Comfortable house situated on the shore of Hoosac Lake with beautiful, long views stretching across the large lake. It's fully furnished, with cable TV, stereo, and high-speed Internet. There's a big kitchen, with a central island for dining. The expansive living/dining room and attached study, with distinctive wood paneling, are flooded with light and look out on the lawn and lake. One bedroom is on the main level, and one is upstairs with a roof window (AC in both bedrooms). The furnishings are pleasant, with some antiques. Windowed basement has washer & dryer, ping-pong table. The house is situated on large grounds gently sloping to the lake. It has upper and lower decks with outdoor furniture, and one screened deck. The location is quiet, on a dead-end road that extends into the middle of the lake. Rowboat and dock, kayaks available. Jiminy Peak skiing, Ashuwilticook bike trail, Tanglewood, Williamstown, Lenox, MASS MoCA, and gorgeous fall foliage all within a short drive.
In the summer, the rental normally goes from Saturday to Saturday.

In the heart of the Berkshires, the house is on Hoosac Lake and is close to the new Ashuwillticook Rail Trail (great for biking and for long walks), as well as Jiminy Peak for winter skiing and summer activities. The house is also right next to the Appalachian trail and close to Mt. Greylock. For contemporary art and an art scene, MassMoca in North Adams is 20 minutes away to the north. The superb music center at Tanglewood, with magnificent concerts all summer long in the shed or on the beautiful lawn, is only 30 minutes to the south. The same length drive to the northwest brings one to the charming town of Williamstown, with great theatre at the Williamstown Theatre Festival and lots of good restaurants. For cinema, the Berkshire Mall is about a ten minute drive and a selection of supermarkets, Barnes & Noble, etc. are about 10 minutes away.
