Vetehuset showcases the best in Scandinavian design: minimalism, functionality and beauty that leaves a very small ecological footprint. Please review Vetehuset's exceptional features below:
Mobility impaired? Bad knees? Not a big fan of stairs? Vetehuset features its own private elevator, enclosed in the "grain elevator" entrance. SImply push a button and be whisked to the second floor of this historic building for a truly uplifting stay.
Efficient and Clean, Naturally
Vetehuset is tightly insulated and powered by the sun for maximum energy efficiency. The appliances are ultra-efficient too, including the in-unit washer and dryer. We also use earth-friendly all-natural cleaning products. You can feel good about staying here.
Functional--Everything Makes Sense
"Function," as Swedes know, doesn't mean boring. High ceilings, sleek industrial-style light fixtures and patterned fabrics are highlights in the large living area, which includes a king-size bed and a pullout couch (together, these sleep four comfortably). A wall-mounted flat screen HDTV swivels to face either the couch or the kitchen. Free Wi-Fi and free local and long-distance phone calls within the USA are included.
Complete Kitchen for Nearly Every Meal
You'll feel like you stepped into a catalog when you prepare a meal in Vetehuset's gourmet kitchen, with its stainless steel appliances, wood-faced cabinets, gleaming quartz countertops and stainless steel backsplash. When you meal is finished, serve it at the industrial-style table with room for four.
A custom bathroom features sleek modern finishes, a large barrier-free shower, plenty of counter space at the vanity sink and a tile backsplash. In addition to the barrier-free shower, Vetehuset - Plant offers a full-size tub to soak away your cares or to give the kiddos a bath.
Convenient to Festivals, Conventions, Reunions and Celebrations
Vetehuset is located smack in the middle of downtown Lindsborg, making it easy for guests to enjoy the town's full schedule of Swedish festivals, like Hyllningsfest and Waffledagen (a celebration of--what else?--waffles!). And it's right across Main Street from Lindsborg's Sundstrom Conference Center.
Steps to Downtown's Main Street
Also check out downtown's small businesses, including art galleries, a coffee roaster, even a clocksmith. Walk along Main Street to dine on Swedish fare and Midwestern comfort foods at the Swedish Crown restaurant, Farley's or the Brick House Grill and pastries and light lunches at the Old Grind. Be sure to ask them about fika, the Swedish coffee break!
Vetehuset - Plantera is conveniently located on the second floor of the Berquist and Nelson Drugstore at 105 North Main Street in Lindsborg, Kansas. It shares the second floor with Vetehuset - Skorda, our other short-term rental apartment. Both apartments share the convenience of an onsite laundry. Larger parties can lease both studio apartments because that can be connected.
Guests arriving in downtown Lindsborg drive west from the intersection of Main and Lincoln Streets to North Lilligaten Street on the north side. Once past the Swedish Country Inn, drive east toward the grain elevator that reads "Vetehuset Lindsborg." Park in the covered carport and use your access codes to ride the private elevator to the second story.
