to rent our other listing which is a loft for one person. ***Guests love the hardwood oak floors. No soils, stains or dust embedded in them as is so often the case with carpeting. The room has a small refrigerator, microwave, small kitchen counter, basic food utensils, as well as a walk-in closet, chest of drawers, iron, and a lot of amenities tucked away throughout the room. ***Guests comment on our quiet neighborhood - yet it's so close to everything. Experience and previous interaction with guests has taught us that our room appeals most to those who are from Europe and/or have traveled internationally, as well as folks from larger urban areas. Parents of IU students also enjoy the solitude while here as well as the closeness to campus, restaurants and shopping. ***Guests especially enjoy their own private entrance because - let's face it - when you're traveling, sometimes you just need your own space. As we have no pets, folks with allergies can find a refuge here. You'll find luxuriously soft sheets on the beds, and a warm but light comforter (in the winter) with four pillows of varying levels of softness so that you can find the comfort level that is best for you. Extra sheets and blankets are available. 100% cotton hotel grade towels will soothe and dry your skin after a hot shower or bath in the deluxe sunken bathtub. Bath salts are provided. ***Guests love the soft, luxurious sheets. The owners designed and built (literally) the house and have put a lot of thought into making it comfortable and cozy for themselves and their guests. It is still a work in progress, so you may find some sort of project going on around the house. Guest AccessGuests will have access to the back deck with chairs (weather permitting), as well as their room and bathroom. Guests who stay more than a week can also schedule a time for laundry. Interaction with GuestsThere will be little interaction with hosts unless required by guests. Hosts will be happy to give information on local eateries, etc to guests, or answer any questions, but only if guests need and/or want this type of arrangement. We are very friendly, but don't want to be in your way. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is centrally located, yet very quiet and safe. It is an older neighborhood with mostly retired people. It is not a development - rather it has a long history of families living in the same home for decades. The homes range from very tiny, to a large mansion tucked away in the woods across the street. It is this variety that makes it interesting (at least this is what we find attractive - nothing cookie-cutter about it.) It is so quiet - especially at night - that guests might think they're in the country rather than in the middle of town, even though a major road is just 1/2 block away. Getting AroundThe bus is a 4 minute walk from the house and takes you near IU and/or shopping and restaurants in minutes. If you have a car, you'll be a few short minutes away from downtown, IU and/or shopping and restaurants. Other Things to NoteThe hosts live in the house with no pets or small children. Although we have the occasional gathering, generally we are a very quiet family, and will do everything to ensure that our guests have a quiet and comfortable stay.

The SpaceThank you for viewing our listing. Possibly the only loft bedroom in the Bloomington area, this cozy space is perfect for one guest. A sturdy hand-made wooden ladder leads you to a one-person loft with an octagonal window looking out to our spacious back yard and garden area. Although the space is small, it feels open and bright. Please note that the sleeping area is narrower and shorter than a twin bed so if you need more space, do not rent this space. Guest AccessThis lovely, hand-crafted loft is not for the faint in heart. Although it is bright and will meet all your needs, it is small and does not have standing room in the loft portion. The loft is 6'6" high with a steep (but sturdy) handmade ladder for access. The mattress consists of two locally hand-crafted futons and a memory foam mattress pad which has been tested and used by many guests, all of whom give it high marks. If you have health issues that would make it difficult to climb and accommodate yourself in the loft as described, please do not book this room. Guests will have a private bathroom - with beautiful marble and glass walls. A shower with an optional hand-held shower head, and plenty of water pressure will soothe your muscles after a long day of study. Also in the room is a small refrigerator and microwave, desk, chair and one-person hammock that's great for relaxation. There is large glass sliding door that goes out to a very large deck area that is perfect for studying or hanging out on nice days. Interaction with GuestsWe are hands-off hosts. We are there when you need us, and out of your way when you're busy. We will greet you, inform you, and host/entertain/chat with you as much or as little as you want. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is a mix of large and small homes - no boring cookie-cutter development here. Most of the folks on the block are older, so it is very quiet. We have litter critters e.g. bunnies, squirrels, ground-hogs, turkeys and many birds to keep you company. You might think you're in the country even though you are less than 2 miles to downtown and the campus. Shopping is even closer. We are a pet-free, carpet-free, smoke-free home - perfect for people with allergies. Getting AroundA 5 minute walk will get you to the bus that goes downtown or to shopping areas. Other Things to NoteOur home was built by us - literally. Ever tile, 2 by 4, dry-wall, brick, stone and accessory was hand-placed by either Victor or his brother. We take pride in our home and hope you will enjoy the feeling of a home made this way. It is a work in progress and you may encounter us in the midst of our next project.
