The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is well established and quiet. There are many walking routes available as well as nearby tennis courts and a park. Driveway parking is available & street parking plentiful(URL HIDDEN)The bedroom is approx 14' x 18' with a full private bathroom attached, right out side the bedroom door. It is located on the other side of the house and does not share walls with my room. There is a small flat screen in the bedroom with basic cable, an alarm clock, arm chair, book case, night stand, ceiling fan, 2 closets and most importantly a brand new mattress and pillows. No smokers please due to allergic reaction. WIFI is here. Long term stays welcome. Guest AccessYou may watch TV in the living room, use the kitchen and adjacent breakfast nook. There is a washer and dryer in the hallway upstairs by the room so you can easily do laundry. Within 2 miles of NIST, 270, bowling alley, grocery store, Dogfish Head Ale House, and other restaurants. Getting AroundYou can drive to DC in about 45 minutes, though it's a lot more in rush hour. Otherwise, on weekdays you can walk to the MARC train or all days of the week drive to the Shady Grove Metro Station where the ride into DC is about 45 minutes. Five minute walk to Metropolitan Grove MARC commuter train stop which includes stop in Rockville, Silver Spring, and DC. The ride to DC is about 45 minutes and ends at Union Station. Check MARC schedule as it only runs weekdays (trains go into DC between approx 6am-8:30am and leave DC back to our house between approx 3:30pm-7:30). We are right by NIST, three miles from the Kentlands, fifteen minute drive to Shady Grove Metro station (45 minute metro ride into DC). Two miles from 270, one exit north of 370 for easy highway access. Within an hour of Baltimore, Annapolis, DC, an all area airports (BWI, IAD -Dulles, DCA -Reagan).           The SpaceThe main level features a very open layout with a family room, dining room, gourmet island kitchen, and a fireplace. On a good day it is a very bright and sunny space as this is an end unit and there are 16 large windows on the main level. There is also a balcony with a couple of blueberry bushes and a small table with two surprisingly comfortable chairs for you to enjoy. The condo occupies the top 2 levels of a town house type structure (piggyback), so you have to go up 2 flights worth of stairs to access the living area. Guest AccessYou will be able to access the entire home. I do have belongings and clothes stored in the closets, but feel free to use the remaining space as you see fit. Interaction with GuestsI will be out of town during your stay, but will be reachable via text, phone, email, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) or whatever mode of communication you wish to use. A member of my family will be in the area if an issue comes up during your stay that cannot be resolved by me remotely. The NeighborhoodVery quiet and green neighborhood. Getting AroundYou will generally need a car to get around, but there is a very nice plaza with Whole Foods and a wide variety of other stores/restaurants within a three quarters of a mile walk. Other Things to NoteI have an extensive bar with various wines and liquors (selection subject to change ;). Feel free to enjoy anything that is open and just leave me a few bucks to cover the cost. Getting Around- 5 minutes walk to Metropolitan Grove MARC commuter train stop to DC. MARC trains run on weekday, go into DC between 5:28 am and 8:24 am and leave DC back to the house between 3:30 pm and 7:25 pm. - 2 miles from NIST and 270. - 15 minutes drive to Shady Grove Metro Station. - Within 50 minutes drive during non traffic hours to all area airports, IAD-Dulles International Airport, DCA-Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, and BWI-Baltimore Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Other Things to NoteI have a 13 years old toy poodle named Lulu and a 7 years old orange tabby named Juju. They both are very friendly and roam everywhere in the house except your room.

                The SpaceWashington Grove is an old Methodist retreat from the 1800's. Driving into The Grove is often compared to the feeling of driving into a sleep away camp, after all, the street signs are made of wood and hand carved, we have our own lake and everyone waves hello when they drive past. My 4000 square foot cedar home sits in the woods on one side and on the other side, rests on the "Sacred Circle" where the original prayer meetings were held in the 1800's. After your glass of wine in the evenings, take a stroll through one of the many paths or trails that wind through the Grove. You may also enjoy a dip in our lake (which is just a short walk through the woods). I have two bedrooms upstairs for rent - a master suite with a king bed, large screen television and private bathroom. In addition, I am renting my favorite room in the house, which I call the cathedral room because of its high wooden ceilings and fantastic views of the "Sacred Circle" ($95 per night) Downstairs is a wonderful "man cave" where there is a pinball machine, pingpong table, fusball table and large screen television. There is a pull out bed there for rent as well. This room is $75 per night. Guest AccessRelax on the porch, the patio and enjoy the walking paths and hiking trails of Washington Grove. I will put out iced tea for you to enjoy during the day, but otherwise I prefer that you let me handle things in the kitchen. I'm happy to help you use the home theatre system in the living room. Interaction with GuestsI'll be cooking and serving a full gourmet breakfast each morning during your stay. Homemade bread, pancakes, bacon and eggs are just a few of my specialties. Getting AroundWe are a 5 minute walk (end of the street) to the Marc stop which takes you directly into Washington DC Union's Station. We are also a 5 minute drive to the Shady Grove Metro Stop. Washington DC is about a 40 minute drive from the house and about the same via Metro and the Marc train. Other Things to NoteThe house has full wireless access.

                                    The SpaceYou will have 1 bedrooms and 1 bath. One bedroom is a master bedroom that has a queen sized bed which sleeps 2 people. The master bedroom can be locked for your convenience and I will provide keys to do so. It includes a kitchenette (toaster, coffeemaker, microwave, small refrigerator). The additional bedroom has a twin bed that sleeps 1 person(additional $15 per night ). The bathroom is in the master bedroom. WiFi is available. We have many electric fans for your convenience, as well as A/C and heating. We live in a very quiet area and we are sure you will enjoy your stay!
