The SpaceThe Good room has its own large attached bathroom. There is a commons area with a small library and flat panel television with a Blue-ray DVD player. The cozy library room is decorated with antique furnishings and library book cases, sofa and upholstered arm chair with reading lamps. Wireless Internet is available throughout the house and some of the garden area outside. There is seating in the front room furnished with mission style furnishings as well as artwork from early to mid 20th century European and Kansas artists. There are two wing-back chairs in the bay window of the dining room that overlook the cottage garden and bird sanctuary. Out front, there is a covered porch, complete with porch swing and wicker seating. In the rear of the house there is a covered deck with seating also. We have a fire ring and seating area in the backyard that can be used for enjoying your evening. During the winter months, you can enjoy a seating area in our working greenhouse that is complete with a wood burning stove. There are also several private areas in the cottage garden where you can escape the presence of the city and relax in the shade of 80 year old trees while being surrounded by flowers, lush vegetation, and shrubs. Guest AccessBreakfast is available upon request for an additional $10 per person and would be billed separately during your stay. Guests may enjoy the tranquil spaces provided in the front library room the front room or front porch. The cottage garden outside has multiple areas for sitting and enjoying the flowers and plants. There is also a small seating area in the working greenhouse that features a wood burning fireplace for those cold winter evenings. A small seating area is also available in the bay window of the dining room affords a nice view of the cottage garden and bird sanctuary. Enjoy using wireless Internet throughout the house and outside. Smoking is only allowed outside. Interaction with GuestsWe are always available if needed, but never in the way. We live upstairs so guests have the ground floor all to themselves with the exception of when we are preparing our meals in the Kitchen. We like to visit with our guests when the check in to make sure we provide them with everything they need to make their stay as enjoyable as possible. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is one of the last real old time communities where people ride bikes, kids play outside and families walk to church together. It is not unlike how the neighborhood was 100 years ago. Many of the families that live in this turn of the century neighborhood also live in the homes they grew up in. You can walk to Delano to shop or dine or go enjoy the parks along the river approx. 1/2 mile away, or ride a bike on the bike path along the river. We are just a few minutes drive from nearly all of the Wichita's main attractions. There are variety of restaurants and bars in Delano. The Shamrock pub is just 2 blocks away and has a large outside seating area and shuffle board inside. The bar has been in continuous operation since 1933. Getting AroundBus routes are just one block to the North and South of Delano Bed and Breakfast. The B&B is approx. 1/2 mile from the center of the commerce district. From the airport you take Kellogg East to Seneca Exit, turn North (left) go under Kellogg overpass continue North going one block past Maple street (with stop light) turn left on Burton St. Follow Burton street until you reach our driveway which lines up with the street just beyond the 3 way intersection. Pull into the drive to park. Other Things to NoteDuring your stay you will have the opportunity to enjoy a large outdoors area to relax in with multiple seating areas. We have a vine covered rear deck with a hammock and seating. The neighborhood is about a 1/2 mile from the river so you can either walk to the river or take a quick drive to the park. The house was built around 1910 by Morris Schollenberger, the first car dealer in Kansas. Mr. Schollenberger opened the Wichita Automobile Co. in 1900; selling REO and Maxwell cars until the business was sold in 1925.

The SpaceHistoric home built by automobile dealer pioneer, Morris Schollenberger around 1908. The rooms all have access to Wi-fi, the cottage garden, front porch and rear deck and seating areas. We have off street parking in the driveway. We want to be available for our guests when they need us, and out of their way when they don't! Old time quaint and quiet neighborhood. The NeighborhoodDelano Bed and Breakfast is tucked away in a quiet, turn of the century, neighborhood in the center of the Historic Delano District. The B&B is within walking distance, or a few minutes drive from shopping, dining, museums, city parks, Masonic home, Friends and Newman Universities and the airport. Getting AroundThere is public transit on block away which can take you throughout most of the city. Guests are within walking distance (5-8 blocks) from restaurants, bars and a coffee shop.

The SpaceOne bedroom with a queen size bed and a private bathroom located across the hallway. If you have children, I also have a full size bedroom available. You are welcome in any area of my home and you will have full access to the kitchen, laundry and all the utensils. Guest AccessGuests will have access to laundry facilities, located in the basement. They will have access to the deck and patio areas and all areas in the house. There is also a dining room, sun room, office and breakfast nook area. Interaction with GuestsI will be available to help you with your stay either through my cell phone or personally available at the house. I have two dogs but one of the dogs I take to school with me as a therapy dog. Both dogs are very socialized to both people and other animals. During the summer, I travel so I may or may not be here when you are here. If you would like me to pick up groceries for you before you come, please let me know and I can get you what you need and leave a receipt for you. There are several grocery stores close by. The Wichita Old Town area is close if you enjoy spending time in the downtown area. The NeighborhoodThe house is located at the edge of the beautiful college hill district in Sleepy Hollow, across the street from McDonald golf course. There is a wooded walking/biking path located a couple of blocks from the house. The neighbors on both sides of the house are very good at looking after the house while I am away. Wichita State University is within a couple of miles from the house, as well as a dog park and several shopping areas. Old Town is 5-7 minutes away and I'm located a few blocks to Wesley Hospital and 8 minutes to St. Francis. Getting AroundParking is available on the street next to the house or in the driveway when I am away. Public transportation is available through Uber and the local bus that picks up at the Dillons grocery store. Other Things to NoteIf you have children attending WSU, I am only a few blocks the WSU campus. Also, if you have a loved one staying at Wesley hospital, I am in walking distance from Wesley hospital. There is a public golf course located across the street from the property.

The SpaceWe're just a couple of blocks from the river, bicycle paths and parks. We live close to downtown and we have a few bikes you can rent for a small fee. We have three private rooms with beds. One queen and another single bed room. We will usually be here during your stay. This is an ideal space for artists and those who enjoy older homes and old world charm. Our location is situated near several parks, bicycle routes, the Wichita Art Museum and Downtown. We have several bikes to rent for a small fee. Discounts available for longer stays. Smoking is allowed on the breezeway and in the Chicken Coop but not in the main house. We provide clean sheets and towels upon your arrival. We don't have television service but there is free wifi throughout the house and a large television for viewing DVDs in the basement. We have a variety of movies you may watch. I have two daughters. One is in college, she frequently visits over the weekend. Children are welcome here! You may use our kitchen to prepare meals as long as you clean up after yourself. You may keep food in the refrigerator if need be. For those who enjoy live music, Wichita has an extraordinary music and theater scene and I am privy to weekly shows and other types of entertainment in the Wichita area. Let me know what you like and I'll help you come up with a plan for your stay. Please refer to my map for fun spots and restaurants near our house. Guest AccessWe have two private rooms with beds. One queen and a small single bed room. Two people traveling together will get the queen bed to share. If you don't want to share the same room, please book as three and tell me there are only two. I do have to wash the sheets and clean in the extra room. We use the two bedrooms on the main floor. The shower bathroom is unavailable weekday mornings from 6:30 to 7:30 during the school year as I need to get ready for work and sometimes for about an hour on weekend nights. The half bath upstairs is always available to guests. I may occasionally need to access the rooms but you can let me know if you do not want to be disturbed and I will honor your request. You're welcome to use the breezeway, backyard and the finished basement where we have a large television ready for DVDs. We have WIFI! The password will appear after you book. Please write this down. There is a passcode for the door. Please message me for the passcode if Airbnb does not provide it for you. Pets are allowed as long as they are very well house trained and get along with my terriers. Interaction with GuestsThis is our home so we're usually here when we're not at school. During the summer we may be away more often. We like to make new friends and know a lot about fun things to do in Wichita. Please feel free to ask. I do enjoy conversing with my guests but sometimes I am simply too busy, so please don't take that as an affront if that happens to be the case while you are here. The NeighborhoodWe live three blocks from the Arkansas river and just over the river is the charming Riverside neighborhood where you'll find several parks, a small zoo, botanical gardens, coffee shops, restaurants, the Wichita Art Museum and the must-see Keeper of the Plains. We are very close to Downtown Wichita which features a variety of restaurants, shopping, bars, clubs, art galleries and other fun things to do. We're even closer to the historic Delano District, another area for great shopping, restaurants, bars and sightseeing. Wichita is a great city for art, live music and eating out! There are numerous shops and restaurants all around us, right in our neighborhood. There is a great swim club just a few blocks away. Tell me what you like to do, I'll point you in the right direction. Getting AroundAs I've mentioned, I have some bicycles here you may rent. I'm an avid cycler myself and can point you to the best routes. Wichita has bus service with stops near our house but buses in Wichita are slow. There are several taxi services to choose from and of course there is Uber. There are several neighborhood amenities within walking distance. Other Things to NoteWe live on a busy street. Please be cautious if you use the driveway. I recommend parking on the street, which is only one house away from ours. It is safer to get out from the street. You are welcome to use the driveway as long as you never block another car in. It is okay to park behind the turquoise camper bus. Please be very careful backing out if you do choose to park in the driveway. One guest mentioned that she could hear cars passing on 13th street but that they were very soft and did not bother her, she just felt that I should inform people in case they would be bothered. Another guest was bothered by the noise of cars passing. If you are a very sensitive sleeper and cars driving down a street bother you, please be prepared for this. If you arrive when we are not here, walk straight in from the front door and down the hallway. You will find a door with a mirror on it. Open this door to find the stairway to your accommodations.
