The Space5-acre wooded lot (natural vegetation with lots of wildlife) with spectacular views of the Sandia Mountains. Very quiet and private. Unusual to find a location with the feel of being in the country, yet with quick, easy access to the city. I commute to ABQ each day for work and my commute is shorter than many of the people who live in town. The house is located at an elevation of 7000 feet, so the temperature is always about 5-10 degrees (°F) cooler than Albuquerque. Terrific climate. Guest AccessEntire house is yours (except for Master bedroom), with unlimited use of the outdoor hot tub, outdoor seating area, 1-km private nature trail, and downstairs/upstairs living areas with couch, bar, microwave, refrigerator, TV, and DVD player. There are two bedrooms, one has a queen-sized bed and one has two twin beds. I also have two AeroBeds if needed. The bathroom is a full bath, with shower and bathtub. Guests are also welcome to use the very nice, modern kitchen and upper deck with fantastic views. Interaction with GuestsI work a normal full-time job in Albuquerque. I live on the upstairs floor of the house, however, I stay at my parents house in the neighborhood when I have guests. That way, my guests can enjoy the house to themselves, unless they prefer that I be there. I respect the privacy of my guests, yet am happy to provide advice for local attractions, restaurants, hiking and biking trails, etc. The NeighborhoodIt's an easy drive to Albuquerque (less than 30 minutes) and a short drive to Santa Fe (45 minutes) on the scenic Turquoise Trail (Highway 14). Sandia Peak Ski Area (winter skiing and year-round hiking and mountain biking) and Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club (award-winning 27-hole public golf course) are both within a short, 15-minute drive. Getting AroundYou will want to have your own vehicle. Public transport options are very limited. Other Things to NoteYou are welcome to use the upstairs kitchen and deck area to enjoy the scenic views.

The SpaceLocated just off Tramway Blvd and Paseo Del Norte this home provides easy access to the many nearby sites. The 'World's Longest Tram' is basically in your backyard. Enjoy a spectacular ride to the top of the mountain where a day of skiing or hiking awaits you or just take a ride to enjoy a fine dining experience at High Finance Restaurant. If you are wanting a more casual dining experience, I recommend the Mexican restaurant at the base of the tram which offers a spectacular view from the patio. Enjoy a mango margarita while viewing a spectacular New Mexico sunset. Interaction with GuestsWelcome to my casa! Originally from Louisiana, I came to the 'Land of Enchantment' on a tennis scholarship from the University of New Mexico. After graduation I decided to make Albuquerque my home. It is simply a wonderful place to live. In fact, I live right next door to my vacation home. So if there are any issues or help I can provide I am happy to help immediately. It is like having your own concierge at your disposal. Because I tennis allowed me to travel much of my life, I feel I have a good understanding what a traveler requires. I always preferred housing over hotels. The unique aspect of this house is that everything is brand new in it. From the flooring to the light fixtures, toilets, sinks, showers, furnishings, dinnerware, EVERYTHING! It is meticulously clean yet extremely comfortable with all modern amenities in an excellent location. I look forward to your stay! The NeighborhoodI chose to purchase a vacation rental in Sandia Heights because of the location. The area is an upscale neighborhood in the Sandia foothills. There are very few homes in this area that are available to rent. It is extremely tranquil and the views are spectacular. The location is perfect because it is only 20 minutes to the Albuquerque airport and downtown and only 45 minutes to Santa Fe. Living next door makes it easy to manage and allows me to provide the up most attention to any needs that need to be met. Because the home has been COMPLETELY remodeled allows me to just focus on the needs of each guest, sort of like a personal concierge service. Having lived here for over 20 years I am very familiar with the city and what it has to offer.

Find peace and rest at an updated mountain cabin. The Riders were pioneers in the East Mountains. They built the initial cabin in the 1920's, added to it as they could. Now later generations have updated it into a haven for solo adventurers, couples, and families looking for quiet days or as a starting place for hiking, biking or skiing the Sandias. Or follow the Turquoise Trail to Paako Trails Golf Course, Madrid, or even to Santa Fe.

**The open/airy house has a seriously vacationy vibe -- read on...** And I've written the Lonely Planet Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Taos guidebook -- so I'm happy to be your personal concierge :-) 2100 square feet; one floor; sleeps five. Hiking in the foothills is a 15-minute walk away -- or a 5-minute drive. The tram to the top of Sandia Peak is a 5-minute drive away. Due East are closeup/uninterrupted panoramas of the Sandia Mountains (@ 10,637 feet). Due West are 70-mile panoramic sunset views. It's a super safe/quiet residential neighborhood, with a lovely park across the street, and easy access five miles straight up Paseo (with restaurants) from I-25. The stucco house has an open floor plan, contemporary decor, saltillo tile floors, high ceilings, tons of windows, mountain views, and three different outdoor seating areas on the walled front and back patios. Kitchen: LG refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, stainless double sink, Frigidaire gas stove/oven, microwave, Silestone counters, and (otherwise) fully equipped. Dining Area: Teak table seats six; leaves fold out for extra space; opens onto back patio. Great Room: Fourteen-foot ceilings with vigas, gas fireplace, comfy couch, four comfy chairs, excellent stereo system, cable tv/dvd. Ceiling fans throughout house. Master Bedroom: With a queen bed and a twin bed. Oriental carpet; attached bathroom with shower/tub. Second bedroom: With a double bed and blackout curtains. Bathroom with shower/tub across the hall. Whole area can be closed off to create a private suite feel. Outdoor Space: Three separate seating areas, to flow with the moving sun/shade. Outdoor dining. Back patio with two fountains and a hammock, facing east and the mountain. Front patio with a fountain facing west. Plenty of greenery to counteract the shades of brown desert beyond the walls :-) Trader Joe's and Whole Foods are an easy 3-4 mile drive. Garage parking is possible. Otherwise there's a private driveway. High efficiency/front load washer + dryer.

The SpaceSince Thanksgiving, Fall is slowly giving way to Winter time in Sandia Park! The weather has cooled into the 30-40 range in the day time and at night temperatures range from high teens to mid 20's. From the Pioneer Rest, views of the Sandia Mountains range from clear New Mexico skies to dramatic storm clouds! We have already had a couple of light snowfalls, but predictions are for a mild, dry winter. As the weather gets cooler, the cozy, quiet of the Pioneer Rest is a perfect place to enjoy a peaceful stay. Guest AccessThe cabin has an updated kitchen with refrigerator, oven/range, microwave and a modest selection of cooking utensils. No laundry facilities are on the premises, but service can be arranged with hosts. Additional sleeping accommodations can be arranged for 2 additional guests. Interaction with GuestsYour hosts frequently take a morning walk, weather permitting, and invite you along. We are nearly always across the field, handy in case you need something, and are open to discussing other services you might find helpful. The NeighborhoodThere are several nice restaurants in the East Mountain area not too far from Pioneer Rest. Other Things to NoteThe gate at Pioneer Rest is not much of an eye-catcher, so Brian and Kathy plan to be on hand when you arrive for a brief orientation and as much of a Pioneer Rest History as you desire.

The SpaceWelcome to Vista de Santa Fe! Wake up to an unobstructed 20-mile view of the mountains. From the coffee bar, pour yourself a strong cup of coffee, nibble on fresh fruit, and curl up in the sitting area with a book without leaving the master bedroom. This is your secluded, luxury home away from home on 14+ acres. Casa de Vista offers spacious living with a 360-degree view of New Mexico. It’s so quiet, you can only hear crickets and coyotes. Complete with a gourmet kitchen, wet bar, and outdoor grilling area with TV. If you hike, bike, rock climb, ski, snow shoe, golf, fly fish, hunt, or soar...this property provides you easy access to some of the best in the country. You can hike/bike directly off the property for miles on private land—where you’ll find ancient fossils, petroglyphs, and pottery shards from previous visitors along a creek. Later that evening, you can star gaze in the dark skies from your very private hammock tucked away in the lower meadow just below the master bedroom. Casa de Vista is a perfect romantic get-away, or a place to gather with family and friends. After a few days, you might want to venture off the property…maybe. The club house to the nationally-rated Paako Ridge golf course is less than a 10-minute drive. Many say this 27-hole mountain course, designed by an award-winning architect, is the best in New Mexico. You can take flight in a sailplane out of Moriarty, staying up for hours in warm thermals rising off the desert in a high-performance glider. Hike to the top of Sandia Crest, then drive back into history through the mining towns of Golden, Madrid, and Cerrillos, on your way to Santa Fe, only 45 minutes from the finest art, crafts, theater, music, museums and restaurants offered in the Southwest. Ride a hot air balloon over Albuquerque the next day. Bandolier National Monument, site of ancestral pueblo and cliff dwellings, the Pecos Wilderness, and the famous Chaco Canyon are all day trips that usually start with a breakfast burrito. Welcome to New Mexico! Casa de Vista is the perfect vacation home to rest, recreate, and explore the Land of Enchantment with family and friends. Only a 30-minute drive from the Albuquerque airport and to city amenities. Guest AccessThe entire home and (URL HIDDEN) all yours. The SpaceThis is a 700-square-foot guest house that has a wraparound screened-in porch, full kitchen and private bath with shower. The views of the mountains -- especially around sunset -- are spectacular. The porch is a wonderful place to hang out with a beverage and just relax with the sound of the breeze and smell of the forest. Some guests coming from cities have told me it's hard for them to adjust to the quiet. Then again, at other times our local coyotes like to serenade you. Guest AccessYou'll have an entire house to yourself, complete with kitchen, washer/dryer and a single-car garage. We supply (caffeinated) coffee, tea, sugar, powdered creamer and some light snacks. We also provide toilet paper, paper towels, bathroom soap, dish soap, and laundry detergent. Interaction with GuestsThe guest house is physically separated from the main house so you'll have complete privacy, including your own separate garage. Usually, at least one of us is home in the main house and we're happy to answer questions or help in any way. Just message us via Airbnb or knock on the door. The NeighborhoodThis is a mountain community in the piñon/juniper forest of 10-acre lots with spectacular views. We value our space and our privacy, but we're also very friendly with our neighbors. Getting AroundYou definitely need a car here. There is no public transportation. Other Things to NoteWe do get snow here in the winter. The roads are typically plowed quickly. Even so, a four-wheel drive or all-wheel drive car is best if you come during the winter. We're at an altitude of 6750 feet, so if you're not used to higher altitudes you may experience headaches or sleepiness until you've had time to adjust. It's a good idea to go easy on the alcohol until you're acclimated.

Location: Paa-ko Ridge Golf Course, Sandia Park, New Mexico USA (Albuquerque ) This property is ideally situated 17 miles (20 minutes ) from Albuquerque and 45 miles (50 minutes) from Santa Fe traveling along the scenic Turquoise Trail. One of the bedrooms are convertible to either two twin beds or one king size bed per your desires. The 6000 square foot home is spacious yet oh so comfortable and relaxing, The three levels of large covered decks provide you with ample opportunity to find a quiet place and just take in the tranquility and enjoy the unbelievable views, not to mention a chuckle or two as you watch fellow golfers struggle in the same sand trap you encountered a couple of hours prior. Master bedroom has wrap around shower and large jet tub for soothing tied muscles after your round of golf. Elegance and comfort are a perfect blend in this featured “Parade of Homes” participant. It is located on the 20th hole and overlooks the 19th, 20th, and 21st holes. “Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club is ranked as the third best public golf course in the United States, according to a newly released Readers’ Choice Poll by subscribers of Golf World magazine, a Golf Digest publication”. “In August, Paa-Ko Ridge Golf Club was ranked No. 28 on Golf magazine’s 2008 list of the “Top 100 Courses you can Play,” moving up two spots from its 2006 ranking. Paa-Ko Ridge also is one of just 17 golf courses to be rated at five stars by the Golf Digest/Fodor’s “Best Places to Play” guide. Paa-Ko Ridge was rated by the 2008 Zagat Survey as “Extraordinary,” the only course in the Southwest to receive that highest-possible rating.” The golf course itself features panoramic views that are seldom matched anywhere in the world to get an idea of the splendor of this course. Each window of this home has a view of the plush course. Amenities are too numerous to mention but sampling would include a home theatre equipped with Bose audio, granite/marble throughout, outdoor Viking BBQ/outdoor refrigerator on the 2nd level deck, three hole putting green on site, exercise room with Olympic bench and full dumbbell rack & Schwinn air dyne bike, large garage with room for the largest of RV’s, and recreation room with beautiful pool table, WiFi connection and Satellite TV (DirecTV) on all three floors. This home provides the ultimate in golfing vacations with world class 27 hole course but equally enjoyable will be the sunrise vista’s overlooking the Ortiz Mountains to the East and the amazing sunsets (see promotional photo) as the sun drops below the Sandia (watermelon in Spanish) mountains to the west. Should you choose to visit the Land of Enchantment in the winter you will be delighted at the quality snow skiing available. Sandia Ski Area is within sight of our back porch and is but a short 20-minute drive to the 1st lift. Santa Fe Ski Area is @ 1.5 hour, Los Alamos/Pajarito 2.0 hours and world class Taos is 3.0-hour drive away. With lifts opening at 9:00, all of these areas are worth the effort for a day trip. Taos is an amazing mountain for the accomplished skier. On a personal note I’ve skied through out the west and enjoy this mountain more than any other, it is fantastic. This luxury golf home easily converts to a hub for skiing adventure as you return each night to the remote control fireplace and thick carpet to warm you up. Year round attractions for friends and family who might want to venture out for some other entertainment have many options. A drive to the top of the crest (10,700 feet), which overlooks the entire city of Albuquerque with literally 70 mile, views in all directions. The ride up the longest tram in the world takes you up to the same crest but from the city side. Dining at the High Finance restaurant while watching the sunset is a memory not soon forgotten. You may be fortunate enough to watch as daring hang gliders step off the shear face of the mountain and glide for hours toward the valley. The Old Town plaza, which dates back to 1640, is a wonderful place to shop for southwestern jewelry and all types for interesting cultural items. If you choose to come stay around Around Christmas be sure to go on the luminaria as it is a site to see! These decorations are a small factor that plays into the beautiful picture that is set in the Old Town Plaza. The Old Town area is home to many art galleries and museums for your enjoyment. Sorry but we only rent to families and do not allow parties or commercial activity of any type on the property. This includes weddings, birthdays, corporate, drinking or any group gathering of any sort that involves more people gathering than who is registered to stay on the property.
