The SpaceYour large, in-home, downstairs mother-in-law (MIL) suite is waiting for you to rest and relax after an exciting day exploring Whitefish Mountain Resort, Glacier National Park, Kalispell, Whitefish, Flathead Lake, Blacktail Mountain, and all that Montana has to offer.
You will be welcomed like friends. We strive to answer most of the common questions our guests ask in our listing. Please read the entire listing, in full, prior to sending questions. Our guests find the listing contains valuable information that assists them in planning their trip.
PLEASE NOTE: The suite is in our home and not a private apartment. We believe in hosting and being available for our guests. If you desire a hotel feel with complete isolation, then our home is not the best fit.
Your clean, sunken bedroom has extra tall ceilings and a big window. The large room contains a queen sized bed plus bunk beds so four can sleep comfortably. Your room also has a night stand, lamp, chair and full closet for you to use. Extra blankets and pillows are readily available in the closet.
The private bathroom has a sink, toilet and standing shower (no tub) with towels, shampoo and soap to wash away the stress of the day. The laundry is right down the hall, so washing a load of clothing during your stay is very convenient and the first load per night booked is free. Laundry is available from 8am till 10pm. House laundry has priority, so please ask first. NO SHOES in the washer or dryer. Additional loads are $4.
Down the hallway, the suite also has a large living room with windows, a full sized futon with a twin above and flat screen television (antenna and HDMI cable available to connect to your computer). High speed wireless internet is available through out the facility. The kitchen contains a full sized, side by side refrigerator and freezer, oven, coffee maker, microwave, toaster and sink. Dishes, cups, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, utensils, et cetera are also provided if you choose to stay in and cook your own meals. Enjoy a quick meal at the counter or take a seat at your private dinning table. The self-serve breakfast may include coffee, tea, hot chocolate, bread, bagels, butter, jam, hot or cold cereal and rice milk.
Kick back and unwind in your own section of our home or come upstairs and join us for a visit or ask questions about our amazing valley! We love to share. There are two large decks to relax and enjoy the sunrise or the sunset.
You access the suite through the front door of the home and down the stairs. The bedroom has brand new plush carpet. The entire home has new paint, inside and out.
People love the ability to cook their own meals, the extra tall ceilings in the large bedroom and the insight provided by having their hosts up the stairs to answer all their questions. Because the bedroom is sunken, some may not like that there are stairs in the hall way between the bedroom, bath and living room.
Our listing says "not infant friendly" because our son is nearly 15 years old and our home is no longer child proofed. We don't have child safety items (plug covers, locks on cabinets, gates at the tops of stairs, etc.) and long ago gave away our high chair and other child items. Please know that the MIL Suite has a standing shower, not a tub. If our home is not child safe enough and you'd rather stay elsewhere, we understand. Guest AccessStay a while. Relax in your own private living room or come and and sit out on the enormous second story deck just off the upstairs dining room. Watch the pheasant scurry into the pines and the sunset paint beautiful pinks and golds across the Montana Big Sky.

Need high speed WiFi? It's available throughout the facility. Do you like board games? We have plenty!
A full laundry, including washer, dryer, soap, iron and ironing board are available. You may wash one load per night for free. Additional loads are $4. Laundry is available from 8am till 10pm. House laundry has priority, so please ask first. NO SHOES in the washer or dryer. If you have forgotten something, simply ask as we often have extra necessities available.

Interaction with GuestsWe have never met a stranger and love to serve. Let us know how much or little interaction you would like and we will honor your request. Enjoy our two very friendly Samoyed dogs, Atlas (a therapy dog) and Athena. They have an amazing smile that will draw you in to their calm, gentle and happy presence. People are amazed at how quiet and laid back they are. Want to snuggle, they will gladly join you. Want to chill by yourself, they will go and lay down and leave you completely alone. Friends have called them "white rugs" and often forget they are here. Please note: Atlas and Athena are not allowed outside of the house because they run and quickly get lost. Please do not allow them out. Sweet they are but good with directions they are not. The NeighborhoodThe neighborhood is safe, peaceful, quiet and has a country feel. Most of the lots are five to 20 acres so you have room to breathe in the clean, fresh air and enjoy the quiet. Many neighbors walk on the road at all different times, so be cautious as you drive in and out. Please note the speed limit on our private road is 20 MPH. The road is nearly 3 miles round trip and it goes down to the river. You may like to walk or jog the neighborhood. Getting AroundWe are 15 minutes from Glacier International Airport (FCA). There is a bus that runs from Kalispell to Whitefish several times a day but the nearest bus stop to us is by Home Depot (5-7 minute drive). There are also limited cabs in the area. Uber just started in Kalispell. Other Things to NoteYour Mother-in-law suite is centrally located. Here are some drive times:

David and Victoria have lived in Montana for over 30 years. They both graduated from University of Montana in 1991. David with a degree in computer science and honors and Victoria with a fine arts degree. However, they didn't meet until 1996 and were married later that same year. Alex, their son, is a wonderful young man in his tenth grade year of high school at Whitefish Christian Academy. Together they have spent the past 14 years designing, planting, enhancing and expanding the courtyard; remodeling their home; and creating a place of refuge and peace.
David and Victoria both love to travel. David has explored 32 different countries and lived overseas for an entire year. People from around the globe have lived with them and they enjoy spending time with a wide variety of people.
When asked what they do, they respond, "We are entrepreneurs." They own several different businesses. Mostly they love to meet and serve people. They believe, like Zig Ziglar, if you help enough people get what they want then you will get what you want.
