THE BALLOON PARK, FAIRGROUNDS, UNM, NOB HILL & I-25/40 INTERCHANGE ARE NEARBY. Getting AroundThe are bus routes to take you all over Albuquerque with a bus stop in front of the library on Montgomery Park. You are certainly welcome to take the bike paths which bisect the park and offer many routes to explore Albuquerque. I would suggest having a car since Albuquerque is spread out and many of the bus runs stop early. Other Things to Note-Take advantage of nearby mountain hiking and biking trails winding up through 4 ecological zones on the west side of the Sandias.
-Beautiful hiking, biking, and skating paths take you through the Cottonwood Forests of the Bosque and along the Rio Grande River.
-Don't miss the tram which takes you to the top of the Sandias with forever views, fine dining, ski slopes and hiking trails skirting in and out of the primeval forests and lookouts. Bring warm clothing-it's a bit cooler at almost 11,000 feet.
-Old Town, Museums, Explora, Tingley Park, The Planetarium and Great Restaurants are clustered a short drive from Parqhouse. I highly recommend The First Friday Fractal shows projected onto the inner dome of the Planetarium with accompanying music-This dazzling show will tantalize everyone with the secret treasures of visual mathematics.
-Summer concerts at the Biopark on Thursdays take place in a lush, shaded venue surrounded by gardens and ponds of all descriptions. You will be amazed this venue is in a desert. Wonderful musical picnics for the whole family.
-The Friday Zoo concerts is a larger picnic/park like setting with family-appropriate acts.
-There are free Saturday concerts sponsored by the city which change locations throughout the summer.
-Call 311 for updates or pick up the weekly Abq Arts or Alibi paper to see what's happening around town.
