The SpaceMy husband and I are founders of the HeartWell Institute - a nonprofit, urban retreat center that hosts diverse wellness workshops, retreats, trainings and classes. We seek to maintain a peaceful and positive environment so that all our guests feel relaxed and at home. The first floor of the house is dedicated to HeartWell and our programs. During your stay, we may be hosting programs/events. The second and third floors have beautiful rooms that are reserved for retreat or Airbnb guests.
This private room is on the third floor of the house and comes with a full-size bed and a twin size bed, comfy lounge chair, window AC, fresh linens and towels, and plenty of closet/bureau space. There is a desk immediately outside your room for your convenience, and a full bathroom on this floor, which may be shared with guests from the other room (if occupied).
The bathroom has all the essentials you will need (shampoo, soap, toothpaste, toilet paper). Guest AccessUpon registration, you will be given the entrance code for the backdoor entrance. Please use this entrance to come and go, as our clients and program guests typically use the front door entrance. The backdoor is also easier for unloading/loading and has direct access to the stairs.
Since this is a large house, there may be other guests present during your stay. Please only access the following rooms: Your bedroom, the bathroom on your floor, the half bath on the first floor (if necessary) and the common sitting area on the second floor. Please note that you may be sharing a bathroom with other guests on your floor if those rooms are also booked.
We welcome you to free coffee and tea. Feel free to use the fridge/microwave in the kitchen or to eat. No cooking is allowed but you can use our plates/bowls, cups and utensils.
If there are no programs/events happening on the main level, you may use the dining room to eat as well. We also welcome you to sit outside at one our picnic tables (weather permitting ☺).
If you need to do laundry during your stay, we have a laundry room in our basement. Interaction with GuestsWe both live on the second floor but have our own ‘area’ of the house. We work full-time and most likely will not be at the house from early morning until late afternoon/early evening. You may see Zayda more as she runs HeartWell along with two other staff that will be in the office downstairs.
If you need suggestions for places to eat/go, we’d be happy to help! Just let us know during check-in.
We will not be accessing your room at all during your stay. If you need anything, please let us know. The NeighborhoodWe are located in a safe and peaceful neighborhood of Worcester, MA - close to the Worcester airport and very accessible to many restaurants, grocery stores, gas stations, shopping, salons, etc. We recommend checking out a wonderful pizza place called Corner Grille, just a 3-minute drive away (806 Pleasant St).
We are a 10-minute drive from downtown Worcester and 15 minutes from Shrewsbury St (many restaurants and bars).
Nearby colleges by driving distance: Worcester State University (3 min), Assumption College (4 min), WPI (6 min), Clark University (8 min), Becker College (8 min), MCPHS (10 min) College of the Holy Cross (15 min), UMASS Medical School (15 min), Quinsigamond Community College (15 min). Getting AroundWe definitely recommend having a car/renting a car when you visit Worcester. Public transportation is not always reliable or convenient. However, if you’re willing to give it a shot, there is a public bus stop (route 2) directly outside our home on Pleasant St.
If you have a car/rent a car, we have private parking available behind our house. Other Things to NoteWe are flexible with check-in. Just let us know before hand when you plan to arrive so we can make the necessary arrangements.
