The SpaceA great place to put your feet up and your head down for a single night or an extended stay. If you need a quick response or a last minute place to crash I'm your guy. Plenty of parking on a nice quiet street. Access to Business Class Internet, DirecTV, DVD player, PS3, Netflix, Amazon Prime & HBOGo. A full security system will grant you both access and piece of mind. Bed fits 2 with a new queen sized, pillow-top mattress. If more space is needed a futon and air mattress can be made available if you contact me before-hand. There is plenty of space for a crib in the room if you're bringing small children. You'd be staying a few minutes away from many of St. Louis's popular attractions and neighborhoods. ---NEIGHBORHOODS--- -Lafayette Square -Soulard -Downtown -Benton Park -Cherokee Street -South Grand -The Hill -The Loop ---ATTRACTIONS--- -Busch Stadium - 5-10 Minutes -City Museum - 5-10 Minutes -Union Station - 5 Minutes -Mardi Gras - 5 Minutes -Anheuser-Busch Brewery - 5 Minutes -Fabulous Fox Theater - 10 Minutes -Scottrade Event Center - 5 Minutes -Edward Jones Dome - 5-10 Minutes -Archway Monument / Laclede's Landing 5-10 Minutes -Tower Grove Park - 10 Minutes -Forest Park - 15 Minutes -Missouri Botanical Gardens - 10 Minutes ---SCHOOLS--- -St. Louis University - 5 Minutes -Washington University - 10 Minutes -Harris Stowe - 5 Minutes -Webster - 15 Minutes Guest AccessYou'll have 100% private access to the bedroom with balcony and a full bathroom. You're welcome to share access to the dining room and gourmet kitchen as well as the back yard and porch. I'm also happy to save you some space in the fridge and freezer if you'd like to do some cooking or bring home your left-overs from any of the amazing local restaurants. Need a yoga mat or free weights during your stay? No need to pack those. Leave your towels at home as I'm happy to provide those as well. There's a grill on the back porch which gets used year 'round and you're welcome to join in. If you're here for an extended stay a new washer and dryer are available any time you need them. Interaction with GuestsThis could go one of two ways. If I'm traveling during your stay you'll be able to let yourself in and have the run of the place while you're here. My neighbor Ginny takes care of the place while I'm gone and will drop by to keep things tidy and take care of the laundry. When I'm not traveling, I'll most likely see you every day since I work out of my house. The extent of that is totally up to you. Most week days I stay in my office except for meal times. I'm usually out of the house for a while most evenings but often come back for a little couch and TV time. The NeighborhoodIf you've never been to St. Louis (or a decent sized Midwestern city) you should know that getting around isn't going to be like Chicago or London. With a very limited metro system you're only method of public transportation is the bus. Many guests asks me how close I am to "see all the sights in STL," and honestly I'm no more than 15 minutes from about everything. That being said, you can't stay in one part of the city and see everything within walking distance. STL is not a compact city and no matter where you stay you'll have to get transportation to see the sights. McKinley Heights (my neighborhood) is just coming into its own. Sandwiched between beautiful Lafayette Square and hipster Benton Park with eclectic South Grand a few minutes away this little neighborhood is beginning to pick up steam. Living right next to a school keeps the riff raff away and I very rarely have an restless night of sleep. Just a few blocks from Interstates 64-40, 44 and 55 with 70 only 5 minutes away it doesn't matter where you're coming from or going to my place is super easy to find. Getting AroundUnfortunately the Metro link doesn't have a nearby stop but Jefferson Ave. (3 blocks away) provides lots of bus opportunities. A 10 minute bus ride on the #11 will get you to a Metro link station. For planning purposes look for bus stops near Jefferson & Russell. Other Things to Note10% off for other hosts and repeat guests dependent upon availability; just msg me for a special offer. Gay friendly, yogis, world travelers, friends of Bill, musicians and artists of all kinds are very welcome. I love creativity, good energy and sing-a-longs so please feel welcome. In fact, the carriage house in the back, while not finished, lighted or heated, could be used as a practice space or studio with the addition of some light. If that's of interest to you let me know and we might be able to make something work. Because of my travel schedule, and the fact I don't eat many processed foods, I may not have many snack items laying around (I usually keep nuts and fruit in the house if I'm in town and there's always eggs in the fridge). If you're on your way here and need munchies stop at Field Foods in Lafayette Square. Lots of locally sourced and organic options (as well as PopTarts and Hot Pockets).

The SpaceThis house has hosted more dinner parties and girls' weekends than I can even count. Every decision in the rehab of this gorgeous space has been made based on my love of hosting and entertaining. The listing is for the whole house. However, If you'd like to book just a single bedroom during a time when I'm going to be also staying in the house, the cost is lower per night and there's another listing for that. Just search under "private room" in the same area. I'm mostly at the house during the week and gone on the weekends. Guest Access-Check in flexible. -Check out by noon - Back Deck with Chiminea - Record player and record collection. - Kitchen equipped for cooking needs. - Wifi - Extra blankets, towels - Japanese futon bed in main bedroom - Typical American futon in the guest room - Super comfy couch Interaction with Guests- I will receive you upon arrival to provide keys and give you a rundown of the place - I will be on call or text for any additional needs or emergencies. The NeighborhoodIt's also so centrally located to everything you might want to do! - 1 block from the awesome Civil Life Brewing Company with their incredible sunny patio! - 8 blocks from the restaurants and bars of South Grand Ave. Feeling adventuresome? Free Wednesday night live music in the garden all summer! - 3.5 miles from Forest Park: Zoo, Art Museum, Science Center, Muny, Jewel Box, Golf, Shakespeare in the Park, etc - 3.5 miles from the Central West End - 4 miles from Busch Stadium and Ballpark Village - 7 miles from the Delmar Loop Getting AroundRight on the #10 Gravois bus line Other Things to NoteThe house is owned by two cats. Henri's an incredibly friendly and snuggly and, frankly dog-like cat. Moo is a little more timid until she gets to know you, then she's a little cuddlebug. If you're allergic to cats - or if, god forbid, you just dislike them - you won't much like it here, though for longer stays they will be staying elsewhere. They're a strictly indoor kitties (though they'll try mightily to convince you otherwise) and they'd very much appreciate it if you'd keep their food and water full while you visit.

The SpaceThis restored historic apartment is on the 1st floor of a two-unit building. It features a large open kitchen/living room providing a wonderful space for groups to gather. During the building's recent renovations we attempted to preserve as much of the historical integrity as possible, including restoring the original trim and refinishing the original hardwood floors throughout the apartment. The master bedroom has a California king-size bed, and the 2nd bedroom has a double bed. There are two private entrances for this apartment. One reserved off-street parking space is provided. Outdoor areas: you can relax in the backyard and build a fire in the fire-pit, or sit on the front porch and watch all the people walk by to South Grand ave. While the apartment is very close to South Grand ave, it is far enough away that you will have peace and quiet in the apartment. Guest AccessYou will have private access to the entire apartment, as well as the large rear brick patio including the shared table, firepit, and BBQ. Interaction with GuestsAs much or as little as you would like. The NeighborhoodLocated in the 'Tower Grove South' neighborhood, this building is in one of the most desirable and walkable areas in St Louis. It is one block from Tower Grove Park and only one mile from the famed Missouri Botanical Gardens. Dozens of restaurants, shops, and cafes along South Grand ave are only steps away. This area is culturally rich with history and new rejuvenated, positive energy. Take a stroll along the tree lined residential streets and you will encounter all the friendly faces, parks and beautiful buildings that make this neighborhood such a treasure. Getting AroundThe apartment is a few hundred feet from the South Grand ave bus line and close to the Grand Metrolink stop ( 2 miles away). You will only have to take one bus to get to the Grand Metrolink station, and from there you can get to Downtown (only 5 miles away), the airport and all the museums and attractions of Forest Park and the Central West End. There are days worth of attractions within walking distance. No need for a car. But if you have one, there is a reserved off-street parking space available for free. Other Things to NoteNoise Disclaimer: The ceiling between the upstairs and downstairs apartment is insulated, however, you will hear footsteps from time to time if the upstairs neighbors are walking around. We, and nearly all of our guests, have not found it to be an issue. But we want to make those who are very sensitive to noise aware of this. Normal sounds (conversation, TV, radio, etc) do not pose a problem. We also provide white noise makers in each bedroom for those who are very sensitive to noise.

The SpaceThe mission of my home is "to provide support for highly motivated professionals who are in St. Louis in order to advance their careers." Support for my guests is provided in a variety of ways. This beautifully renovated 3-story, 2.5 bath, 7-bedroom home (built in 1893) is a joy to come home to after a challenging day at work! The home is just 2 blocks from the beautiful Botanical Gardens and 8 minutes from Forest Park! The spacious first floor creates an open area for mingling with other guests and the grand staircase is very striking! Two washers and two dryers are available for guests and even laundry detergent is included along with Wi-Fi. Located in the historic Shaw neighborhood, the house is just 8 minutes from downtown, the Gateway Arch, Forest Park, the Zoo, the City Museum, Science Center, the MUNY (world's largest outdoor musical theatre), a golf course, the Art Museum, The Fabulous Fox Theatre, and many more wonderful attractions! Many of the attractions in St. Louis are free, and for those using public transportation, the bus stop is just 1 block from the front door! The MetroLink (train) is just a 9 minute bus ride away. There are many great restaurants (Italian, Mexican, Indian, Vietnamese, Chinese, sushi, Panera Bread, Starbucks, etc.) nearby and two major highways are just 4 minutes away. Major shopping stores, such as Target, Office Depot, Nordstrums, etc. are just minutes away. Because my home is near both SLU medical center, Wash U. Medical center and Barnes/Jewish/Children's hospital, I host many people who are in the medical profession who are doing a 2- or 3-month rotation. I work with people from all over the world and love to meet new people. It is like a "home away from home". My house is only 8 minutes from the Fabulous Fox Theatre and I have hosted the actor who played "Simba" in the National Touring company of Disney's "The Lion King". He had a wonderful visit in my home. I have also hosted the actress who plays the part of "Nessarose" in the national touring company of "Wicked". If you are in one of the touring shows, my home is a very peaceful place to de-stress from the pressures of life on the road. The large fenced yard has a gas grill, and a lovely patio. Tower Grove Park is a short bike-ride away (a few bikes available to use). There is easy (free) on-street parking and private parking in the rear of my home so you will be comfortable in this family-friendly neighborhood. Wi-Fi Internet access is available. What makes this home special is the historic value of the neighborhood, the comfort of the home, the amenities that are offered, and the great location. This is a great opportunity for short- or extended- stay. I look forward to the possibility of hosting you in my home! Guest AccessThe Guest will have access to the entire home except for other bedrooms. This includes two washers and two driers that are located in the basement, bicycles that can be used by the guests, access to Netflix on the TV in the living room, the BBQ grill on the back deck, off street parking in the rear of the building, and all of the other amenities of the home. Interaction with GuestsI am available to help my guests on a regular basis. Guests can have as much privacy as they need! The NeighborhoodMy home is located in the Historic Shaw Neighborhood -- a very family-friendly and diverse neighborhood. There are many restaurants and shops located very near my home, and Tower Grove Park is within walking distance. Guest are able to jog or ride bikes in the neighborhood (a few bikes are available for guest's use) and during the summer, a jazz festival is held every week at the Botanical Garden which is just two blocks away. Many people are drawn to the history and amenities that the neighborhood offers! Getting AroundGetting around is very easy. By car, highway 44 and highway 64 are minutes away and almost all of the major St. Louis attractions are just 8 minutes away. The bus stop is two blocks from the front door, and a short 16 minute bus ride will take you the Central West End Metro Train station. From Lambert International Airport, take the Metro Train to the Central West End station (takes about 20 minutes) and then take the bus 16 minutes to the intersection of Shaw and Tower Grove Avenue. My house is two blocks from this intersection. SLU Medical center is within waking distance of my home and Wash U. Medical center is 8 minutes away by car, 16 minutes away by bus. Other Things to NoteThe house is usually very quiet. Many physicians from all over the world stay at my home because my home is close to both Washington University Medical Center and St. Louis University Medical Center. The SpaceThis space is best suited for business travelers (of which I've had many) or families or really good friends since you are all sleeping in one big open area in the lower level. People tell me all the time how comfortable and beautiful my house is. The finished lower level is 1300 sq feet and has 1 queen bed with featherbed topper, 1 queen Aerobed 24" high inflatable with pillowtop, 1 sofa and 1 loveseat with removable back cushions so they are very wide and comfortable. No more than 4 adults (over 18), 6 people total. Guest AccessThe lower level has a full-sized refrigerator, 1950's electric range with double ovens, new toaster oven, electric skillet, a microwave, 10-cup coffee pot and filters, Keurig, washer/dryer, pots, pans, cooking and baking utensils. A 52" HDTV and BluRay with free Amazon Prime and Pandora accounts for your use. Note: I do not have cable. The bathroom has a shower only, plenty of fluffy towels and washcloths, hair dryer, soap, toilet paper, shampoo/conditioner. BRING A SWEATER (I provide one fluffy robe) as the basement is always 5 degrees cooler than the upstairs and I do keep my house on the cool side both in summer and winter. Interaction with GuestsI have a very active life and you will likely be in St Louis for a specific purpose so I respect your desire to just have a clean, safe, comfortable place to come and go as you like. I'm thrilled to share my knowledge of STL if you want to know where to go, what to see. I'm always eager to get to know people but I will leave that up to you as to how much interaction you want. The NeighborhoodThere are about 2000 residents surrounding Francis Park in mostly single family homes, but there are also multi-family and condo units. Our 1 sq mile community park features tennis courts, handball courts, playground, lily pond with art sculptures, lovely gardens, walking paths and now a coffee house next to the Tennis courts. Willmore Park is on the other side of me and offers 2 lakes, fishing, picnic shelters, tennis, fabulous playground, dog park (website hidden), walking/jogging paths. Both parks are less than 5 minutes walking distance. I live in a very safe, walkable neighborhood near cafes, restaurants, shopping, a library, donut shops, grocery, Walgreens and lots of medical facilities. St. Louis is known for so many FREE activities. Forest Park has a plethora of venues: Golf and Tennis, The Muny (June -Aug), Jewel Box, Worlds Fair Pavillion, The Boathouse Cafe, The Zoo, The Missouri History Museum, The Art Museum, Shakespeare in the Park (June), fabulous walking/running/biking paths, outdoor ice skating, ballfields bordered by Barnes Hospital and Washington University. The Central West End is a very walkable community full of restaurants, eclectic shopping & nightlife. Downtown is no Chicago but there is lots to see and do on Washington Avenue, Laclede's Landing, and The Arch grounds which are undergoing a major renovation. We have numerous wineries about an hour west of me and well worth the drive for the views alone. There is usually a band playing at any of them on the weekends. You will always find bicyclists around our area and beyond --many great bike paths like Grant's Trail and Christy Greenway that connect for long rides or runs. In addition, we have the KATY trail, a former RR trail now covered by chat and near the wineries in Defiance for bicycling flat land through scenic areas. And we have the greatest sports town in all the USA: Blues Hockey, Cardinals Baseball, Rams Football, SLU Basketball, and Soccer. Getting AroundMetrolink is our railway system and the nearest station is Shrewsbury which is a 3 minute drive. Driving is super easy, super simple in St. Louis. You can drive from the Mississippi River which is the separation from Illinois, to the far western edges of St Louis in about 45 -50 minutes. Other Things to NoteYou will be entering the apartment at the rear of the house, so you'll walk along the left side of the house following the brick paver walkway to the patio and you'll see the staircase down to the basement. It's well-lit at night.
