The hosta collection has reached 60. Most of which I can still identify...but not all! Guest AccessDining, living room and half bath on main floor, hot tub on the patio just outside the back door as well as front and backyard gardens are all available for shared use with kitchen cooking and laundry available upon request. Interaction with GuestsMy intention is to offer you a professional service in a friendly unobtrusive atmosphere with varying degrees of interaction depending on your needs. This property is my home, where I live full time, I will be in and out daily. You will also be free to come and go as you please without regard for my schedule. The NeighborhoodThe surrounding area is usually very quiet as it is several blocks from most student rentals. Bailey is primarily a family/professional residential neighborhood. The attractive tree lined winding streets are safe and perfect for walking destinations. This location is only six blocks from Grand River Avenue, the north-eastern edge of the MSU Campus. Getting AroundMy home has a large driveway with free parking on the back side of the house which will handle a trailer if you happen to be a festival artist, musician or just traveling through. Downtown East Lansing has ample paid parking available in ramps, surface lots and on the streets. Parking on campus is limited. The CATA bus line is within a few blocks with frequent services. If you need a ride to or from Capitol City Airport, the Michigan Flyer (transportation to DTW) or Amtrak East Lansing Station, I will do my best to accommodate you at no extra cost. Taxi and now Uber services are also available. Other Things to NoteWithin an easy walk to downtown East Lansing you will find an array of restaurants and shops familiar to college towns, some of which include: The Peanut Barrel, Georgio's Pizza, Beggars Banquet, HopCat, El Azteco, Omi Sushi, Dublin Square, Black Cat Bistro & and Espresso Royale ~ all locally owned. In addition one of the finest shopping experiences ever is Mackerel Sky~ Gallery of Contemporary Craft. The Guidebook lists all these places and much more. Opened winter of 2013, the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum is located on the MSU campus at the Collingwood and Grand River intersection. Amazing architectural feat designed by Zaha Hadid. Admission is free. Also free tours on Sat & Sun 1pm & 3pm. The campus itself is absolutely truly wonderful: horticultural gardens, spring blossoming crab apples, extensive variety of deciduous and conifer trees surrounding many one hundred year old brick buildings. Oh, and MSU Sports! Our community is host to many fine festivals—art, blues, jazz, folk, and singing—along with a plethora of Michigan State University activities: l welcome people from all cultures from all parts of the world and strive to provide the clean, relaxing and comfortable Bed and Bath experience I would like to experience myself.

The SpaceThe guest room is at the back of an addition to the house, so it provides a nice bit of solitude and quiet. The room features a large picture window that looks out over the backyard, carpeted floors, a comfy queen bed, a full closet and dresser, and a writing table. We also have a couch and loveseat in the sunroom which we can use to accommodate for two additional guests in a pinch. We don't advertise the sunroom as a guest space and we won't have more than one party stay with us on any given night. Guest AccessIn addition to the private bedroom, you'll have access to a shared bath, the living room, dining room, kitchen, and sunroom. You are also welcome to hang out in the backyard and use the hot-tub if you'd like. Interaction with GuestsWe will do everything we can to be available to you during your stay. We are happy to visit with our guests, or have limited interactions... your choice. The NeighborhoodOur neighborhood is made up of homes built in the 1930s. The winding streets are lined with mature maple trees, and is very quiet even though it is a block from two major thoroughfares. One often sees people out for a stroll or walking their dogs. There is plenty of shopping and dining within an easy stroll of our home. We are also two blocks from the northeast corner of the campus, making it a great choice for those visiting for events at MSU. Getting AroundWe are one block from CATA's bus line #1. This runs from the state capital in Lansing all the way through campus and out to Okemos and back. Uber and taxi options are available as well. And if you happen to have your bike with you, there are bike paths nearby. We are walking distance to Spartan stadium (or a short Uber ride) as well. Other Things to NoteWe have four very friendly, but energetic dogs! So, be prepared for an exuberant greeting when you get here (and the first few times you come into the shared space), but they will settle down pretty quickly. The area where the guestroom is located is a "pet-free" area.

Or, the bus service picks up right in front of the complex - the bus can take you anywhere in the Lansing metropolitan area.
