The SpaceThis cottage is 8 miles west of St. Ignace which has ferries to Mackinac Island and many attractions. It is 3 miles east of the six-mile expansive Lake Michigan Dunes Lakeshore and 5 miles east of great Cut River Bridge hiking trails and beach . The home includes two bedrooms, each with a full bed. There is one bathroom, a dining area, laundry room, garage, and large living room area that includes what was originally a third bedroom. There is a patio with a grill and also a full deck on the lake side of the house. There is also a large back yard. Guest AccessGuests have access to shoreline and there is a channel at my larger home to the east perfect for boat access to Lake Michigan. There is an area for fires near the house and a large back yard for frisbees, badminton, or whatever you might bring. Though the home next door is only 100 feet away, the homes are not visible from one to the other. Direct TV is provided but there is no internet access. Interaction with GuestsI am not on the property but am available via phone if questions or concerns. The NeighborhoodThis cottage, property and lakeshore is very secluded. Though just off Hwy2, the cottage is nestled at the end of a long black-topped private drive, away from traffic and noise. The view of the stars and meteor showers is spectacular. Watch freighters pass and view ducks, herons, cranes and a variety of bird life. Bring binoculars! Getting AroundThe closest grocery stores are in St. Ignace, 8 miles east. We are one-two hours away from many area interests of interest, such as the Soo Locks, Taquamenon Falls, and Whitefish Point on Lake Superior. You can also find great hiking at Cut River Bridge, 5 miles to the east or at the old CC camp park 2 miles away. Beach walking and swimming is great at the sand dunes, on US2 3 miles to the west. I can email area information after booking. Other Things to NoteA gas grill and outdoor furniture is provided, as well as a washer/dryer, towels and linens. There is a 4 night minimum stay with rental between Memorial and Labor Days occurring by the week, Sat-Sat. The well water can vary in taste and quality so bringing jugs of water for drinking and cooking is suggested.
