Gated In-ground Pool with diving board on the deep end, stairs going into the pool on the Shallow End. Kids and Dogs love to jump in and climb out. The NeighborhoodSpacious and luxurious inside and out, yet minutes from the heart of South Egremont, MA, a pre-Revolutionary town where -- unforgettably -- the old and new come together. To Berkshire natives, the area of Western Massachusetts recalls memories of childhood vacations in the grandeur of its majestic green hills, of swimming in mysterious hidden lakes that dot the state and of family lunches and dinners at favorite restaurants on its country roads. To us the Berkshires have always been alive with music by the Boston Symphony orchestra at Tanglewood in Lenox, and rich in the famous folksy paintings in the fabulous collection at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge. Today, new memories are being born with innovative attractions that co-exist and blend with the natural beauty of the area....a rope adventure course in a forestry site where you'll be suspended on safety lines between the earth and the forest canopy as you scramble along any one of eight aerial trails of varying difficulty....new Berkshire restaurants like Brava, a wine and tapas bar in Lenox and Moe's Tavern in Lee where craft beer and American whiskey lovers mingle, and an old standby, Bagels Too in Pittsfield, has some of the country's best bagels outside of New (URL HIDDEN) Arrowhead, take a tour of the 18th century home of Herman Melville where he completed Moby Dick. Then, on to the Old Creamery Co-Op in Cummington to pick up sandwiches and head to Savoy Mountain State Forest in Florida, MA for a swim in one of the crystalline ponds, followed by your picnic lunch. Interaction with GuestsIf I am available I certainly will be as helpful as I can be. I will definitely leave a surrogate or be reachable by phone. There are no questions too small so please feel free to ask. I mean that sincerely. The NeighborhoodBy far the most unique quality about my neighborhood is the way the home is situated on the street so as to feel like there are no neighbors at all. Not even a half dozen cars go by on our country road a day. I should also mention, though, that I live on a street with a very eclectic mix of people. From a violin maker, a sheepfarmer, a jeweler and a second homeowner from Boston. We all look out for each other and share the same passion for a "green " way of life. Living here affords me the opportunity to live a quiet country life but to have complete access to larger cities like Boston and NYC. I live on one of the prettiest streets there are. Who else lives on a street called Pumpkin Hollow Rd., cute right? Some folks like to just come and sit on the property while others enjoy it's unique proximity to all things cultural. Your choice.! Getting AroundWe are located ten minutes from Grt. Barrington for all shopping necessities. Within an hour to Wassaic and Hudson train stations for quick trips to NY. Two hours to Boston. We are also surrounded by numerous small towns which abound with farm markets, antique stores and concert and theatrical venues. Jacobs Pillow, Tanglewood and Berkshire Theatre Festival are at your doorstep. Occassionally, there might be five o'clock traffic but generally our town is very user friendly. Our shop owners are an eclectic group from all parts and are extremely helpful. Other Things to NoteAs noted there will be someone coming to tend the sheep. There are also two outdoor cats that will be tended as well.

The SpaceEnjoy your summer at a 3 bedroom/2 bath modern-rustic farmhouse on a couple acres in the cozy village of North Egremont. This house has just been renovated, and features a flea-market-chic aesthetic updated for modern lifestyles. The great country kitchen features a Subzero fridge, French Lacanche range, apron-front fireclay sink, new LG dishwasher and an antique marble-topped island. The dining room is spacious, and the cozy den has a large TV with Dish Network. Off the back porch is a large, utilitarian mudroom with sink and new LG front-load washer and dryer. The large full bath downstairs has a stand-alone claw foot tub with shower ring. The antique floors were just refinished, so they're wonderfully uneven and can snag socks - wearing slippers or bare feet is recommended. All the bedrooms are upstairs - two large bedrooms (one with queen bed, the other with two twins) and one medium-sized room with double bed - all with closets. The "vintage-sized" full bath upstairs is at the end of the hall. There are 3 window A/C units, and, of course, Wi-Fi. The cell phone carrier is AT&T, which gets the best reception here by far. A landline is available, also. Outside is our long side porch with seating, and the backyard has a beautiful stream running through it, just behind the barn. This homestead is in the village, so the house is set back about 20 feet from the road, with abundant space in the back for running, playing and lounging. The NeighborhoodWe are a young family with a love of old houses and country living. We fell in love with the Berkshires while renting a vacation home here in 2011, and we moved up from Park Slope, Brooklyn to live here full-time in 2012. We knew we wanted to live in Egremont because it is just outside Great Barrington, close to our children's private school and has a remote feeling. In the summer of 2014, we finally bought our "dream project," and we have been working tirelessly to transform this home, previously owned by the same family for 150 years, into an idyllic year-round retreat. The front two rooms of this home were built in 1835 as the first post office for the village of North Egremont. It was expanded and turned into a residence, and around 1875, it was purchased by the Boice family. Mrs. Leigh Boice received this house as a wedding present when she was 21, and she was the homemaker and homesteader, alongside her husband, on this property into her 90s! Though we have banished all of her pink "improvements" from the 1940s, we strive to honor and enjoy this home and land's rich history.

The Space5 Min Drive to downtown GREAT BARRINGTON - named #1 Best Small Town in America. **HOUSE RENTED UNTIL JULY 2016** Originally built in 1848, the house has been renovated upstairs and down. The house is light-filled; windows allow views of the gardens and back yard. DOWNSTAIRS: Front room, living room, eat-in kitchen and seasonal back room. We are in the process of winterizing the seasonal back room so that it can be fully used in the winter. One of the two fully renovated bathrooms is also on this ground floor (tub and shower both). Washer/dryer on first floor. UPSTAIRS: There are four bedrooms: the master which amply fits a king bed, a second bedroom which fits a queen bed, a third bedroom which amply fits two twin beds (or one king), and the fourth bedroom, which can fit a twin bed. The second full bathroom has also been completely renovated - it has a shower only. The house includes a fully renovation studio space in a separated barn. The barn was gutted and fully renovated, and now has reclaimed antique wooden floors, antique beams, and four windows. It's a great studio space -- we used it as a film production & editing office when we lived in the house. (No bathroom in this space) At the back of the property, at the end of a short path through the woods, is a sweet, small wooden playhouse. About The Branch House: In 1848, Orson Branch, a carriage maker, built this post-and-beam house for his new bride, Mary Ann. From this home from (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN), Orson quietly made the carriages and wagons for his neighbors. We have found pieces of his old carriages up in the woods behind the house. If you look at the hand-hewn beams in the bedrooms you can still see Orson’s ax marks. His original plank floors still run through the rooms. Interaction with GuestsWe are New Yorkers who moved to Great Barrington 4+ years ago when we realized the incredible quality of life we could have. This home was originally our weekend house, and when we first moved to the area, we lived in this house full-time for 2 years. We've since moved to a nearby house in Great Barrington. We are close by and very responsive if you need anything, but otherwise we believe in letting our tenants enjoy their home privately. The NeighborhoodThe Berkshires is full of wonderful outdoor activities and many cultural attractions, including Tanglewood, Jacob's Pillow, Berkshire Theater Festival, Shakespeare & Company, and historic sites. A short walk down our road brings you to the Appalachian Trail for hiking. Nearby, there are lots of amazing hikes (waterfalls, gorges, mountains) to explore. Terrific road biking for adults. Rail trails are 25+ minutes away. Vibrant downtown Great Barrington is less than 10 minutes away by car and includes a diversity of interesting restaurants and shops, the historic Mahaiwe Theater (music/dance/theater), the Triplex Cinema (movies), coffee houses and the organic Berkshire Food Co-Op. 5 minutes to Catamount Sk Resort; 10 minutes to Butternut Ski Resort by car. Getting AroundWhile you can walk to the center of small South Egremont (which consists of 2 restaurants, a general store, a post office, a one-room schoolhouse, one high-end ski/sports store, a second-hand consignment shop, antique shops, churches, a quilting shop, two B&Bs, and a small part-time library). But for anything else - you need a car. Other Things to NoteThe house is part of the charming South Egremont Village Historic District and is a short walk to the terrific Old Mill Restaurant, as well as Mom’s Restaurant and village shops. Our house sits on a large tree-lined plot facing a serene, beautiful tree farm so there is a sense of being connected to the village and yet having privacy.

Enjoy your summer at a 3 bedroom/2 bath modern-rustic farmhouse on two acres in the cozy village of North Egremont. This house has just been renovated, and features a flea-market-chic aesthetic updated for modern lifestyles. The great country kitchen features a Subzero fridge, French Lacanche range, apron-front fireclay sink, new LG dishwasher and an antique marble-topped island. The dining room is spacious, and the cozy den has a large TV with Dish Network and an upright grand piano. There is a hard-working wood stove and steam heat radiators, and, of course, Wi-Fi. The cell phone carrier is AT&T, which gets the best reception here by far. A landline is available, also. Outside is our long side porch with seating, and the backyard has a beautiful seasonal stream running through it, just behind the barn. We also added a 5-person hot tub by the back porch. This homestead is in the village, so the house is set back about 20 feet from the road, with abundant space in the back for running, playing and lounging. We have just planted a courtyard of many small fruit bushes in the front yard (not ready to pick until summer 2017), and we have 8 chickens living in their chicken coop, fenced in with wire. We will have a caretaker coming by every couple of days just to water and feed the chickens.
