The SpaceLuxury private home features 3 bed., 2 bath, gourmet kitchen with every amenity, pontoon, gorgeous gardens, 4 outdoor living spaces, fireplace, satellite tv, and even a big cuddly dog (if desired). A home gym with recumbent bicycle, treadmill and lake view! Propane and charcoal grills, water toys, it's all here. The fishing is great -- bass, walleye, northerns and sunnies. The sunsets over the lake are breathtaking from this hilltop location. Early morning walks in the woods or hiking the North Country Scenic Trail in Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge are all just outside the door. If it's a rainy day, head to nearby Park Rapids or Detroit Lakes for shopping or stay inside and choose from a selection of board games or Wii games. On the pontoon, you'll want to visit the eagle's nest and head over to the sandy beach for swimming. Be advised however that there are steps down to the docks and lower deck. The lakeside area has a lighted boardwalk, patio, fire pit, two docks and easy access to a clean hard bottom lake. There is not a sandy beach play area for small children. Once in the lake, it's perfect for floating, swimming and fun. This is not your typical rental property, it's my real home filled with creature comforts, reading spots and panoramic views of the forest and the lake. Bring your personal items and relax at the lake! Guest AccessThe entire home, garage, dock, pontoon, patios, grill, firepits, large partially fenced yard. Interaction with GuestsI am available to meet and orient guests and then the property is yours. I can also provide a stocked kitchen, just send your list! The NeighborhoodThis is a very rural, lakeside setting with lots of woods and privacy. Getting AroundPlenty of hiking, biking but no mass transit. This is Minnesota Northwoods living at its finest. Other Things to NoteBecause this is my real home and not just a rental property, you can expect to feel like you're visiting a friend and not a cold, sterile rental. It also means everything you could need or want is here, along with family photos and other personal items.

Looking for a summer getaway? Lake Seven is a beautiful destination. We're located about 6 miles from both Vergas and Frazee, MN, and about 10 miles from Detroit Lakes. Our home is nestled in 1.4 acres of woods with 150' of lake shore on a quiet cul- de-sac, just off a dead end road. Lake Seven, also known as Scalp Lake, is one of the clearest and cleanest lakes in Minnesota, with a reputation for good walleye fishing. It's also locally popular with scuba divers. The lake covers about 250 acres, with a maximum depth of 90'. Enjoy the kayaks, paddle boat and fishing boat (with motor), all included with your stay. Go fishing, swim, water ski or do a little floating. We have a 32 ft. dock with attached benches to relax and enjoy your morning coffee or to watch the sunset with a glass of wine. You're welcome to bring your own boat. There's plenty of room to tie up. If you bring your trail bikes, you can enjoy miles of winding country roads and trails. Enjoy the wildlife - eagles, owls, swans and many other birds. Every year Lake Seven is home for at least one nesting pair of loons, and you will likely see deer, wild turkeys, and maybe a fox. There are several golf courses nearby. The famous Detroit Lakes Country Club, host of the annual Pine to Palm Tournament in August, and the premier Wildflower golf course, along with others not far away. There's lots of shopping, dining and other activities within less than a twenty minute drive. Detroit Lakes hosts the Northwest Water Carnival and WeFest country music festival. Restaurants include Zorbaz on the Lake and the newest hot spot in town, Brew Ale & Eats. Don't miss the popular flea market every weekend. Vergas has several fun seasonal shops and restaurants, including Spanky's Stone Hearth and Billy's Corner Bar. If you find yourself missing city life (not likely!), Fargo-Moorhead is about an hour away. Inside our house, you'll find a year around home decorated with style. We offer three bedrooms, (one up, two down), 2 1/2 baths, and laundry room. The master on the main floor has a queen bed, and the bedrooms downstairs have a full and two twin beds. In the lower level you'll find the family room with flat screen, and a cast iron gas stove. It's a nice place to gather if the evening is chilly. Walk out into the screened in porch that overlooks the woods and lake. Sit for a while and listen to the birds and rustling leaves. Bring a book, because you'll want to linger a while. The kitchen is large and is well equipped. The view from the adjacent dining area is just as good as from the upper deck, which is where you will find the grill and outdoor eating space. It overlooks the natural forest and the boardwalk leading to the lake. When you're relaxing on the upper deck you're surrounded by trees, and it feels like you're in a tree house. The SpaceThis home is in a neighborhood of professional and business owners. As the pictures show it is comfortable cabin decor in a very private area. This fall natural gas was supplied to the area. We are converting to a natural gas boiler in December so it will be toasty! Guests typically occupy the upstairs but there is an additional bedroom, bathroom, and kitchenette in the basement you can use for larger events. The kitchen is fully equipped with a coffee maker, gas stove with oven and microwave. If you like to bake, cook, and experiment with burned sacrifices off the stove have at it! There are two full size refrigerators, two microwaves and fully equipped kitchen with pots, pans, utensils and small appliances. Guest AccessGuests have access to entire house. Lower level walk out basement is also available for additional space. This home is my private residence but I live in Fargo when I have guests so guests have maximum privacy. I introduce them to the cabin and leave for Fargo. Both upper and lower levels available for large events like family retreats or daytime business training Chromecast ultra, HDMI TV, and wifi included! There is a large deck facing the lake which is fully accessible by guests. This deck has a large propane grill which people love since it is large, quick and easy. Interaction with GuestsI live off the premises when I have guests. I have a motor home if there is a need for additional guest bedrooms. I have an apartment in Fargo. Usually I turn the entire home over to my guests. I love to meet new people. I interact as much or as little as people like. Usually I have a short meeting with new guests to orient them to the house and find out their expectations so we can try to meet their expectations. I have current local publications on the kitchen table to show current events in the area. Check out websites in Detroit Lakes, Moorhead, and Fargo for current activities. The NeighborhoodThis home is in a highly developed lakeshore area with gorgeous high end year round homes. One next door neighbor is a dentist who practices in Moorhead. The other neighbor is the owner of a electrical business in Fargo. The rest of the neighborhood is business and professional people that have very nice homes. Most people daily commute to Fargo for their businesses. My home is older in the area but it is mostly remodeled and very comfortable. We continually upgrade the space as time and money permit. In November we painted the bedrooms and downstairs. We are adding a new heating system in early December. We have Internet Security and control systems for monitoring. Getting AroundLots of parking here and no public transportation. TRY FARGO UBER!!! Or car rental agencies out of FARGO 37 miles away. So far most guests have had their own cars. Some business people traveling to Fargo use this cabin space for a unique retreat to add to their business travels. They have used rental cars out of Fargo. Other Things to NoteThe home has wonderful Internet access so live video is streamable. I have Chromecast Ultra to cast video and presentations off your computer or smartphone on to the provided HDMI TV. The house is Internet Interactive for temperature control and security. The cabin could be a wonderful daytime retreat and training facility with overnight sleeping possible. Catering businesses in the area will fill your meal needs. Search "Detroit Lakes, MN Catering" to find current providers. Central Market does a fine job and has a great variety of cuisine. Contact me for unique pricing needs.I will give special rates to large family events. I will provide this cabin to businesses that want to have daytime only training events, multi-day events with stay over privileges or a super quiet place to put together a project. There are whiteboards and presentation easels available. I can provide additional computers for some projects. I have many folding tables to lay out huge projects. Let me know what you need.

The SpaceToo many to name! Mostly, we love its secluded feeling in the dense trees, the big front deck facing the water, the private boat dock, and the lofted bedroom that feels like a treehouse - a place where you can escape the rest of the world for awhile. At evening, step out onto the screened porch with a glass of your favorite wine and hear the sounds of silence with friends. Or, seat yourself around the fire pit with family, telling stories while making S'mores! Inside the cabin, the master bedroom is downstairs w/queen sized bed. Our Loft with a view of the lake has a new Casper queen sized bed. Guest AccessYou have access to the entire cabin and it's amenities and since there's no on-site host, you have privacy. Perhaps you'd like to use our canoe; it's available for you to explore Strawberry Lake. Wireless Wi-Fi internet available May 1 - Oct. 31; other months subject to agreement with owner. Interaction with GuestsCheryl and I leave our home in California and make yearly vacations to our Strawberry Lake Cabin. We love sharing our Strawberry lake experiences and insights with our guests. What's most important to us is helping you meet your vacation needs and offering our help in any possible way, by phone or email. After you book a vacation with us, we'll still be in contact, offering detailed driving directions and more... Before you check-in, we'll put you in contact with our off-site host who will check you in. Beyond being a very nice man, he is a master craftsman and the builder of Strawberry Lake Cabin. Since he's a resident of the Strawberry Lake area, he'll be able to help answer your questions about the local area and things to do. The NeighborhoodWhen I came to see the lot on Strawberry Lake, I was hooked. This lakefront property - though overgrown and in need of TLC-captured everything I loved about my youth in Minnesota: a thick cover of trees to mark the passing of the seasons and to keep the cabin secluded, a sandy lakefront for launching canoes, and acres of crystal-clear water. The four season cabin itself is new construction - just recently built in 2013 - and provides lots of amenities we didn't have back in my days of camping in the MN woods, including a full kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a downy bed for restful nights, and radiant heated floors. Getting AroundOur cabin is located 23 miles North of Detroit Lakes on Strawberry Lake. Getting around is by personal vehicle, although from time to time, sea planes land and takeoff on Strawberry Lake. Our lakefront on Strawberry Lake has 150 ft. of shoreline. It's a natural wetland area with resident wildlife; groomed area leading to dock and sandy-bottomed lake. Strawberry Lake's pristine water clarity makes it a premiere destination for swimming, boating and fishing. This spring-fed lake provides clean, clear water with 12-15 foot visibility to the lake bottom. The public access boat launch is a short 2 tenths of a mile from our cabin property. Consider a dawn or dusk trail bike or car ride to Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge, just 3 mi. from the cabin; then, walk, run or ride the miles of backwoods trails to view the exceptional array of wildlife - Bald Eagle, Nesting Osprey, Trumpeter Swans, perhaps even a Woodcock or Gray Wolf...all of which we've seen in the refuge, and so many more wildlife viewing wonders. During the Winter months, Tamarac offers more hiking and wildlife watching on cross-country skis, snowshoes, boots or by car. Itasca State Park (headwaters of the Mississippi River) is 42 miles from Strawberry Lake Cabin - a lovely 53 minute drive. Other helpful 'getting around' tips: Nearest Airport: Hector International Airport, Fargo, ND - 79 miles Nearest Train: Amtrak Station, Detroit Lakes, MN - 23 miles Nearest Ski: Maplelag Ski Resort (cross-country skiing) - 6 miles Nearest Golf: Three Bears Country Club (9 hole) - 5 miles Nearest Restaurant: Ice Cracking Lodge - 11 miles Other Things to NoteSince our Minnesota Strawberry Lake vacation rental, located 23 miles north of Detroit Lakes, MN. is a newer Airbnb listing, you may be interested in taking a peek at a few of our guest reviews from our other major vacation rental listings: VRBO/(SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) (listing # 488800) and (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)/TripAdvisor.

Few places can brag about autumns as astonishingly brilliant as the ones we enjoy Up North in the wilds of Minnesota. And this log cabin, built by local Minnesota craftsmen in 2013 and tucked into a wooded lot bordering Strawberry Lake, welcomes you to a cozy getaway right in the center of some of the country’s most vivid fall beauty. FALL COLOR TAKES CENTER STAGE Every window at our Strawberry Lake Cabin frames a kaleidoscopic view of trees bursting into red, yellow, and orange. This is especially true of the cathedral windows encompassing the entire front of the cabin—from the main living area to the lofted bedroom. The vaulted ceiling and knotty pine/basswood walls increases the splendor of this part of the cabin, which also overlooks glittering Strawberry Lake. Cozy up on the bench on the spacious deck facing the lake—a steamy mug of hot chocolate or coffee in hand—while the birds in the bright trees and on the mirrored water sing their last songs before heading south. Or, on a sun-drenched day, sear some burgers on the gas grill and enjoy them on the screened porch. Then have a bonfire as the late-day sun’s gold light filters through the trees. Did we mention the radiant, in-floor heating? Nothing beats it on a chilly autumn morning, or when you return from a crisp afternoon hike. Leave your boots at the door and give your toes a treat! A RETREAT FOR COUPLES, FRIENDS & FAMILIES Couples love it here at our Strawberry Lake Cabin. Experience the easy romance of tucking into nature together and shaking off the stresses of everyday life. Unbound lake views greet you in the morning from the cozy, lofted bedroom, and a clear Minnesota sky full of stars lulls you into a deep sleep. Plenty of autumn activities await active couples here, from hiking through golden forests, to biking lovely back roads, to exploring the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge (just 3 miles from the cabin) as the animals scurry to prepare for the long winter ahead. Friends’ getaways—complimented by a bottle of Minnesota wine, maybe?—find a wonderful setting here, as well. And families find a home-away-from home at Strawberry Lake Cabin. We have a highchair, a baby crib, and a washer/dryer for warm, fresh clothes for everyone mid-week. No matter who you’re traveling with, we highly recommend a canoe trip out on Strawberry Lake. We provide the canoe for you! And the water here is calm and peaceful, with less motorboat traffic than on many of the lakes in this area. Not to mention the water clarity: spring-fed Strawberry Lake is so clear, you can see almost 17 feet straight down to the bottom! MAKE NEW MEMORIES WITH US There’s a timeless quality to Strawberry Lake and Northern Minnesota. Interested in a longer stay? Contact us about a monthly rate. We know you'll love it as much as we do!

A Minnesotan summer is a quintessential American summer. And on the banks of crystal-clear Strawberry Lake in the far Up North, our one-bedroom, one-bath Strawberry Lake cabin will entice even the most digitally connected guests to step away and enjoy the great outdoors like kids on summer vacation! Built by local craftsmen in 2013, our Strawberry Lake Cabin sits at the edge of Strawberry Lake, which is beautiful in all seasons but holds a special charm in summertime. The air is warm, the sun shines bright and clear, and the deep green foliage dapples the glassy lake. Enjoy all of this lush scenery from the spacious deck under the trees at Strawberry Lake Cabin—from morning coffee to evening glass of wine. Inside, an open common area, including a fully-stocked and gleaming new kitchen, faces cathedral windows overlooking the deck, the woods, and the lake. These windows span the width of the house, all the way up to the lofted sleeping area, which is perched just at the tree line. A RETREAT FOR COUPLES & FRIENDS Couples love it here at our Strawberry Lake Cabin—no matter the season. Experience the easy romance of tucking into nature together and shaking off the stresses of everyday life. From the loft bedroom, views of an unpolluted Minnesota sky full of stars will lull you into a deep sleep, and the green woods filled with birdsong will greet you first thing in the morning. Friends’ getaways—complimented by a bottle of Minnesota wine, maybe?—find a wonderful setting here, as well. And small families appreciate our Strawberry Lake Cabin—as well as the many family-friendly activities on the property and nearby. To make your family retreat easy, we provide a highchair, a baby crib, and a washer/dryer for warm, fresh clothes for the family mid-week. In summer, the Tamarac Lake National Wildlife Refuge, located just three miles away, comes alive and is spectacular place for a hike or a bike ride. When you get back from outdoor adventuring, heat up the gas or charcoal grill and get your energy back with a perfectly cooked lakeside burger. As the sun starts to sink and the stars pop out, prepare the fire pit for a heavenly dessert of—what else?—gooey toasted s’mores over a crackling flame. The cool air of Minnesota summers makes fireside chats comfortable long into the evening. MAKE NEW MEMORIES WITH US There’s a timeless quality to Strawberry Lake and Northern Minnesota. As the setting for many of my own happy childhood memories (and the place where I proposed to my wife), the woods and lakes Up North hold a special place in my heart. I love being able to share the magic of this place with others—at a cabin built by people who live here in the area, too. We’ve decorated the house with items that mean a lot to us, collected locally and around the world. Be charmed by Strawberry Lake Cabin and the wild places of Minnesota!  Contact us today to book your summer getaway!

This is our home that we have owned and raised our family in since 1990. We live here year round, but are often away from home on business. We will provide a full kitchen with all appliances and amenities you need. We have a washer and dryer you are welcome to use. All linens and towels will be provided. Simply put, all you need to bring is clothes and groceries and you are ready to go! Detroit Lakes, and Detroit Lake in particular, is not only a good fishing lake, but it is also a great recreational lake. Besides the normal fun water activities of fishing, swimming, jet-skiing, tubing, and just trolling the lakeshore on your boat, there are at least five restaurants and bars that you can just pull up to from your boat. They include the Original Zorbaz, Lakeside Lodge, Holiday Inn, Fireside Supper Club, El Toros Mexican, and our favorite Long Bridge Marina. Also a favorite summer activity is to take your boat out to the sandbar with lunch and cocktails and celebrate with the often 50-100 other boats out there doing the same thing in water that does not go past your knees for nearly half a mile! FISHING?? from DNR Website Detroit Lake has a variety of fish habitats and the fish community reflects that diversity. Leech Lake strain muskellunge were first stocked in Detroit Lake in 1989. Fishing opportunities now exist in this lake for catching muskies over fifty inches long and weighing well over thirty pounds. Recent publicity and excellent fishing have made this lake a very popular destination for muskie anglers from throughout the state and region. A century ago, Detroit Lake was known to harbor lake sturgeon weighing over 100 pounds. Historical accounts from the Detroit newspaper document angler catches of these giants in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Stream fragmentation (dam building), over fishing, and water quality degradation resulted in the loss of this long-lived and slow maturing fish species from Detroit Lake and the entire Red River watershed. Several steps have been taken to reverse this condition and restore the fishery including modifications of dams to make them passable by fish, various water quality improvements, and restrictive fishing regulations. In addition, lake sturgeon reintroductions began in Detroit Lake and a few other Red River watershed locations in 1997. Some of these sturgeon have recently been found during test netting and electrofishing in Detroit. Also, there have been two reports of anglers catching and releasing lake sturgeon during recent years. There is currently no sturgeon harvest allowed in Detroit Lake because of the length of time it takes for sturgeon to become sexually mature (approximately 15-25 years). However, the potential exists to catch fish over 100 pounds in this lake within decades. Walleye fishing continues to be very popular in Detroit Lake. Walleye test net catches have been remarkably stable since 1970, except for a decline four years ago which has now reversed itself. Nine different year classes of walleyes were sampled, but the most abundant was the 2008 (age three) which should provide good fishing in the near future. Walleye are stocked at a rate of one pound per littoral acre (1895 lbs) annually to supplement natural reproduction. Natural reproduction occurs periodically but not frequently enough to sustain the walleye fishery in Detroit Lake. Bluegill catches were down somewhat, but they are still relatively abundant compared to other ecologically similar lakes. Large bluegills (those over eight inches) were found in very modest numbers in 2011. Bluegills have historically been slow growing in Detroit and it is believed that most bluegills reaching seven inches or longer are soon harvested by anglers. With the recent decline in abundance, however, bluegill growth rates appear to have increased. It still takes about six years to grow an eight-inch bluegill in Detroit Lake. Largemouth bass, black crappie, northern pike and other species continue to be important parts of the fishery in this lake. Northern pike were larger on average in 2007 than at any time in the recorded history of Detroit Lake. Four years later average pike size has reverted to a more "normal" range for this lake. The average length of pike in this young population was 18.8 inches in 2011. With continuing shoreline and watershed development, this diverse, productive, and valuable fishery will need help on several fronts to be sustained. Anglers can help to maintain balance in fish populations by voluntarily releasing a portion of medium and large fish and keeping smaller ones for eating. This is particularly true for northern pike and bluegill. Shoreline owners and other watershed dwellers can help to maintain or improve water quality and fish habitat by leaving shoreline buffer zones, by leaving stands of native aquatic vegetation intact, by taking precautions to prevent invasive species introductions, and by using wise land management practices. It is not known whether water quality can be improved enough to once again sustain a tullibee fishery in Detroit Lake.

The cabin comes fully furnished; beds, couches, kitchen cooking/serving utensils. The property itself is quite unique; it has 300 feet of lake frontage with a stream running through the property. It was originally part of the Riverside Place Resort. When we bought the end parcel, it included two cabins situated on 200 feet of frontage connected by a foot bridge to the beach/swimming area with another 100 feet of frontage. (only the one cabin described here is currently available for rent). The cabin is centrally located on the lot and privacy is not an issue, as the property is nearly 3 acres in size. The swimming beach are is quite special in that it is sugar sand, has a volleyball court and plenty of space to entertain!
