At the same time our neighborhood is nice and quiet, overlooking Green Acres woods. We are about a 2 minute walk to Livingston High School which has a public pool, tennis courts, tracks, and a playground for kids. Getting AroundTrain stations are located within 10 minutes drive- Millburn, Chatham, Madison Bus stop to New York City is about a 5 minute walk Parking available: 2-4 spaces depending on time of renting. The SpaceEnjoy a comfortable room in a quiet and convenient location. I have three upstairs bedrooms in my suburban Livingston home and one is currently available to rent. There is usually at least one other renter there, so this is a shared situation. Renters are always quiet, professional, respectful people. The house is on a quiet street with an established garden yet only 1-2 blocks from Livingston Center and NYC transportation (#77 to 42nd Street Manhattan, 45 minutes, or #73 and #71 to Saint Barnabas Hospital, West Orange, Route 10 shopping, Livingston Mall, Short Hills Mall, Newark/Harrison PATH trains and NJT. Around the corner from Post Office, Banks, Starbucks, Dunkin' Donuts, fro-yo and ice-cream, supermarkets, restaurants, pharmacies... Room includes personal bathroom (or shared with one—sometimes two others—depending upon occupancy), small desk, comfortable single bed, use of ironing board and iron, use of washer/dryer and some use of kitchen. NB: House has filtered and softened water for showers, cooking etc. This is very important in NJ in general and Livingston particularly. This is perfect for someone transferring to NJ for work and looking for semi-permanent accommodation, someone needing proximity to the hospital (Saint Barnabas), here for work (temporarily), doing a course, or visiting relatives here. NYC connection is convenient from this location. Access to cooking facilities and kitchen, laundry, upstairs bathroom. It's very quiet here and safe here; surrounded by trees with a nice backyard and lots of animals; deer and squirrels visiting. Yet also conveniently located, with great services close-by (shops, malls, supermarkets, post office, banks). Very close to bus stops. Closest NJT train station is Short Hills. Guest AccessAccess to cooking facilities and kitchen, laundry, upstairs bathroom. Interaction with GuestsMy wife and I will mostly be available and on premises. We travel over summer but will be sure to arrange coverage in case something comes up. The NeighborhoodLivingston is very centrally located in northern NJ, has great amenities; gyms, parks, shops (boutique and big box), and is very pretty in spring/summer/fall. Most people are here for work and our location is ideal for those who need a place to stay without long commutes to/from their corporate head office/hospital/lab etc.. We are located at a major intersection of arteries (Route 10) and South Livingston Ave, though one block back in a quiet environment. Parks and reservations are all around, incl. Turtleback Zoo rec area and South Mountain reservation. Getting AroundVery close to bus stops. Closest NJT train station is Short Hills. Other Things to NoteOccasionally our driveway gets quite occupied, so inter-guest coordination to ensure parking order there is sometimes necessary.

My home offers an easy walk to shops and restaurants. Visit a local or city museum or theatre, hang out at one of our coffee shops, browse for antiques or dine at one of the hundreds of restaurants nearby. Any cuisine you can imagine! Easily accessible to Manhattan - close to a direct bus to Times Square, a short drive to the train to Penn Station NY, or drive your own car. Once there, you have easy access to the Theater District, Hell's Kitchen, Chelsea, the Village, Chinatown, Little Italy, Lincoln Center, renowned museums and the diverse attractions that make New York City a worldwide destination. A long-time New Yorker myself, I'll happily recommend sights in and outside the city, assist with reservations, etc. New Jersey itself has more to offer than most realize - outdoor attractions, historical sites, and outstanding colleges are only the beginning. The SpaceThe house is located in a beautiful and safe neighborhood in a quiet town. There are many restaurants and great shopping areas nearby. The Shop Rite grocery store is just a 10 minutes walk, and the Short Hills luxury shopping mall is about a 7 minute drive. There are many options for local restaurants nearby, and a public nature preserve for enjoying the outdoors. There are churches, a library, and bus stops all within walking distance. Interaction with GuestsSince I work full-time in NYC, my availability is very limited but I can always be reached via cell or office phone throughout the day. My preference is for guests to arrive after 7pm in the evening or early morning before 9am. The NeighborhoodMy neighborhood is very bucolic, lots of trees and greenery, 2 minute walk to community recreation area/park which has tennis courts, baseball fields and a beautiful outdoor swimming pool open from late June - Labor Day, cost $10 per day to enter with resident. The express bus to NYC is approximately 5 blocks from the house and there are various lots where you can park your car for free and some streets do offer off-street parking as well. Livingston has many great restaurants and most offer delivery service too. Other Things to NoteMy preference is to rent to females only and any guest must have a complete profile on the Airbnb site and be able to offer reviews/references.
