The SpaceThink of "country in the city" with all conveniences at your fingertips. We live across from Ann Arbor's oldest cemetery, Fairview, and have a stand a of pines to the north and east, yet it's just a 20-minute walk to downtown Ann Arbor. Our house is a 1929 Sears & Roebuck kit house and has a lot of charm and warmth. Guest AccessGuests have access to the living room, dining room, kitchen and bathroom. They are also welcome to cook in our kitchen, assuming that they bring their own food. In nice weather, either the front or back porches are also available. The room downstairs with the queen sized bed is our room and is a private area. Interaction with GuestsAs much as the guest would like. We listen carefully to the guest's wishes. We have often shared a meal or an evening with a solo traveler, but fully respect any individual's desire for privacy and alone time. The NeighborhoodIt is peaceful, clean, quiet, safe, welcoming and just a five-minute walk to the river! Getting AroundThe local city bus is just two blocks from my house. You can walk to downtown or campus in about 20 minutes or to a local small grocery store in about 15. Other Things to NoteWe have a super friendly dog friend, Charlie.

The SpaceThere is a queen size bed and wifi. The draperies close to make the room dark and cozy. Your private bath is directly across the hall and has a tub and shower combination. We provide you our personal taxi service. Conrad is retired and happy to drive you to nearby destinations, and then pick you up again -- that service is included in your price. He’ll pick you up and drop you off at Metro Airport for $50 round-trip or $30 one-way. No need to rent a car for your stay in Ann Arbor, whether it’s for a game, visit the kids at school, or simply to hang out in one of the most progressive and diverse cities in America. I enjoy making a healthy and hearty breakfast each morning for our guests and find it a perfect time to get acquainted. Feel free to enjoy the screened-in balcony any time of day, use our laundry or put your own groceries in the kitchen. A bus stop is a short walk away and is a straight shot into downtown Ann Arbor on Liberty Street, one of the main roads in the area. Town and campus are easily accessible from here by walking or biking also. Nearby you can walk to grocery stores or a wide variety of restaurants, including Zingerman’s Roadhouse. Here’s a breakdown of places and their distance from your room in our home: Central Campus & Downtown: 2 miles “The Big House” Michigan Football Stadium: 2 ½ miles University of Michigan Hospital: less than 4 miles Shopping center with Kroger and eateries: 1 mile. Interaction with GuestsIn the past several years we have used airbnb for lodging and had wonderful experiences, so now that we have our brand new condo, we want to pass that along to other nice folks. Come visit! We are available during your stay to recommend sites and activities, or simply to chat. And of course, Conrad's the driver for your needs while in town. I love to have cooking partners, so if that's your thing, we can have fun that way, too.

The SpaceThe house is a duplex, with two bedrooms upstairs. The bedrooms upstairs are occupied by myself and my brother, while my parents live downstairs. The space you will be renting is not shared by us, although there is a very short hallway (by short I mean about 3 steps) which leads to the bathroom. This hallway is where all of the rooms open up to. Guests have their own front entrance and will receive keys upon their arrival, so coming and going is completely independent of us. Guest AccessYou will have your own fully functional kitchen. The bathroom will only be used by you. Interaction with GuestsWe are happy to interact with guests (chats in the evening, breakfast together, showing you around Ann Arbor, etc.), but again, this doesn't need to happen. We can work around your needs and won't be hurt if you prefer little interaction. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is about 1 mile (or a 20 minute walk) from downtown Ann Arbor. We have 2 parks very close to us: one is a smaller park about half a block away that includes a large field and some play structures; the other park is about 3 blocks away and has 3 baseball diamonds, 2 tennis courts, and an ice rink/swimming pool (Veterans Memorial Park). Just beyond that are a few strip malls with stores ranging from a Dollar Tree and a Value World to a Plum Market (an upscale organic store comparable to Wholefoods). Getting AroundThere is a bus stop just across the street from our house. That bus will take you downtown for $1.50. I will be more than happy to explain the bus system/show you the stops.

The SpaceWe live in a quiet neighborhood that is close to the University of Michigan. It's an easy 40 minute walk to Central Campus; even quicker on a bike (we have a spare). There are two main bus lines that pass near the house as well. Groceries stores (Trader Joes, Whole Foods) are nearby. The room has a full size bed, desk and chair, and adjacent bathroom. Our house is kid friendly but (due to allergies) not pet friendly ... at least not dogs or cats. Guest AccessYou may have access to the refrigerator, washer and dryer and to shared rooms on the ground floor of the house. The entrance into the house and your room is through a shared coat room and entry between living room and kitchen. We have an extra bicycle and other amenities as needs arise. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is charming and safe. School playgrounds and County Farm Park with running/walking trails are nearby. Getting AroundWe are situated very close to the AATA #4 and #5 bus lines, which have easy access to downtown, UM Central Campus, and Eastern Michigan University (Ypsilanti). Other Things to NotePlease note that we have no furry pets in the house because of strong allergies. For that reason, we cannot take in guests that bring along furry pets (e.g., dogs, cats). We also have a child with tree nut allergies and request that you keep all nut foods in your room, out of the shared spaces/refrigerator.

The SpaceMy apartment is a great place to stay for any kind of trip to Ann Arbor. I am less than 2 miles from the Big House (and Crisler Arena for Basketball) and 4 from Central Campus. Both bedrooms have queen beds and dresser/closet space. The 2nd bedroom will be completely clear of clothing/personal items, and the master bedroom will have open closet space and dresser space, but will still have some of my clothing left behind. There is a queen blow up mattress which is available to you upon request, and there is plenty of space in the living room to set it up if you want to stay here with 6 people. **Just a heads up, the bed in the master bedroom is a pillowtop mattress and is VERY soft. If you have issues with soft beds, this may not be comfortable for you. Shampoo and other basic toiletries will be available for your use. House is fully stocked wih towels/sheets/etc. Kitchen is pretty well stocked with basic needs for cooking. If there is anything you need that isn't in the kitchen, there is a large grocery store (Kroger) less than a mile away from the condo. Great spot for entertaining. The floorplan is very open between the living room, dining room and kitchen area. The bar area is perfect for people who want to hang out while the host is cooking. Table currently is set up to seat 6, but ask me about the extra leaves if you are planning on having more people over for dinner. Weather permitting, I have a patio with some comfy patio furniture, perfect for lounging on nice days. There is a TV that is connected to Chromecast. THERE IS NO CABLE. You can set up the Chromecast to play anything from the internet from your phone or computer on the TV. Great for watching things on Netflix, Hulu, Youtube etc. You do need your own smartphone or computer to use this. I can show you how to set it up if you're interested. There is a raquetball court, small workout room, and small indoor pool available for your use on the property. Just ask me for the keys to the common area and I can show you how to get there. Guest AccessYou have acess to the full condo. I have a covered parking spot on the property as well. Interaction with GuestsI will be staying about a mile away so I am happy to help out if there are any questions you have. The SpaceComing to Ann Arbor for a conference? Need housing while looking to purchase? Visiting U of M? Need to be close to U Hospital? Private, spacious and immaculate second floor suite, consisting of 1-BR, full bathroom, LR, and use of fully equipped kitchen, W/D (on first and basement levels respectively). Ideal for short term stays--weekends, by the week, or up to a month. We request a minimum stay of two nights. The suite is bright and airy with large slider windows looking out at tree tops: the bedroom does not have windows (in case you are claustrophobic). Most guests find the room and the firm mattress provides an excellent night's sleep and enjoy the complete darkness the room provides. The sliders, a window A/C unit in summer and fans provide comfortable cooling and air circulation. This is a private suite with a locking door, the second floor of a home (it is not a separate entry from the outside). Very well cleaned between every guest, fully furnished w/ King bed, couch, desk, dresser, all linens, towels, shower products, hair dryer, iron and ironing board and closet for hangables. Can accomodate 1 person or a couple, and also works for couples with a younger aged child or baby (we can provide a baby gate, high chair, portable crib/playpen, and unused outlets have safety plugs) WiFI access, parking, very close to bus line, 1.5 miles to UM Campus, 2.5 miles to downtown, 1 mi to MI Stadium, and easy access to expressways. For more active moments we have an elliptical trainer for your use on a sunny glassed-in porch or a full gym in the basement. Guests often enjoy coffee or tea in the rocking chairs on the porch, overlooking beautiful vegetable gardens. Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Park, nearby, two great neighborhood coffee shops within 2 blocks. We provide a "starter supply" of coffee, tea, half and half, fresh fruit, homemade granola, yogurt for your first morning or until it runs out. Or we can make suggestions if you prefer going out. We can easily accommodate food allergy needs or gluten-free guests for our breakfast foods. The suite is above our offices so there are occasionally other people coming and going on the first floor typically only between 9:30 am and 7 pm. As hosts, we're friendly and we'll make sure you have what you need but otherwise leave you to enjoy your stay. We charge $15/night for an extra guest; child under 6 is free. Guest AccessGym, WiFi, washer/dryer, picnic table, visiting and feeding chickens. Interaction with GuestsWe are available to answer any questions. We enjoy meeting our guests but realize you didn't come here to visit us! The SpacePerfect for 1 or 2 or 3, the west end of the main floor has its own hall accessing the two bedrooms each with a firm double bed and a bath for your exclusive use. The main entry and shared rooms are located between the guest suite and our owner suite. Guest AccessLiving/dining room, library, kitchen and back deck are all available for shared use. You may come and go as you please without concern for our schedule. Interaction with GuestsYour privacy is important to us. We're here during your stay and available to help you get the most out of your visit (we love AA!) ... all you need to do is ask. The NeighborhoodOur home is located amongst the old oaks in the Upper Water Hill neighborhood, about a mile from the north end of the Main Street business district and Kerrytown. While a small hill by most standards, the downhill walk to Main Street is about a 100 feet elevation drop and a healthy uphill walk back. Getting AroundThere is plenty of street parking if you arrive by car or need a car to get to your planned activities. Uber is also a popular alternative even for downtown destinations since parking can be hard to find and expensive. It's a pleasant mile walk through the modest Water Hill neighborhood to Kerrytown/Zingerman's, the north end of the Main Street restaurant scene and the river path & trails. About another mile takes you through the heart of downtown to UM central campus or UM Medical Center or Michigan Stadium. Consider the Two Mile Challenge ... any destination within 2 miles is easily walked or biked, and better for your heart and your soul. We have extra umbrellas and ponchos if you need them. Close to 4 bus routes -- #13 Newport, #12A & #12B Miller/Liberty, #18 Miller/University. About a mile from Amtrak station, AirRide from DTW, and bus station ... we'd be happy to pick you up if you come to town through any of these stations. Other Things to NoteWhile it's easy to bring a car, our location is ideal for those who enjoy walking as exercise and as a great way to get to know the community you're visiting. To lighten your travel load, the suite includes a hair dryer, soaps, shampoo and extra towels. There's lots of hanging space in the closets.

If you prefer a bathroom that is attached to your bedroom this may not be the spot for you. And hey, that's alright!
