Interaction with GuestsOnce we meet with guests to provide some tipi and equipment information, we allow them their privacy. The timber provides a visual and sound barrier. We are available to them at our home if they need anything, The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is in the country in a farm setting. The views from our home are peaceful and inviting. We are only 5 miles from town if you need anything. There is a grocery store, hardware store and several locally owned restaurants. We are within 30 minutes of the Tanger Outlet Mall, Fireside Winery, Ladora Bank Bistro and Amana Colonies Historic Village. Getting AroundWe are in a rural area and getting to our home includes one mile of gravel. Public transportation is not available.
There is a sign on our mailbox at the entrance of the driveway.
When you arrive, we will meet you in front of the house. Drive directly around the house to the site, parking is available as close to the tipi or kitchen site as you wish. Other Things to NoteCampers sleeping in the tipi will find the floor carpeted with rugs. Feel free to bring an air mattress along with your sleeping bag and pillows. The sleeping area is a tipi that has withstood tornado force winds. However, it does have a smoke hole at the point and even when the smoke flaps are closed appropriately, some rain can come in. We are flexible when severe weather prevents campers from using the site.
Campers will also need to bring what ever food they would like to eat, including spices and seasonings. The kitchen is very well equipped for cooking over the fire or charcoal grill. This includes three sizes of Dutch ovens (no need for pots and pans with these), Dutch oven accessories, a grill for the fire ring and a Webber grill with briquettes and chimney starter. The idea is to keep it simple for our campers, it is an adventure after all!
