The SpaceIt's located on the second floor of one of the oldest flatiron buildings in the United States. However, when entering at the Church St. entrance, there's just one step and the entrance to the building is right next to the Unit's entrance. It's a very unique unit... The Condo looks-out on to both sides of the Flatiron building (Church St. and Eagle St.)! Note: The Unit is located in the downtown area of North Adams. It's a Flatiron (triangular building). There is a street on each side of the Flatiron. It's located among shops and restaurants, etc. At times, it can be a little noisy. With a queen-size bed, anda twin-sized fold-up beds (hotel styled), the Unit can sleep up to 3 people. There is no additional charge for up to 3 people. History Existing flatiron buildings in the United States date back to the 1800s with the first built in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. The most popular buildings today are the Gooderham Building, built in Toronto in 1892; the English-American building in Atlanta, built in 1897; and the most famous, the Fuller Building of Manhattan, built in 1902. San Francisco, Fort Worth, Chicago and Portland, Oregon, also have fine examples of flatiron architecture. These buildings have been designated as historic landmarks. Function Flatiron buildings serve two goals: They employ efficient use of otherwise unused space for residential and/or commercial purposes and give business districts a specific architectural identity. Identification Surviving flatiron buildings are found on wedge-shaped lots usually in the center of a city's business district or older neighborhoods and offer examples of classic 19th-century style. Fun Fact Manhattan's Fuller Building is a popular venue for movies, including the comic-book Spider-Man series, which used the flatiron as headquarters for the fictional "Daily Bugle" newspaper offices. Guest AccessAll guests will have access to free wireless internet. Other than the front door entrance and stairs, no amenities are shared with other units. In fact, due to the location within the building, the entrance to this unit is away from all other units on the first floor. It's fun and there's a lot of privacy!!! Interaction with GuestsWe will be available to meet-up with guests, provide them with their key and show them the Unit. The preferred check in time would be no later than 6 pm. After that, unless there is an unforeseen issue, it's our goal to leave guests alone and ensure lots of privacy. However, always feel free to ask about the area. We'll be happy to answer any and all questions. Thank you! The NeighborhoodThere are numerous art galleries, restaurants, churches, a gym, a movie theater, MCLA, Mass Moca, a grocery store, drug stores, parks, a post office all within walking distance. The views of the mountains and all of the history surrounding North Adams makes it a wonderful place to live at and visit! Getting AroundParking: The best place to park is a block south on Eagle St. There’s a big parking lot next to the post office you can park at anytime. We’ve been directing our guests there with no complaints. There is also metered parking by the building that is free at night and on Sundays. There is public bus transportation. However, everything is in very close proximity to walk to. You'll LOVE the convenience! Other Things to NotePlease note that there are many, many things to do within the Berkshires. In addition, scenic Vermont is just a 5 to 10 minute ride away.

The SpaceRecently restored, this is a sun-filled upper apt in an 1880 Victorian. Wake up to mountain views from the kitchen, bedrooms and porch. The bathroom is newly renovated. The kitchen is fully stocked and has all new appliances (we kept the old porcelain double sink...) There are 3 bedrooms: A queen bedroom; a king bedroom (with a daybed that could sleep another person); and a twin bedroom. There is a roomy living room, eat-in kitchen and a porch. The apt has a separate entrance from the main house and is the entire upstairs. Please Note: If needed, this listing can accommodate another couple in a full-sized bedroom. It would be on the same floor as your apt and it is bright and sunny and sweet. It is off the back staircase. Additional charge: $20/person/night. Guest AccessGuests have access to the complete upstairs apt with separate entrance. There is wifi and a fully stocked kitchen. Interaction with GuestsI love meeting anyone who travels through North Adams and stays at the house. I am often downstairs (in my apt, separate from yours) or gardening. I also could be hiking or biking but I'm always available by phone / text / email. The NeighborhoodHistorically, North Adams was a bustling industrial metropolis. Today it is an artist's town full of galleries, artist studios and the awesomely great Mass MoCA right in downtown. Our area offers hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, summer rafting, zip lining, fishing, antiquing, galleries and world-class museums. The Appalachian Trail runs through the town; have dinner on top of Mt. Greylock at Bascom Lodge, swim at Windsor Lake right up the road. There's the Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Clark, Williams College and its Art Museum are minutes away. Vermont is right up the road. Getting AroundThe house is within walking distance of downtown with its abundance of art galleries, restaurants and antiques. Williams College is 10 minute drive; MCLA is 2 blocks from the house; and Mass MoCA is a 10 minute walk. There is parking on the private driveway and curbside in front of the house. Other Things to NoteDIRECTIONS AND PARKING Sometimes GPS just doesn't work like good old fashioned directions. So, to get to the house from Main Street: Go to the end of Main Street in town where the statue of the soldier is. Make a right onto Church Street. Go down Church Street. The 3rd Street on your left is Windom Terrace, but the street sign is gone. Not to worry, go to the next street, Elmwood, and make a left. Go to the end of the block and make a left at the "T". A big green house is on your left. Cars park in front. Then there is a long driveway (that's mine). And then a tan, big Victorian. That's the house! Feel free to park in the driveway but stay towards the top because you'll be closer to your entrance (a reddish door) which is: 25 Dover Street.

Also, the backyard has 2 firepits, grill and a picnic table.... Any number of guests is acceptable if needed! Interaction with GuestsWhenever you need me :) I work 9:30-8 pm M-F. My husband works from home so if needed he can go over information and give some pointers and tips of the area :) Or arrangements can be made for keys, if arriving at more difficult times - whichever one is easier for you works for me !! :-) The NeighborhoodI live on the end of a deadend street in an apartment ... My neighbors are great and there is a huge backyard with great mountain views!!!! I also love the firepits !!!! The backyard has a camping feel and it's wonderful.... Landscaping is in the making. The SpaceThis is an older home in town, situated on the side of Hill overlooking the older architectural homes of North Adams and a mountain view beyond. I own the building but live on the top floor unit, the Guest Room is on the same floor as my room. There are numerous pictures posted, please do take a look at them. The apartment is basically the 4 original upstairs bedrooms of the old one family home. Two remain bedrooms, one the kitchen and one the TV/sitting room. While the two bedroom entrances are close to one another, there are closets in between and no common walls. Noise does not carry between the rooms. There is also an outside private entrance to the Guest Room which can be used if desired for more privacy. The bedroom doors can be seen in the picture posted as "hall looking toward bedrooms". I am quiet and tend to stay mostly in my room, which has all the comforts I need, when I have guests. Please take a look at the numerous reviews. Thanks so much, Jack (my nickname) Guest AccessNear many hiking trails and the access road to the summit of Mount Greylock. Mass MoCA and the Clark Museum. Half hour from Pittsfield and Southern Berkshires, and one half hour north to Bennington VT. Interaction with GuestsI tend to interact as much or a little as guests might desire, I'm most happy to answer questions about the area. The NeighborhoodThe story of North Adams, the demise of the mills and factories in the 80's and 90's and the rebirth through the arts, anchored by Mass MoCA is the story here. Of course the nature has always been abundant here. A must see is the top of Mount Greylock, about a 20 minute scenic drive from Route 2. Bennington VT. half hour to the north on Route 7 has some nice covered bridges and the Benningtom Monument which has a great view from the tip Getting AroundMostly a car is needed. 5 Minute walk to MCLA. 15 Minute Walk to MassMoCA Other Things to NotePlease note that the map provided by Airbnb is incorrect. Yale Street Intersects with Winter Street. Yale Street is only two blocks long, but on the map provided by Airbnb, One block of Yale Street is incorrectly identified as Winter Street. Once booked, click on your itinerary, and under house rules, you will find driving directions from Downtown to the house.

The SpaceWe are situated on the Eastern slope of Mt. Greylock. The road to the summit lies directly behind the house. The house is built snugly into the side of the mountain. The Garden Suite is at ground level on a slope overlooking the Mohawk Trail and the City of North Adams. We are a ten minute walk to Mass MoCA and a five minute drive to the trails on and around Mt. Greylock. (15 to the summit) The apartment is quiet, clean, cozy and private. Mid-century modern decor with vintage fittings chosen to suit the space. Old-school cable TV and DVD player. Quiet. The house has one apartment on every floor. The suite resembles an earth sheltered home, the house is built snugly into the side of the mountain - comfortable in temperatures ranging from below freezing to 90F. We do have a pull-out bed in the living room and we are happy to offer it to families of four or five who are passing through town for a night and need the space for their older children. Except in the case of twins, we do not host families with multiple toddlers, Sorry. The exterior of the house is the last thing we will be renovating. The house is like a geode, very humble outside and lovely inside. There is no curb appeal. Please read our reviews to see what our guests love about staying here but please read our listing to see if you will feel the same way. We have restored and renovated the apartment in keeping with how it would have been used during the peak of its lifetime. That means, decor is quirky, fifties inspired with 1960's touches. However, we are tech-dependent so there is also a Bose bluetooth speaker and excellent wifi. The bathroom is a full bathroom with a good shower, very hot water, not suitable for children or the absent-minded, great water pressure, a dedicated hot water tank which means plenty of hot water. Plumbing has been updated, the sink and toilet are new. We have kept the old tub. It's a deep, rough, porcelain tub and we like it. Please leave the root touch up kit at home, the tub can't take it. Typical of the area. Vintage style. Cozy, small but fully equipped, kitchen, bathroom, living room, indoor porch, large outdoor porch. Bedrooms are small. No microwave. (there will never be a microwave - please don't ask.) No dishwasher. Please don't fry food like fish and bacon or sausages in the apartment - the smell is very difficult to eradicate and what may smell delicious to you can be a problem for others. If you need something in the apartment and cannot find it, call us. We can't help you if you don't ask. The time to ask is while you are in residence, not after your trip. NO SMOKING NO SMOKING NO SMOKING NO SMOKING No Vaping either. Guest AccessAccess is via a steep, grassy path. There is also a flight of concrete stairs coming up from the street in front of the suite but as there is no parking on that street, we use the path. You have full use of the suite, there is also a shared laundry room available. Around the house you will see traces of an abundance of wildlife. We live with them, they are part of our extended family, please show them the respect you would show any other resident. They are part of the package. We are on the edge of the forest, animals make their homes in our neighborhood. Please do not feed the wildlife. Everything is in balance here and we'd like to keep it that way - they have their own food and it is better for them. We are entirely pesticide and herbicide free. The garden sometimes looks shaggy. You may catch a glimpse of the bunny who lives under the porch or the possum family that comes and goes from around the mountain or the resident skunks who forage for moles and ticks at night. There are deer, there are occasionally bears. Please be kind to them, give them their space and they will not bother you. Interaction with GuestsWe use a passcode lock system. On the day of your arrival, at check-in time, you will receive your unique passcode. It will work on all of your doors until check-out time on the day of your departure. Check-ins are usually self-check. We are available to answer any questions via the Airbnb app on your phone or tablet. We are often around the house but it is doubtful you will see us unless we plan to meet each other. Sometimes we meet our guests upon arrival. That is generally the first and last time you'll see us but we're always available by text. Children are people. All children at every age. Children count as guests. Please include them in your guest count. This is a humble but magical place to stay, we want to share it with folks who can appreciate both aspects. The NeighborhoodNorth Adams is unlike any other town in the Berkshires. We are tiny and humble. We're awkward. The nature around our town is gorgeous but the city itself has been depressed for the last 30 years. However, the population and the energy in Northern Berkshire county is the youngest in the area. We're the locus of new energy in the Berkshires. The opposite of Lenox. We have the hottest, hippest music scene in the County, and maybe in the whole region - better than Northampton, South County, Vermont, Connectiucut and most of upstate NY. Bands love to come here. Solid Sound takes place here every two years. We have more visual arts and performance events in North Adams than cities ten times the size. Upcoming concerts include Magnetic Fields, Eisa Davis, Big Thief, Dinosaur Jr, and Juarez at Mass MoCA. We are Greylock adjacent, there are 70 miles of hiking trails on our doorstep, literally. J.K. Rowling recently set the North American School for Magic here - there is good reason for that. This used to be the Italian/Jewish quarter when North Adams was a larger city, we're not fancy. We're old school funky. We prefer it that way. Please be sure you are comfortable with a community built on diverse economic profiles before you decide to come to North Adams. We are not South County. Getting AroundPublic transport is spotty but possible. Check our reviews for details. If you bring a bicycle, please leave it in the three-season porch. Other Things to NoteThere are two ways to get to the Summit of Mt. Greylock, one is in Lanesborough and the other is on our doorstep. If Ilvamorny were a real place, this would be the gatekeeper's house. The footpath to Mass MoCA is at the end of Furnace Street. It leads directly to Main Street, MoCA is around the corner. You cannot drive there as easily as you can walk. Local visitor information and North Adams Museum are just down the hill in the Western Gateway Park. Feel free to email us about anything you'd like to know. We prefer the Airbnb app for guest communication. Please bear in mind, we are on Eastern Daylight Time, unless you have a catastrophe that only we can solve, please message us during civilized hours. (that is, between 8:00 a.m. and midnight Eastern Daylight time - same time zone as Boston, New York and Philadelphia) Phone calls for emergencies only please.

The Space"like having a luxurious sleepover in a natural history museum"...Zachariah (Guest) Freemans Grove Benevolent Society (FGBS) is an 1890s three family tenement house, one of three identical houses on the rather steep North Holden Street. Your Airbnb accommodation is the third floor apartment of the blueish house at the top of the hill. I purchased these three houses in 1999 in condemnable condition: they were never fancy, and are still a little rough. The original intent was just simple apartments for the mill workers. Of note, you'll find a stereo in the living room under the television for your listening pleasure. We do not subscribe to cable television, but we do get two or three channels from Albany for what that's worth. There is an 1/8" audio plug if you'd like to hear music from your laptop or phone. Set the input on the receiver to "CD" for the connection. There are speakers all throughout the apartment. There is also a Chromecast connection if you use that app. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need assistance! The floor plan is mostly open (doorless) to accommodate heat circulation during the colder months, sheer curtains on the bedroom. There is a Wooden Sign in the Kitchen "Welcome to the Dragon House" Read more here (URL HIDDEN) Guest AccessYou are welcome to use any space in the third floor apartment. The backdoor, which is the private entrance for the apartment, is accessed via a spiral staircase at the back of the house. Interaction with GuestsJust ask! We'll be happy to help with anything... within reason. Getting AroundIf all else fails or after Nov. 1st, North Adams does have a winter parking ban, there are empty lots at the bottom of North Holden St. people park in. Other Things to NoteThere is Street parking on Hall St. . Occasionally, there may be a single spot located next to the house. Please do not park too close to the intersection of North Holden and Hall. ANd be sure an leave a space for my neighbor to park Directly in front of his house, he's been parking there his whole life as well as his father and his father before that..We are also happy to greet you upon arrival and direct you to the best spot to park.

The SpacePlease Note: During the week of Sep 26 - Oct 4 I will be at an art residency with no cell service. If you have a booking inquiry, please inquire on Oct 4th and I will get right back to you later that day or next morning. (If you inquire during a time when I can't answer within 24 hrs, my response rating goes down and that would be a shame! Thank you for understanding!) This is a charming and cozy old Victorian. It sleeps a queen bedroom and can accommodate a single person (or a cozy couple) in the small full-sized futon bedroom. There is a full kitchen, pantry, sun room, back porch, living room, dining room and piano room. Guest AccessGuests have access to the entire space. There are 2 fireplaces but please, no fires allowed (and besides, it's summer!) There's wireless wifi but no tv. We actually designed the house to be as free of digital as possible so that the house offers time for reading, writing, conversation, music, puzzles -- you know, old-school relaxing. Interaction with GuestsI'm around either in person or via text, phone or email. My feeling is you are here to enjoy your vacation, if you need me, I'll be there, otherwise, enjoy. The NeighborhoodNorth Adams has some of the most beautiful houses anywhere. The city fell on hard times in the 70s-80s but back in its day it was a world-class industrial hub. There was a train in town that connected North Adams to Boston, NYC and Albany! Take a walk around and imagine the energy that used to flow through this place. And if you're up for it, consider joining the scene. Imagine North Adams all dressed up? Getting AroundDIRECTIONS AND PARKING Sometimes GPS just doesn't work like good old fashioned directions. Feel free to park in the driveway but there may be other cars parked there too. If you want to park curbside right in front of the house, that's fine too. Looking at the house: to the right is a small side porch. That is your entrance. 48 Windom Terrace. Other Things to NoteI'd like to note, that this is an old Victorian with thin walls so if there are guests upstairs, you will probably hear them walking around. I can't say that any guests have been too boisterous, generally they are considerate couples who are in town to enjoy some art, music, relaxation, hiking, so the tone is mellow.

The SpaceIt's the top-floor of one of the oldest flatiron buildings in the United States. In addition, it's the most unique unit within the building. The Unit starts right at the point of where the Flatiron begins! Note: The Unit is located in the downtown area of North Adams. It's a Flatiron (triangular building). There is a street on each side of the Flatiron. It's located among shops and restaurants, etc. At times, it can be a little noisy. With a queen-size bed, a futon couch bed and a fold-up twin bed available upon request, the Unit can sleep up to 4 people. However, for the purpose of comfort, we strongly recommend no more than 2 individuals. Interaction with GuestsWe will be available to meet-up with guests, provide them with their key and show them the Unit. It would be best if check-in is no later than 6 PM. After that, unless there is an unforseen issue, it's our goal to leave guests alone and ensure lots of privacy. It is a short drive to the top of the highest mountain in Massachusetts, Mt. Greylock and you can go hiking, fishing or boating right from our doorstep. We are also a short drive from the Berkshire Mall, Pittsfield, Lenox, Stockbridge and Lee. You can enjoy all of what the Berkshires and Southern Vermont has to offer from this spectacular location and still be less than 3 hours from either Boston or New York City. We have parking for two cars and you can walk to the local library (1 mile) or to the college (1/2 mile). If you like to bike, the scenic Ashuwilticook Rail Trail is about 5 miles away in Adams, Massachusetts. You will ride along the Hoosic River, through stunning wetlands, and along Cheshire Lake if you venture the full length of the trail to Lanesborough. There are adventure parks with zip lines and other challenges close by at Jiminy Peak, Berkshire East and Zoar Outdoor. There truly is something for everyone in this amazing area.

The SpaceI strive to keep a tidy, cozy, friendly home. I have lived in the area for over fifteen years and know Williamstown and North Adams well enough to make recommendations about the area. I am happy to live nearby to MASS MoCA, which is a wonderful resource in the community. Guest AccessGuests are welcome to use the kitchen, living rooms and both bathrooms, as well as the television room and movie collection. Interaction with GuestsThis is my home, so I will be in the house during your stay. How much interaction we have is up to you! My tendency is to give guests space, but I am happy to chat or answer questions or offer recommendations about the area. The NeighborhoodNorth Adams is an old factory town transitioning from its industrial history into a cultural mecca, anchored by the contemporary arts giant, MASS MoCA. My neighborhood is centrally located, friendly, and very working class. Getting AroundNorth Adams is very walkable. Public buses are available for an easy trip to neighboring Williamstown (home of the Clark Art Museum, Williams College, the Williamstown Theatre Festival). The SpacePlease note: we communicate through the Airbnb platform (either through a computer or with the Airbnb mobile app on a smart phone). If this is a problem for you, please book elsewhere. We have designed the space to be comfortable, gracious and welcoming to those who work in the arts and humanities and who normally may not be able to afford a high end boutique hotel. We offer a more gracious experience than the high-end hotels in the area with better views, in a quieter, more private, neighborhood. And we offer this at half the price. We do this because this is how we like to travel. Our space is private, tasteful, well appointed, down-to-earth and comfortable. Linens are fresh, clean, good quality and coordinated. Kitchen is well equipped and stocked with basic condiments. Renovated and restored, mid-century modern style. Sustainable design, vintage 70's, Scandanavian-modern influenced with some country touches. All carefully chosen, with contemporary improvements where extra comfort is needed - floating bamboo floors, wide selection of vintage and contemporary coffee making equipment, blue tooth speaker, excellent wifi. Two beds only. One full, one queen. Guest AccessThe apartment encompasses the second story of our 100 year-old house. If you are new to Airbnb, please do your research on the area and read our listing. We are not a hotel. This is more like borrowing a friend's apartment - - very personal. We have recently installed a book-nook in the small bedroom, we find it charming and hope you will too. Although we do expect you to be reasonably quiet, the suite is well removed from the other apartments in the house and has both the room and the sound space to practice acoustic instruments, (if you're here as a musician for Tanglewood or Bang on a Can). It is entirely private. Guests have the whole apartment and one attached porch for their exclusive use. Check-in anytime after 5:00 p.m. Please bear in mind, we are on Eastern Daylight Time, when you send a message, it rings through on our phones. We are generally asleep between the hours of midnight and eight a.m. EDT. Please do not message us between the hours of midnight and 8:00 a.m Eastern Daylight Time (Unless, God forbid, you have done something catastrophic in the apartment.) Otherwise, we are always available via the Airbnb mobile app to answer any questions or concerns. Interaction with GuestsSometimes we meet our guests but we are independent and expect you are too - that is why we offer a self-check-in. Arrive at your leisure. You will receive instructions for entering the apartment at 5:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival. We are always available through the Airbnb app on your phone. Save the voice calls for your mother. The NeighborhoodThe house is built into the side of the mountain. The neighborhood surrounds one of two ascents to the summit of Mt. Greylock. Mt. Greylock offers 70 miles of hiking trails. There are many others in the area, the brochures in the suite are a good starting place for your hiking plans. There are too many options to list here. Do you want to come to North Adams? We are in North Adams. If you want to go to Lenox, please book in Lenox - same goes for Williamstown, Stockbridge or Great Barrington. Berkshire County is small but diverse, every town has its own flavor. Please talk to us about the flavor of Northern Berkshire County, we are not like South County so the stereotypes of mild, sweet, gentility do not apply. We are in North Adams, in the old Jewish/Italian quarter. We are on the slope of the approach to the summit of Mount Greylock. If Ilvamorny was a real place, this would be the gatekeeper's house. The house is a short stroll from Western Gateway Park, MASS MoCA (the largest contemporary art museum in the U.S.A.) and downtown, with sweeping views of the Hoosic River Valley, with the Mohawk Trail and the City of North Adams. The thing people love the most and dislike the most is our location. That is, of course, the one thing we cannot change for you. Getting AroundPublic transit is sporadic but available in North Adams. Most people use a car. Bicycling is efficient and fun for advanced cyclists but not for novices. We are in the mountains. Runners will find plenty of places to run both in North Adams and in Williamstown. The town running track and the town's baseball diamond are just down the hill from our house. The Northern Berkshire Scenic Rail line is also just down the hill from our house. Sometimes you can hear train whistles. Other Things to NotePlease be sure you want to come to North Adams. North Adams is not like Lenox or Stockbridge, we are not cutsey, we are pretty real. The house is our pet project, we are constantly improving the exterior. If external glamor is important to you, our house is a bad fit. We offer some of our guests admission to the Clark Art Institute at no extra cost, just ask. Read the listing. Everything you need to know is here. Food in the kitchen is mostly organic and local. Please avoid cooking meat in the suite, especially bacon. Stairs? Yes. Parking? Yes. (On the street May to October; on the front yard - which we are paving, reluctantly, from November to April) Dishwasher? No Coffee makers, coffee? Yes Smoking? Vaping? NO Dogs? Cats? No. Air conditioning? No. Microwave? No. Porch? Yes. View? Yes. Quiet? Yes. Parties/Events? No. We are a great fit for travelers interested in history, writers looking for a place to work while on vacation, readers, artists, hikers, nature and museum fans. We are not a great fit for wedding guests. If you are here visiting relatives or attending a wedding, please book a hotel. Our cleaning fee covers the cost of cleaning up before your arrival. It covers stocking the kitchen, cleaning the bathroom, making beds, washing floors, changing locks, cleaning the glass furniture, and things of that nature. A hotel chambermaid spends 20 minutes cleaning a room. By contrast, we spend most of the day shopping, cleaning and ensuring the apartment is in perfect condition. This fee is applied once for every booking because we like a clean place to stay, therefore we do not skimp. The cleaning fee is non-negotiable.

The SpaceWhat makes this place unique are the view and the location. Both are as good as you're going to get from any listing in or around North Adams, Adams, and Williamstown. The views are simply stunning: you can enjoy a coffee looking out at miles and miles of mountain views, wind turbines can be spotted along the ridge to the Northeast; you also look directly out onto downtown NAMA's Main Street and Mass MoCA (both only a 2-minute walk away), with the steeples of the city's churches poking up through. You really get a sense of how nestled into the valley this little city is. You'll just have to just see for yourself. The apartment itself is a very spacious, newly-updated two-bedroom unit. There is an open-concept kitchen and dining area, a living room, a bathroom, a deck, and two bedrooms (plus a couch and an extra mattress for the floor, if need be). The master bedroom as an A/C unit in the window. The kitchen/dining room, living room, and deck all have views of the city, Mass MoCA, and the mountains. The apartment is colorfully/whimsically decorated with our take on mid-century modern: we have an herb garden and plants growing inside and on the deck; the kitchen island and coffee table are hand made (the coffee table glass pane is from the construction of the Guggenheim museum's glass facade); and all the art on the walls have a story (search for: 'gathered, bound, and woven'). Were happy to have you. Everyone deserves to sip a drink and drink in these views of the Berkshires! Guest AccessGuests have access through the main door, only a few feet from the two available parking spaces. There is additional parking across the street if needed. Interaction with GuestsKatie and I are out-of-town most weekends and rarely meet our guests in-person. However, we are very communicative throughout the duration of our guests's stay and try to make ourselves available for any questions our guests may have. The NeighborhoodNAMA is a wonderful little city tucked into the Purple Valley. Between the two colleges, the wonderful outdoor recreation offerings, and the prominent art scene and major museums, there is a lot to discover within only a few minutes walking of the apartment. Getting AroundAround here, a car can get you anywhere fast. That being said, because this apartment is so centrally located, you can easily ditch the car and walk to all of downtown NAMA (shops, coffee, bars, restaurants, and groceries), Mass MoCA, MCLA, and more. Other Things to NoteA cat does live in this apartment, but she stays with friends when we have guests. The apartment cleans up nicely and stays pretty un-catty. We have had guests with cat allergies and it hasn't been a problem.

There are 2 bedrooms with queen size beds and a sofa bed that opens up to queen size as well. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, dishes and everything needed to cook a full meal or just a quick breakfast. There are some basic foods like oatmeal, granola, pasta, etc. if you're feeling too tired to go out for a meal. Also, american coffee, espresso coffee as well as tea is provided. Guest AccessThe entire apartment, which is over 900 sq. ft., is yours to enjoy with a front porch with bench and back porch with folding chairs on which to relax. Interaction with GuestsWe live on the 2nd floor so we will be there to greet you and help you with anything that you need The NeighborhoodHistorically, North Adams was a bustling industrial metropolis. Today it is an artist's town full of galleries, artist studios and the awesomely great Mass MoCA right in downtown. Our area offers hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, white water rafting, zip lining, fishing, antiquing, galleries and world-class museums. The Appalachian Trail runs through the town; have dinner on top of Mt. Greylock at Bascom Lodge, swim at Windsor Lake right up the road. There's the Williamstown Theatre Festival, The Clark, Williams College and its Art Museum are all minutes away. Vermont is right up the road with Mount Snow roughly 45 minutes away. Jiminy Peak is only 30 minutes away. Tanglewood & Jacobs Pillow are both about 1 hour away as is the Berkshire Botanical Gardens. For tickets to some of these venues the day of the event you may be able to get them for 1/2 price. ½ TIX Hotline at (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) or visit (URL HIDDEN) for daily updates. Other Things to Note: DIRECTIONS AND PARKING Sometimes GPS just doesn't work like good old fashioned directions. So, to get to the house from Main Street: Go to the end of Main Street in town where the statue of the soldier is. Make a right onto Church Street. Go down Church Street. The 3rd Street on your left is Windom Terrace, but the street sign is hard to see since there's a utility pole right in front of it. Not to worry, go to the next street, Elmwood, and make a left. Go to the end of the block at Dover St and make a left at the "T". Go to the next intersection, cross it and the white house on the corner on your right is your destination. Driveway is on the Dover St. side. Drive straight in and park. You will recognize the house from the photo. Other Things to NoteFree high speed wireless internet and cell phone booster. The TV is internet only (no cable) with ROKU programming & Netflix. There USB chargers in the living room & both bedrooms. For those with young children, there is a pack & play in the back bedroom as well as a bed rail. In the hall closet there is high chair and toys & books appropriate for young children are in the back bedroom.

The SpaceCome join me in my new home! The house was built in 1882 by a local shop owner and his wife. The house was fully renovated in 2011. Located next to the Town Library and is 5 minutes walk to downtown and its' galleries, restaurants, shops, and MA MoCA. Please ask about renting entire property for events, etc. Guest AccessRelax on any of the porches, overlooking the town and it's many church steeples. Feel free to use the yard with fire pit. You'll have parking and plenty of room to spread out. You are welcome to use the fridge to keep beverages cold and can help yourself to coffee/tea. Interaction with GuestsI work often, but with an irregular schedule. I'm available if you'd like area info or a chat! I have a quiet, friendly little dog named Joey who will likely come in and sniff and kiss you if you let him. If you aren't a dog fan, he'll be out of sight. I do allow certain dogs too, but please ask before booking as a pet fee will apply. I can also help with restaurant reservations or setting up events.

The SpaceThis is not normally not an AIRBnB space. The house recently became empty and is getting ready for a permanent tenant. We are making it available for Fresh Grass as their is a need for local accommodations. Nothing fancy - just a dry place to sleep and have a hot shower.

The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is quiet and scenic. There is open space across from our house that is owned by a neighbor but adds a park-like feel to the street. You can walk downtown in 5-10 minutes depending where you need to go. Getting AroundPublic transport can be found on Main Street - a short walk from here. There is a beautiful rail trail 10 minutes away starting at the Visitor's Center in Adams. It is 10.8 miles long and runs from Adams to Lanesborough via Cheshire Lake. On of the nicest rail trails we've ridden!
