This vacation rental has an open floor plan that allows for freedom of movement for people in wheel chairs. 36” doors open to bathrooms, bedrooms and the kitchen. The bathrooms are a spacious 11 feet long by 8 feet wide, open floor plan with role in showers and plenty of room to maneuver. The toilets are the standard handicapped accessible elevated height with a grab bar on the wall. The shower has a ceiling track shower curtain that provides the choice of a free open space or the shower curtain can be pulled around to contain over-spray. (I can see that the shower curtain is mostly covering the shower grab bar in the display picture, but it’s there for your use.) All floors are carpet free, with the exception of a throw rug in front of the toilets, which can be removed. Living room furniture can be moved to allow comfortable access and inclusion to the general seating area. Both Gary’s parents and my mother are people of limited mobility. We have a firm understanding of the unique needs and obstacles that a “traditional” home can present to the person with special needs. We have worked hard to make our home a place of safety and comfort for all. If you have special needs, please make us aware of them so we can help make your stay at The Home Place be the best experience possible.
