The SpaceThe Captain's Quarters is the upstairs unit in our carriage house. It features a private entrance with space to hang your coat and drop off your boots and then walk up the carpeted stairway to the entrance of the Captain's Quarters. It features a full bath, shower, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, cable TV, wifi and a super quiet setting for a peaceful, relaxing experience. The carriage house is a separate building from the main house so your privacy is virtually absolute. While we do have a larger unit downstairs (The Island City Cottage) the entire carriage house is very well insulated for both a high R-factor rating as well as acoustical insulation. Guest AccessYou will have interior access to the space shown in the pictures. In addition, there is a washer/dryer available on the first floor (usage must be scheduled). Private, exterior side entrance. Driveway and parking on the concrete pad immediately in front of the Carriage House. In general, the gate to the property will be closed. If you need to leave and the gate is closed, simply open and then close upon departure. Interaction with GuestsIn nearly every event we will be on the property during your stay. If we are gone for any length of time we will surely communicate that with you while you are our guest. The NeighborhoodEaton Rapids has just been named by the Lansing State journal as "The Best small town in Michigan" We are approximately 20-25 minutes from Jackson or Lansing. 50 minutes to Ann Arbor and Battle Creek. Other Things to NoteWe open the two units of our Carriage House (The Island City Cottage & The Captain’s Quarters) only to guests who have contacted us through the Airbnb website to request a reservation. This separate building on our property is in full compliance with the zoning and ordinance laws of Eaton Rapids, Michigan and is certified for occupancy. An annual review by the city building inspector guarantees that our Carriage House remains in full compliance with all state and local building codes and safety regulations.
