The SpaceOur campground is closed for the winter but we are now offering ONE adorable cabin that is ready and waiting for you. It sits within the 33 acre campground which you can hike, snowshoe or even cross country ski if would like. You can drive right up to your cabin, although as the winter progresses the roads will become more snow covered (we do plow) and sometimes icy. We can always drive you to your site if it becomes necessary in our Polaris Ranger that has trax. We'll make sure the lights are on and the cabin is all warmed up for you upon arrival.
The one bedroom cabin has a queen sized bed a dresser and TV in the room. We provide linens and towels for this cabin so no need to bring your own. The cabin also has a charming propane wood burning stove that is most efficient with easy on and off; no messy wood to deal with. The kitchenette has a full sized refrigerator, a sink and 2 burner cook top. We also provide all of the cookware/utensils etc that you will need during your stay. Table and 4 bar stools to eat at as well as a cozy couch that will open to a full sized bed for additional guests. There is also a TV in the main living area or play some of the good old fashioned board games instead or curl up on the couch and read that book you have been meaning to finish and leave the TV off instead.
Our bathroom has a regular flush toilet and sink; however we will need you to come up to the main building to use our heated bathrooms for your showers as the campground doesn't have waterlines buried deep enough to accommodate a shower in the cabin. The showers are a quick one minute walk, or drive right up and park next to the building,
During the winter we also have our 6 person hot tub that you can enjoy just give us heads up so we make sure we turn it up for you. It take a couple hours to get up to 104 steamy hot degrees. Nothing better than sitting out under the stars on a cold, wintry night enjoying a nice, soak in the hot tub. It is located up front in our pool area; about a 2 minute walk from cabin or drive right up front, park and hop in.
For those adventurous types don't forget the fire pit outside with the adirondack chairs. Even with snow on the ground there is nothing better than sitting besides a nice fire, roasting some marshmallows.
We also have a charcoal grill for outdoor grilling.
Our small store is closed for the season but if you need we do sell both wood and charcoal for your convenience. Just let us know and we can get it down to the cabin for you. Wood bundles are $4 each and charcoal bags are $5; they are the instant-light type for ease of starting.
My husband, two kids, one cat and our 6 chickens live on property so you may see us roaming about now and then. Also please know that we are just a quick phone call away should you need anything during your visit.
Shelburne is just 5 miles outside of Gorham which has many shops including a Super Walmart should you need supplies for your visit. We provide a binder full of suggestions of things to do while in the area, so don't worry we'll keep you busy if that is what you want.
Winter skiing is plentiful; whether you are looking for downhill or cross country we are just minutes from many of the best slopes in the northeast.
Hiking trails are everywhere! We are just 1/2 mile from the Appalachian Trail and 15 miles from Mt Washington, Mt Adams, Mt Madison; just to name a few.
We will help make sure that you have an unforgettable visit to the White Mountains and we Thank You for considering our Cozy Cabin. Guest AccessAs you arrive on the property you will find the front gate locked. We will have made arrangements with you as how to enter the gate so you can drive right up to your cabin. We will also pre-arrange how you will receive your key. You have access to your cabin, all 33 acres of the property are yours to roam as you wish. The main bathhouse is for your use for showers. There is also a game room next to the bathhouse that has video games and a pool table that you certainly can use. If you would like to use our hot tub you need to let us know ahead of time as we don't always leave it running at 104 degrees. We need about 2 hours notice and it's all yours as well. Interaction with GuestsWe live on the property in the main building and we want you to know that we are here for you whenever you need us we are only a quick phone call away. Or come knock on the front door. Always available to chat or answer questions or give you your privacy to enjoy your time in the cabin. The NeighborhoodWe are close to the ski slopes, hiking and restaurants but far enough out that you have the privacy so many of us want when we stay in a cabin.
We have technology if you want it; or just don't turn it on... :) Other Things to NoteWhen you are traveling through the area in the winter please give yourself plenty of time and remember the weather in the mountains is sometimes different and snowier than where you are coming from. If you don't have to drive at night through the mountain "notches" it's better not to. If you have to just drive slowly and safely and we will make sure that the cabin has lights on and the heat is on for you.
