Nothing separates you from the ocean except for other Surfside Cottages and scrub pines. This beachside community is made up of 17 detached cottages, located on 3 acres of land, adjacent to LeCount Hollow Beach (aka Maguire’s Landing) on the Atlantic Ocean. The “Beach Walk” is a short 1/10th mile to the beach. LeCount Hollow Beach is known for its surfing, fishing, “boogie boarding," swimming, and miles of unending sandy beach.
Just around the corner (1/2 mi), the Cape Cod Rail Trail, an off-road bike trail, offers 26 miles of walking, biking, roller blading, etc. At the end of LeCount Hollow Rd, you will also find a delicious bakery and French Bistro (PB Boulangerie) and “General Store” with all the essentials - food, wine, beer, firewood, bike, and surfboard rentals.
A large portion of Wellfleet is comprised of the Cape Cod National Seashore, which gives us miles of pristine beaches and densely wooded forests with walking, biking, and kayaking in the tidal flats. There are more than 13 town beaches with water amenities of all types on 4 kinds of water bodies - the Atlantic Ocean, the freshwater Kettle Ponds, Wellfleet Harbor, and Cape Cod Bay. In addition, within 3 miles you may enjoy Wellfleet’s Audubon reserve, movie theaters, a vintage drive-in movie theater, the Wellfleet flea-market, live theater and concerts, weekly craft fairs, art shows and galleries, mini-golf, and lots of great local restaurants.
Wellfleet town center is about 3 miles away with shops, 26 art galleries, and many wonderful restaurants. As a fishing village with some of the best fish, clams, scallops, and oysters in the world, the fresh seafood fare is always a favorite. Local offerings in the town pier area during the summer include square dancing, open air Shakespeare, Music at Mayo Beach, original/live theater at WHAT (Wellfleet Harbor Actors Theater), and Saturday night Art Gallery artist openings (26 local galleries). You can relax by the beach or fill your week with happenings that are all close by.
