The SpaceThe room is a private suite in the rear of the house overlooking a fully fenced in back yard with high hedges. There is a double bed with foam mattress topper, two night stands with lights a lamp, large closet with storage cabinet, chair, full private bath, linen closet. Bedding, towels provided. Wireless internet is in the house. There are TV's in the living room and kitchen. We are planning to ad a TV to the room but most people just watch movies on their laptops or pads so we haven't felt pressed to do it. The room is cozy and very comfortable. Guest AccessGuest can utilize the kitchen. I'm an avid cook so if there's a gadget out there I probably have it. I do cook every day so if your planning on making a major meal we will need to coordinate. There's laundry in the basement. A side porch, open front porch, back yard with seating. We generally keep to ourselves and though we are by no means anti-social, at the end of a long day we tend to be in wind down mode and are not generally keep to ourselves. We are totally accessible for any information or request that you may have. Interaction with GuestsSince I'm a realtor I can tell you pretty much anything you need to know about the are, NYC, commuting etc. I'll provide the information but it will be up to you to carry it out. We both have pretty busy schedules. If anything additional is needed, like a writing desk or additional storage just ask in advance and we will work it out. The NeighborhoodPlainfield in the late 1800's early 1900's was the playground of the rich and famous which is why there are 8 historic districts. Our house is situated in a particularly pleasant and safe area. If you haven't been to Plainfield you should come to and see it for yourself. It's a charming town packed with history some of the most beautiful architecture that you will ever see. In fact a former Mayor lives just around the corner from us. Its a great place to ride a bike or take a long walk and just enjoy the scenery. As a realtor its my job to show the best of plainfield to clients daily. I've even convinced two of our NYC friends to move here and they are equally as happy as we are living here. Getting AroundOur home is situated in the middle of a very residential area therefore it is more suitable for people with a car or some means of transportation.
Plainfield is an easy 45 minute commute from Manhattan (Penn Station) but once you get to NJ you will need a car to get around so this room is probably ideal for someone that is working locally on a regular basis or someone that has a car but does not want to drive into Manhattan. Our driveway parks two comfortably but if we pack them in we can fit up to 4 cars. Street parking is plentiful and perfectly safe.
Plainfield has two New Jersey Transit stations, Plainfield and Netherwood. The Plainfield station is 1.5 miles from the house and Netherwood is 2.8 miles. There are also express buses that run directly into NYC.
We have very easy access to all of the major highways, route 22, I 78, I 287, Garden State Pkwy and I 95.
Movie theaters, good food and fund are never far.

Working in the area a few days a month or on a semi regular schedule want the comfort of coming back to the same surroundings time after time. We have just the space for you.

There's a good bit of wildlife here. All kinds of birds, wild turkeys, foxes, raccoon, ground hogs, tons of Deer.
Route 22 is near and has every kind of shopping imaginable. Though Plainfield city doesn't offer that many sit down restaurants there are lots of fast food options and if you want fine dining its no more that 5 miles away.
