A 1930s old country home. Grandpa built himself using wood from an old cedar barn and had this home constructed for grandma. Each piece of wood carried through the woods before any streets ever thought of. Lots of history. Ask me anything. :-)

Feel free to request room service or breakfast served to you out on the front porch or under the gazebo one morning. (Note: Hurricane Issac destroyed my gazebo working to restore)
I'm available to offer as much direction or advice as you'd like and with a little notice wouldn't even mind showing you around or dropping you off at a local spot.
We are only 5 minutes from the Causeway toll bridge to New Orleans and total about 40-45 minutes from downtown New Orleans and Bourbon Street.
Pick up from and to airport may be possible for an additional fee $60 with advanced notification. Can't hurt to ask as my mom always said.
Hope to see ya soon.
"Las sie les bon temps rouller!" (Cajun French) = "Let the good times roll!"

This really is one of those best kept secrets.
Kitchen access restricted until further notice. Interaction with GuestsGuest may have as much or little interaction with owner as you wish. I'm here for you if needed but also have a busy life as a single mother of a 5 year old so I'm on the go allot.
Guests are never permitted access into my person bedroom. Or my son's bedroom. The NeighborhoodNeighbors quiet everyone kinda keeps to themselves but we all give a wave coming and going. They work during the day and in by early evening. This is a small one block street so everyone knows each other and we jeep an eye on one another a homes. I will get a phone call if anything looks odd... Neighbors, gotta love'em for better or for worse. :-) Getting AroundYou can walk pretty much anywhere in town. Ole Mandeville isn't a big place but the heat will probably keep you in your car during the summer months. Warning! Get prepared, summers in LA can be brutal do we rely on AC. :-) There are a couple bike rental companies near the trailhead and a taxi service.
Car recommended but not necessary if you are staying within the Mandeville area. Other Things to NoteThis is Louisiana and we are surrounded by trees so bring your allergy meds, bug spray, sun screen, bathing suits, appetite, extra cash for eating out and souvenirs. Two very impressive gyms are nearby. You can pay for a day membership for about $15 to go swimming and workout or go to the lakefront or Fontainebleau State Park about 5-10 minutes up the road and swim in Lake Pontchartrain for free. Weather permitting you can grill in the backyard or grab a few beers, make a barn fire and sit out in the lawn chairs while enjoying nature. Remember, in Louisiana we say, "if you don't like the weather just hang around for about 15/20 minutes and its sure to change."
Thanks for your interest in my listing. It is a very quaint and comfy home. That means small but comfortable. However, it's an easy 40 minute drive into downtown New Orleans across the scenic Lake Pontchartrain bridge which happens to be the 3rd longest bridge over water in the world. Do you like trivia; guess where the other two are?
Additionally, holiday and special event prices are always a little higher than off season. Mardi Gras and New Years Eve in New Orleans always draw large crowds so visitors tend to plan very early to get in or near the French Quarters or Bourbon Street to see the Baby New Year get launched from on top of Jax's Brewery it see the parades pass down Cabal Street.
The weekly holiday and special events rate is $300 + $35 housekeeping + online booking fees or daily rate of $89 per night + $35 housekeeping fee + online fees.
The room is booked on a first qualified and first to pay basis. The kitchen is off limits to guests during the holiday season as my frig will be full of holiday goodies and I will be preparing holiday meals. However, I have no problem serving you coffee or tea with toast or preparing you a home cooked meal for only $5.
I look forward to hearing from you and seeing your booking but if not I wish you the very best and hope to nee you on your next stay.
