The SpaceThere is not a shower in the cabin. There is a seasonal outdoor shower for cabin guests, though IT IS CLOSED Dec - March. There is a small holding tank of water in the cabin suitable for hand washing/teeth brushing, etc. We provide filtered drinking water.

A brand new Amish built log cabin - tucked just inside the pines along the water's edge for your secluded getaway. Come to write, read, create, connect or find stillness and silence. Make this your base for outdoor recreation and adventure. Enjoy our 32 acres of privately owned woods and water surrounding you as you nestle in; the cabin is located about 40 yards from the main house (see photos).
The cabin is on our private property shared with our family home. We are not a campground and do not permit guests to cook over fires, camp stoves or grills. There are many inviting campgrounds in our area that offer more of a camping experience.
Please note there is no air conditioning, except by Mother Nature and a ceiling fan. There is also no running water in the cabin, we do however have a small 10 gallon water tank with filtered water for hand/face washing, teeth brushing; though not to rinse dishes. Please conserve water. We also provide 3 gallons of filtered drinking water in a ceramic water crock. During warm weather there is a small sink by the outdoor shower for washing hands and washing small dish-ware only, but not to wash food laden dish ware.
There is a Nature'sHead composting toilet in the cabin, and for your convenience an inviting "seasonal" outdoor hot water shower and traditional toilet are available near the main house about 40 yards from the cabin. The composting toilet has a separate container for liquids. Upon your arrival the liquid container will be clean and fresh. We ask that guests maintain it by simply removing the container when full and emptying it into the traditional toilet. To retain deposit this tank must be left empty and clean at check out. Simple and detailed instructions are provided.

We provide a bed blanket and 2 down pillows. Please bring your own QUEEN SIZE sheets, maybe extra pillows & blankets for cooler weather, and most definitely towels. A set of bed sheets and bath linens can be provided at an added charge of $30.
Firepit is available at dusk. NO daytime fires. Firewood is provided; please conserve wood. NEVER leave a fire unattended. S'mores welcome!
We do not charge a cleaning fee and ask that you leave the cabin clean for the guests that follow; toilet (empty urine container) and sink clean, cabin swept, appliances and glassware clean, trash emptied. $95 deposit held for proper usage of the composting toilet.
We welcome people looking for peace and quiet and a reconnection with nature. There is no TV or Wifi. We are looking for quiet, mindful guests with a caretaker philosophy; for the cabin, the land and yourselves. We ask you to leave it as pristine as you find it so that those that follow you may enjoy fully.
Smoking is permitted outdoors by the cabin, NOT in common areas.
Outdoor space is shared with my family and my guests.
Quiet after 10pm.
The cabin has a notebook/manual explaining how to live comfortably and simply with what is offered in the cabin and property.

Please drive SLOWLY on our street, and respect our neighbors privacy. Getting AroundThere is both cab and bus service in our area. Uber and Lyft are beginning to pop up, as well. We are in the town of Cape May Court House; please note that the nearest bus stop is 2.5 miles away without a sidewalk, so can be challenging to stay at the lake without a vehicle. Other Things to NoteBecause this cabin is so close to water we host adults only.
