The SpaceThis quiet, 600 square feet apartment is above our detached garage. Private and yet very safe and secure. The bedroom features a queen-sized bed, the living room a futon. Shower only/no tub. Full kitchen with a full sized washer and dryer. Guest AccessGuests are able to come and go without fear of disturbing us. Large deck and gas grill are available as well. Interaction with GuestsI'm always a text or phone call away. We are usually onsite and can assist as needed. With our key code lock, guests have as much or little interaction as they like. The NeighborhoodWe are right across the street from a nice park, that does offer a public pool in season.
If you are looking for something close by, the Dairy, Pig, and Crop Adventure at Fair Oaks Farms is a 15 minute drive away. They have a great restaurant, cafe, and an adventure and learning park. Kids and adults can see what life on a dairy and hog farm is like. We also have a few great, unique second hand boutiques and several locally-owned coffee shops and restaurants.
Take a car or the SouthShore Train Line to Chicago for the day! Enjoy the free parks- Millennium Park, Maggie Daley Park, Grant Park, The Bean, and Navy Pier! Or spend the day at The Museum of Science and Industry, The Art Institute of Chicago, The Shedd Aquarium, The Field Museum of National History, or Lincoln Park Zoo. If the whether is nice a walk along the Chicago Lake Front Shore is thoroughly enjoyable especially when you stop to eat our famous deep dish pizza at Ginos or Digiornos. Chicago almost always has some kind of festival going on, so look up the dates you will be there and stop in for the party.
Spend the day in Indianapolis- a beautiful city with countless excellent, unique, locally owned restaurants, cafes, and shops. Spend the day at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, the Zoo, or walking around the various War Memorials. Rensselaer is easy to walk around, but you'll likely want to have your car. Bicycles and chauffeur service available for an additional fee. Other Things to NoteWe do have two large dogs that reside inside our house. They are very friendly, but we do our best to keep them away from guests.
