The SpaceThe base price is for 2 people for the forward Pullman cabin with head and shower. This is a lovely spacious and airy cabin with room to lounge around, nap and relax. Another queen berth cabin, aft, with its own head and shower is available for 1 or 2 more people for an additional $125 per night. Nantucket harbor is pretty unique and stretches all the way from Town to Wauwinet Harbor. Topper's restaurant offers a launch ride to and from town if you eat at their Wauwinet House restaurant. There are numerous beaches inside the harbor as well as on the north and South shores of the island. Its not for people who want to be crushed in the noisy bar scenes, but there's nothing to stop one doing that and returning to the seclusion of the boat afterwards! Guest AccessA large (by boat standards) double cabin, shower, cooking stove and refrigerator (shared) TV/DVD player, radio etc. Shared use of main salon and cockpit for eating, hanging out, etc. Shared in this case means with the owner, who is sometimes on board, not with other guests. Basically if you book the main cabin on the boat, you have the run of the boat and facilities. No other guests will be on the boat unless you invited them. Interaction with GuestsIf I'm on the boat I'll play it by ear as to how much my guests want to interact. The forward cabin gives guests privacy just to hang out and be alone if they choose. But boats are small intimate spaces so consideration for all on board is a must. Its also my home so please treat with respect. I love to meet new people and swap stories of places far and near over a glass of wine. But Nantucket has hundreds of things to do and visit so get out there and enjoy and use the boat as your base. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is downtown Nantucket and all its attractions. There is always something going on close by. Its physically a very beautiful place full of shingled and brick buildings, amazingly well tended gardens hidden away on side streets and beautiful yachts and power boats in the harbor. Downtown Nantucket is very close to walk to either from the dock or the Harbor Launch, and is full of interesting shops and gourmet restaurants. Starlight Theater is reasonably priced good food and movies too. For more upscale dining there are dozen's of good restaurants, but its usually worth calling ahead to see how busy they are and if you need a reservation. Town and Queqegs restaurant are both close to the movie theater and library park and if you like fresh Sushi, Yoshi's restaurant is close by. Getting AroundTaxis are located at the top of the parking lot above the supermarket. Rental cars are in town or at the airport. Bicycles and scooters are very popular and can be rented right in town. There is a good public bus sytem that runs (MAY- OCTOBER) from town about a 5 minute walk away from the Straight Wharf dock. Air-conditioned buses go to most parts of the island and many of the beaches for 1 or 2 dollars. The visitors center is also located in town on Federal St and there are private shuttle buses that run to Cisco Brewers, a very popular brewery/farm in near Cisco, that run every hour. Music, food, beer wine and spirits available there. Other Things to NoteThe visitors centre and the Chamber of Commerce both have a wealth of information about what to see and do on Nantucket. The water in summer is warm enough to swim in and guests have been known to jump off the back of the boat and get refreshed.

The Space1724 is an 8-bedroom house that comfortably accomodates two or more families near the town and beaches. Our grandmother's summer home has been featured in many books about classic Nantucket whaling-era houses. Besides modern conveniences, little has been changed over the years, so staying at 1724 evokes three centuries of Nantucket history. We maintain 1724 to be safe, comfortable and appealing as a rustically gracious retreat for family and friends, who appreciate its convenience to town, beaches and buses - and the fact that it's not in the middle of downtown summer crowds, noise and traffic. Jethro Coffin, who built the Oldest House on Sunset Hill in 1686, had this house built for his son Josiah in 1724. It is probably the oldest house in Nantucket town that is still standing on its original foundation. The house stayed in the Coffin family, their descendants and relatives, until 1925, when it was purchased by the family of the present owners. It has been maintained in close to the original condition for the past 280 years, although plumbing, electricity and a kitchen wing were added in the 19th century and a small bedroom wing in the 20th. The house is widely illustrated in books about Nantucket, such as Early Nantucket and its Whale Houses, by Henry Chandlee Foreman, where it is pictured on the front cover, and Robert Gambee’s 2001 Nantucket Impressions, as well as his earlier books on Nantucket. Interior description: A centerpiece of the house is the huge central chimney with five working fireplaces, including one which may be the largest on the island. The living room centers around this "sit in" fireplace. The large dining room has a table that can seat 12 plus a large working fireplace. Behind the living room is the winter kitchen with fireplace, now used as a sitting room with a small study adjoining it. Above the living and dining rooms there are two large master bedrooms. Each has a double bed, a single bed, and a working fireplace. One of these has a private bath, while the other shares a bath with a third bedroom (with single bed) overlooking the garden. The third floor has a small bath and two more simple bedrooms, one with two single beds, one with one single bed. The kitchen wing has a large kitchen (connected to the dining room by a pantry well-stocked with dishes), plus a bathroom with shower, and a ground- floor bedroom with a double bed. On the second floor of this wing are two more bedrooms, one with two single beds, the other with a single bed. Also in the kitchen wing is a large utility room that contains a washer/dryer, a second refrigerator, and ample storage shelves. The kitchen wing makes an ideal place for children to live separate from their parents, or for staff. Interaction with GuestsWe do not hover. It's your house while you're in it. The SpaceWhat makes our space unique is the separate entrance to the house and the level of hospitality and cleanliness we provide. I personally make sure the room is sparkling clean for all of our guests, provide snacks, water, wine, beach towels and chairs, coffee (Keurig is in the room), muffins, and all the maps, guides and brochures you need to inform yourself about the island while you're here! The room also has a fridge in it and there is access to a microwave just outside the door. We find that our guests really enjoy having privacy on their vacation so we try to equip the room with everything they need so they don't need to ask for anything! Guest AccessGuests will have access to the room only, but are free to use our beach chairs and there is a fridge outside the room where we will have a chilled bottle of wine waiting for them. Interaction with GuestsWe are a friendly family but typically do not have a lot of interaction with our guests because they are not entering and leaving through our house. But we are more than happy to chat about the island if they're interested! The NeighborhoodIt is a residential neighborhood in the downtown. A 5 minute walk to Main Street, so we never need to drive into Town and search for parking! We love meandering the historic streets and looking at the names of houses and admiring the architecture, as many of the homes were built before the Civil War. Getting AroundYes, actually!
