The SpaceYour guest suite overlooks a beautiful expansive view of the pond, our little bridge, acres of near the beach floral and fauna plus you are just minutes from beautiful beaches, lighthouses, a lobster shack, amazing rocky coastline & the entertainment & excitement of vibrant Portland, Maine. Romantic setting, new beds, new bedding, private bath, huge TV, 2 love seats, & dining area. Professionally designed. Luxury+value. Imagine, you can be minutes from the most beautiful beaches in Maine and minutes from Maine's most exciting city, Portland, at the same time. Plus you can stay at a beautiful professionally designed home at a rate that is at least half of what you would pay at the impersonal Best Western in the industrial part of Portland! The space is unique because I am an interior designer so I have put my skill to the test creating a home that reflects the beautiful beach surroundings we get to enjoy everyday, all year round. Your space is very impressive and people often comment that it is even more beautiful in person and way larger than it appears in pictures. I enjoy updating (i.e., retail therapy shopping) so don't be surprised by a new couch or painting or whatever that could differ from the last time I posted pictures. This is the fun part of Air BnB for me. I like to "Wow!" people and I really enjoy providing a vacation experience like I wish I could find when I am on vacation. So, needless to say, everything is new and quality including the new ultra comfortable pillow top mattresses and the huge (I mean the size of a tiny NYC bedroom!) freshly updated bathroom. We even offer the option to try all kinds of fancy pillows: Brookstone, Cuddledown, My Pillow, Sleep for Success.... Guest AccessGuests are more than welcome to chat and hang out with us, if that is what you want and if we happen to be around or available. We do not offer B and B in the traditional sense of Bed and Breakfast because of our busy lives, confining tax laws, and the fact that my husband is not always available to cook, plus we want to keep the price low, but what we do offer is a very well kept spacious area of our house with a private bath in one of the best locations around. You have the beach and you have the the fun of Portland right at your finger tips. We rarely saw our last guests, the night before we enjoyed appetizers and a glass of wine while watching the sunset with another set of guests and today we will be going to the lake and won't be around at all. There's so much fun stuff to do in this area that we often are out and about, just like you probably will be too. Our guests are as diverse as the world itself, some people love their privacy and there's plenty of that here, some love to be social and we are open for that too. Interaction with GuestsWe have lived in Cape Elizabeth, Maine for a while and really know it well. We not only know of some of the best restaurants and places to visit, we love sharing this information with orhers. Another little specialty of ours is finding great deals. There are wonderful happy hours and places that have great specials that only a local would know about. Guests will have access to an amazing deck with a new grill. You also have open access to times to chat and hang out with us, if that is what you want. We do not offer B and B in the traditional sense of Bed and Breakfast but instead a "homestay", there are so many wonderful places to have breakfast around here. Try the Good Table and C Salt. What we do offer is a low price, a very well kept room and house, and a very hearty welcome. Hang out time works for us, and then we are open for whatever spontaneous gatherings that can happen. Last night our guests joined us in the Old Port at Boones, the night before we enjoyed appetizers and a glass of wine with our guests while the sunset, today we will be going to the lake and won't be around at all. There's so much fun stuff to do in this area that we often are out and about, just like you probably will be too. Our guests are as diverse as the world itself, some people love their privacy and there's plenty of that here, some love to be social and we are open for that too. The NeighborhoodI often marvel at our good fortune of being so very close to a destination city as cool and sophisticated as Portland, Maine and being at the beach at the same time. We have the best of both worlds. It is no wonder that Portland is on the top 10 lists of awesome places to visit. I am also not surprised that our local lighthouse is the most photographed in the world. This place is gorgeous. Look up Portland Headlight and you will see why. There is a classic cliff walk to the left of the lighthouse that is so pretty that we had wedding photos taken there. There are actually 5 lighthouse nearby and a bike tour that takes you to all of them...or you could drive. This is an incredible place and we get to call it home and you will get to call it one of your favorite vacation spots if you decide to stay here and we hope you will. Getting AroundYou will need a car if you're coming out to Cape Elizabeth in order to really enjoy the area. You could always Uber your way around, but in the end you will probably want the convenience of a car.

The SpaceGorgeous and quality furnishings (the mattress is by Sealy and is designed for people with back problems-better mattress than mine!) in an immaculately kept very, very large guest suite overlooking acres of open nature (and it seems there is always a bird singing somewhere), so close to the ocean and yet minutes from the Old Port. Location, location, location plus beauty and nice :-) people make this place a winner. It is not easy to toot ones own horn, but hard work has been rewarded with about 250 5 star ratings, a lightening bolt Super Host status, 100% ratings, 100% responsive rate. :) At our place you will have high-speed Internet, and beautiful furnishings, 2 living room type areas, queen size quality (i.e., expensive) mattress, new convertible sofa, and an additional single rollaway bed is available also and a beautiful bathroom. You will have your own entrance, a garden area with beautiful outdoor furnishings overlooking a beautiful view. We are friendly couple. Our love of people is what has caused us to want to open our home to the world. It seems selfish to us to keep this to ourselves. We are as open to interaction as people would like. We know the area thoroughly. If you have a free day and want to know what to do I will have multiple lists of great opportunities at only the best places and at the best times and at the best price. The Guest Suite is the garden level of our house and is always cool in the summer, even without air conditioning, but we provide air conditioning too. We live on the second floor of the house and your private suite is just huge. It is flooded with natural light from a window or French doors on just about every available wall. You have your own private outdoor sitting area surrounded by a classic New England stone wall filled with flowers, but if you enjoy being social let's get together and enjoy a refreshment together at your place or ours. There can be opportunities to meet people from all over the world should you desire or you could enjoy the privacy of your own place separated from the others. Either way, we do our best to provide the best for each individual guest...and that is how we see you; our guest. Guest AccessYou will have ultra high-speed Internet, and beautiful furnishings, everything you need, queen size quality mattress, convertible sofa, even a roller bed if you need it, 2 sitting areas, huge breakfast bar, and a beautiful bathroom. You will have your own entrance, a garden area with beautiful outdoor furnishings overlooking gardens, a pond, a little bridge and s lovely deck overlooking acres of gorgeous nature. We even provide boogie boards, beach towels and chairs plus a cooler. Interaction with GuestsWe are a friendly couple. Our love of people is what has caused us to want to open our home to the world. It seems selfish to us to keep this to ourselves. Although we are as open to interaction as people would like, we also are busy having fun in the summer and understand that some people love to cocoon and be very private. We are open for anything. We know the area thoroughly. If you have a free day and want to know what to do I will have multiple lists of great opportunities at only the best places and at the best times and at the best price. I created a hand written book with enough fun things to do to keep you busy for a month: from walks along the beach, to a bike ride to 5 lighthouses, to boat rides to islands or joining a lobsterman on a adventure. I even have a brewery tour, rainy day fun list and lobster restaurant reviews. I have all the research done for you. Actually, the most common comment we hear is that our guests had no idea how much there is to do here and wish that they planned to stay longer. The other comment we get is that they never have stayed in an Air BnB of this quality and that we have set the bar pretty high. We hope you agree. The NeighborhoodLocation. Location. Location! We live on a cape jetting out into the ocean, on a pond with lovely views very close to everything. Moments from multiple beaches. There are 5 lighthouses within minutes from the house. You are 7 minutes from the bridge that leads you right to the waterfront of Portland too. It is just amazing. I can hardly believe I live here. Our guests are so impressed by all there is to do here and often wish that they could stay longer. Getting AroundYou will need a car to fully appreciate this area. You could take a taxi here and walk to lots of stuff straight from here if you would like. There are quality restaurants right in the neighborhood and you can walk to the beaches too, but I always cart too much stuff and end up choosing to drive the minute down the road! Plus my favorite beach area is Kettles Cove and Crescent Beach. I have walk that beach more times than I can count. Other Things to NoteWe have done our best to provide a safe home for you. We have fire extinguishers on the wall centrally located, wired smoke and carbon monoxide detectors, exit signs and special lights that glow brighter so as to guide you should there be a power failure and should the smoke detector go off. Fire escape access is obvious, but I even provide a little map of the fire escape route. May you have a safe and enjoyable visit.

The NeighborhoodTodd Road is a short dead-end road off Shore Road. It is extremely quiet and private. The Shore Road pathway is awesome for walking or biking and Fort Williams park is only two miles away. Getting AroundThere is no public transportation in Cape Elizabeth.
