The SpaceThis listing and pricing is for the whole house as a vacation or temporary rental, it includes the Momma Bear (soft queen bed), Papa Bear (firm full bed), and Baby Bear (just right twin bed) rooms. The house is an historic 130 Year old Victorian home two blocks from the heart of a quaint downtown. Anoka built up in the mid 1800s around logging industry operations at the confluence of the Rum and the Mighty Mississippi Rivers, later potato production, shoe manufacturing, and a state hospital. It's a convenient 30 minutes outside the Twin Cities, where you can enjoy being part of the comforts and community of small Minnesota town.
Price includes parking, utilities, linens, and toiletries. Please leave the house CLEAN as you found it with linens and towels washed and folded on the beds. Notify us of anything that does not work or anything you need changed or additional. We're open to recommendations.
House does not accommodate pets, illicit drugs, e-cigarettes, or smoking on the premises. Any of these will forfeit your damage deposit for extra cleaning.
Side Note: My house is on the Anoka Ghost Tour; we can talk about it if you have any concerns. Two driveway spots available for cars (no on-street overnight parking in Anoka). Old house, lead removed in most places, may still be present in some places, such as exterior paints. Full kitchen, formal dining room, laundry on site, two large sitting rooms, downstairs tv with movies Netflix, and Wifi. You have access to a quaint side porch, patio, and yard for walking. Linens, towels, hangers, iron and ironing board, and some toiletries provided, please replace if you use something up. Fine dining and wine at CORK! Getting AroundThe house is 9 blocks from commuter train and 1.5 blocks from the bus to Downtown Minneapolis (850/852). During the week, bus runs frequently during commuter hours, before 7:30am and between 3:30pm and 6:30pm; bus runs every hour other hours until 9:45pm from DT Mpls ($2.25 - $3 per trip), limited service on Saturdays and Holiday, and no service on Sundays. Commuter rail generally runs during commuter hours and one or two runs on Sunday. Check Metrotransit dots org for details. House is 130+yr old, there may be lead based paint in the house. Most lead paints have been removed or painted over, house is registered with Anoka as a rental property, home has been inspected for safety and adherence to codes, smoke and CO detectors on every level checked bi-monthly.
